Some folks won’t like Sonic and Sally just meeting. They rather keep the childhood friends aspect. There’s a way to deal with that. Flynn once said that if Sally and the FFs were to be in the games, they be restricted to be Classic era only. I’m not thrilled with that but I’ll take the compromise. And hey if they’re popular enough they’ll be in the Modern games. The game, called Sonic the Hedgehog Zero, takes place before the first game on Christmas Island where Sonic meets Eggman for the first time and he takes over Sally’s kingdom in order to start his empire and find the scrolls containing info about the Chaos Emeralds. Sonic joins the FFs and eventually rids Eggman. However he finds the scrolls and goes hunting for the emeralds. Rotor built Sonic the Tornado so he can chase Eggman. The kingdom was somewhat neutral so in order to prepare for Eggman, the king had his daughter and her friends go around the islands to form allies. This will allow them to be in future games if they have a good reception.
I get what you mean. I would prefer it if The Freedom Fighters were Sonic's childhood friends. I do need to consider it from both sides. Still, I wouldn't mind seeing the FF return in the classic era. They might fit that aesthetic better.
I'd honestly agree with Flynn on this, i'd love to see them all in a Superstars/Mania style game tbh because i don't think they'd work in the modern-style games like Frontiers or X Shadow Generations
@@themediocrepretender Generations/Boost gameplay, yes (then again, a LOT of characters couldn't work there), but Frontiers?! When it comes to gameplay, they work way better than in Classic because that gameplay allows more flexibility. Because those like Sally would have to run fast in Classic, and a lot of people won't buy that unless maybe she uses air-shoes or whatever, or let alone use spin attacks unless she can't like the mods. Probably instead she does some sort of axel-kick/insta shield attack.
@ they could easily fit in those eras, especially the dark tones from Frontiers. Hell, some people say that Sally and the FFs should’ve been in Forces.
that be good idea

@antyep I was meaning story and artistic-wise, but i can see your point
