- Here is a walk through video of the 4th gen LED to 5th gen LED tail light conversion harness (Non-Blind a spot Monitoring) that I make. This harness adds in the missing turn signal driver wiring so that the lights function 100% OEM as on the 5th gens once all the settings are activated with Alfaobd.
Alfaobd Settings:
CBC I/O: Connector E Pin 3/Connector F Pin 42: Rear Turn Lamp Output Present - YES
CBC Features: Combined Rear Lighting Enabled - NO
CBC Features: Single Element Tail Lamp - YES (this may already be set with factory LED tail lights)
CBC Features: LED Reverse Lamps Present - YES
CBC Features: LED Stop Lamps Present - YES
CBC Features: LED Rear Turn Lamps Present - NO (make note this is No not Yes)
CBC Features: LED Tail Lamps Present - YES (this may already be set with factory LED tail lights)
Glad I came across your video. Just found your other video about the 4th gens incandescent, great stuff!
Can you describe how the fault sense wire works? I see that some tail lights have 3 wires while others have 4 (LED, including fault sense red wire). Thanks!
My understanding is that the fault sense signal gets pulled to ground when the LED light is turned on. If the fault sense circuit remains high or is higher than the BCM expected then the it throws a fault.
Could the amber signals be pulled from trailer wiring with a pass through and save from running wires to bcm and using alfa obd?
How can I buy your harness?
Trailer harness still does not have a dedicated turn signal. I went this route at first but it still requires a module to break out the turn signal and another module to drop out the brake signal when the turn signal is on. I didn’t like the setup with having to use all those modules there I could accomplish better results by just running two wires.
