I watched this movie today, and its definitely a must watch for anime watchers.
Satoshi kon films are 🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️
@@saiparayan4047 Paprika is the best
@@j.e.l4648 I like paprika but for me perfect blue is best film
@@saiparayan4047 I personally love the mind fricking in Paprika, but perfect blue is still amazing
@@j.e.l4648 Satoshi kon ❤️
I listened to this for two hours straight.
...or did I?...
It was just a dream
Just like how the singer remembers his songs from dreams
cocain is a helluva drug
*Vsauce music plays*
Hey Vsauce, Michael here
Susumu Hirasawa put Satoshi Kon's dreams, and his animation, to music. This music fits the visuals...perfectly. This music, is the sound of lucid dreaming.
a theater in my area is showing that movie at the moment, was my 9th time watching it over a course of 5 years, looking forward to my 10th time in a couple of days, Paprika never disappoints
It's become a life goal to see every Satoshi Kon film in a cinema experience, What the films were intended for! Also i'd love to see Susumu Hirasawa in concert but i live in Aus so I think i'll have to go to Japan for that haha...
Me and my sister watched Paprika at a convention when we were teens. We had NO IDEA WTF was going on at any moment the entire time 😂😂 By a good margin the most weird random sequence of events I've ever witnessed. This song is awesome though, the vibe is immaculate ❤
Am i the only one that cry every time i found something beautiful that make me happy?
BTL , I want to cry to this music
Art is the only thing that makes me cry on a consistent basis. I cry at music, stories, comics and lyrics practically every day. I love and am always deeply impressed by the beauty of well-crafted things.
@@raccoonchild same
Nah man me too, especially this song the emotions are so beautiful ❤️
Same here, friend.
I love the optimistic view it took to how crazy and wonderful dreams could be. This theme right here just encapsulates that wonder in the opening sequence
This is the end titles music, not the opening
@@kennethholland6697nope, that’s “the girl in byoukka”. This is the OP’s music.
His music is just so ethereal words cannot describe what his work makes me feel.
The amount of creativity in this piece of music is astounding.
The same one who made the music for Berserk, the same one who made music for other great Japanese works (anime)... Susumu Hirasawa!
Opening scene this is tied to in Paprika is hands down one of the greatest bits of transitional animation to ever exist.
❤️👀😍
I agree and I wanted it to go on for so much longer than it did
作画、音楽、声優、物語、監督
全てにおいてパーフェクトだった。
特にopはめちゃくちゃワクワクしたなぁ。
This song is so beautiful that it makes me excited for the joy, brings joy and manages to make you see the world positively. As if it helps you believe in your dreams. At the same time, however, my heart is crying because I think Satoshi Kon had other dreams to realize, he still had a lot to give. And through this melody I am able to perceive his love for this project and for the desires in which he aspired.
To the genius that was Satoshi Kon! You have achieved a form of immortality! Always admired, never truly duplicated!
100% he lives on in his masterpiece works!
Rest in peace, Satoshi Kon. His life was taken from us far too soon…

The intro to this film is one of the best intros to any anime production I have seen! Musically and visually collaging ideas! Paprika's intro is up there with also the Full Alc Brotherhood introduction. Oh, and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure intros never disappoint.
Honestly the opening took me aback a bit and I was grinning like an idiot, it was amazing. Just amazing.
And yeah, Jojo's got some pretty awesome openings. Always go well with the music and feel of the arc
Zhenya Farrington Naww Kirby rightback at cha english version is the best
@Zhenya Farrington: This was indeed brillant! I absolutely love it!
Zhenya Farrington Berserk is beautiful in a different way. Susumu Hirasawa did the music for Berserk as well.
I fell in love with my wife in 2008 with this music from Susumu Hirasawa♡♡♡♡♡
So beautiful it makes you want to cry
I agree.

who is listening in 2020? This is my new social distancing music XD
always
Obviously yes!
+1 Greetings!
I just Watched The movie Yesterday and.... OH BOY IT WAS INSANE. At The End Of It All it did not feel like a movie it felt like I was In it experiencing everything that goes on in it. THAT WAS TRULY A MASTERFUL DISPLAY. The artwork, the story, even the music is INCREDIBLE. *ONE OF A KIND* I just can not believe I have not heard of this movie mentioned sooner.
@@Tealius-W Satoshi Kon - a legend. He should have had another forty years to make more wonderful things.
i just watched the movie because i liked this song so much, it was delightful to hear his music accompanied with those visuals, they really complicated each other a lot
Complimented?

So similar to Girl in Byakkoya. I didn't know they were separate songs.
Same melodies are repeated in the entire soundtrack, they are called leitmotifs
@@koscheiivanovisch4540 Thanks for sharing the technical term. I dun study music so thats an interesting piece of knowledge for the average consumer :)
@@lagoweyeo4902 and translated that'd be "core motive" or "main motive", which makes its function a little more transparent to English speakers! The Undertale soundtrack was also spun out of a few key leitmotifs.
People who like Susumu Hirasawa are called 馬の骨(umano hone) in Japan.
Welcome to the 馬の骨:D
Horse’s bone
Why are they called that?
@Maddig because Susumu is so good they created a whole word for people that like him
@@dorian4426 'Term for his fans, wordplay on ‘nobody, person of doubtful origin’. It was first used by Hirasawa on Twitter on October 4, 2009.' If you like his music you are a Horse's Bone, a nobody with truly a doubtful origin. Usually used in a negative way, but Hirasawa used it in a more positive manner in a tongue-in-cheek way.
@@jarjar2427 thanks, I was already aware of its general meaning as an insult so I figured there had to be some slightly deeper meaning!
The first time I watched this movie was on a laptop in bedroom and I finally got to see it in theaters this weekend and it was so amazing hearing this soundtrack in that setting for the first time. The creative, uplifting sounds from all the organized chaos in this song made me tear up.
The intro credits had me in such a trance. I saw Perfect Blue, Tokyo Godfathers, then this all for the first time in theaters in the past year. Satoshi Kon fest was such a blessing. I hope it happens again and again because his movies are all so incredible on the big screen. (it would be nice if they were actually showing ALL his movies)
@@nremac I saw Millennium Actress for the first time in theaters about 4 years ago for a Fathom Events thing and it was so good. Satoshi Kon movies really do just have this dream quality in general that just feels so good to be enveloped in.
This is fucking awesome and wacky, lol, love it. Susumu has a very unique style, and so did Kon.
A match made in heaven.
This world deserved to see what more Satoshi Kon could do with his talent and passion for animated films. It is very sad we could only experience it so much, but at least we have what he left behind to remember him for a long time. Hope you are doing great up there my guy.
this theme brings me such joy when things are not okay tbh
This is heaven
Watched this movies yesterday, really love it.
Awesome quality! Paprika would say thanks haha.
this song is such a fucking banger
There are only a few Satoshi Kon works that I haven't watched. I only keep them because the feeling after watching them for the first time is some of the most introspective and mesmerized moments while enjoying media.
Christopher Nolan's *_Inception_* movie is basically Satoshi Kon's *_Paprica_* anime, but final and better.
晴れやかさと共に狂気も感じるのはなぜだ・・・癖になる、この人の曲
I CAN'T STOP LISTEN IT AGAIN
I watched this movie today, and this music becomes my favorite song in 2022
Who is listening in 2023? neverending
Another beautiful remis of Byakkoya no musume... amazing
I know it seems silly, but I just love the fact that the first words said in the song may be heard as "here we are". Dayum, does this feel inspirational..
I absolutely adore Satoshi Kon's artstyle!
If your ever having a bad day just listen to this song 😁
진짜 영화와 잘어울리는 곡!! 신비롭고 엉뚱한 느낌의 환상
I always hear that some say in some North American media "Japanese music is shit." They only envy geniuses like Hirasawa.
Susuma Hirasawa not only created some of the songs for Paprika he also created some of the songs for the legendary dark fantasy Berserk.
Really?
@@guiguiii_ yup
Something unique about this song. It hit the right spot.
This movie was by a big margin the most confusing and random sequence of events I've ever witnessed, I remember watching it on the big screen at an anime convention with my sister when we were teens, and we had no idea WTF was going on at any point 😂😂 This song slaps though, it's incredible ❤
RUclips needs an actual repeat button. Too bad my purple pencil told the tabletop soda cans not to rain cucumbers today. Damn clouded antlions.
You know, theres already an repeat button. and you can just fricking loop this, by left click if you are using an computer, Mac, or idk
Daniela Panteleiko Yes thanks. But it's annoying having to press play every 3-4 minutes when I'm drawing or something. Having a normal loop button would be nice.
right click video and loop
Jin Can't quite right click on my Xbox.
Nobody got the joke apparently
Just watch the anime. Love this soundtrack ❤

This song makes me happy ^___^
Listening to this with headphones really remembers me the god who created this masterpiece isn't anymore in this world... Rest in peace, master.
BaneDain Thank fuck holy shit, I thought Hirasawa died for a second.

A perfect killer combination, Sci-Fi with Satoshi Kon and Susumu Hirasawa. Just watched it again after years, everytime is not the same but better. Maybe he waked up from the dream and maybe he gave us directions to distinguish between dream and reality.
Oggi 24 Agosto 2020, 10 anni senza il Maestro Satoshi Kon... 🙁

This is such a good track for running
THANK YOU SATOSHI KON :')
Bellissima
nice song
this is art 😍
yes
I agree
if it was more excepted in our unbearably artistically challenged society alot more people would probably see these amazing movies. I never saw it as something to be ashamed of like people taught me too. I saw it as art. like walking through an art gallery. many artists put their heart into this movie. And it showed.
wow you sound pretentious
III: Nah OP is right. Even now you see people treating animation as a medium below live action. It's not even a matter of preference, they're just assholes about it. It's so dumb
They who? People who don't see animation as art don't see animation as art? Yeah, seems about right. But find me any expert, any well educated in arts person who says that. Now that's hard. So, "they" are random people from YT or what? Anyways Paprika is a candyeye. Nice to see, I love this movie, but I don't find it sophisticated, higher or anything. Simple ideas, simple visualizations of these ideas, nothing deep. Let's face it, it's a sunday movie.
right click on the screen you can listen for ever
I have to watch the movie again
