yo Alviss Star i'm looking for a song in which susumu narrates a story. for most of it he speaks sort of normally with the instrumentation being kinda simple and lowkey fantastical, but then it always unleashes into the chorus which has the same energy as a dozen men galloping across an epic landscape on mighty steeds and i just cant for the heck of me find it
I disagree. He’s not a fan of Berserk so he most certainly didn’t understand it enough. He’s a talented composer. My personal favorite actually, but i believe a talented composer who is a fan of Berserk would make a more suitable soundtrack for it!
Born to late to explore Earth. Born to early to explore space. Born just in time to explore the vast ocean of Hirasawa's genius who is still composing music to this day.
It's never too late to explore whatever you want, exploring space i don't think we'll ever achieve and why would we need to when this planet has much more to offer than we've already found. But one thing is for certain, Hirasawa has made our stay here and our futures a lot better.
I remember reading that Miura used to listen to P-Model while working on the Berserk manga. It’s incredible to think that a musician who you loved and provided the soundtrack to the difficult work of creating a manga ended up himself creating the soundtrack to its anime adaptation.
RIP Miura sensei ... I still remember how I discovered Berserk at the end of the 90s. I was a just a kid but that was the time when I knew I absolutely love mangas. The anime was violent but incredible, and what could be said about the soundtrack! Earth, Forces, Gatsu & Behelit... It's quite sad that Miura wont get to finish this monument, but i'm still really grateful for what he brought into this world!
"Best of Susumu Hirasawa", also known as "Berserk OST". Edit: just wanna thank everyone who recomended the other works of Susumu Hirasawa, they are amazing!
If it's just the soundtracks you only heard of him, you seriously missing out on albums like 'Kyuusai no Gihou' and 'Blue Limbo'. My personal favourites, speechless.
he explicitly states in the description: TOP BEST MUSICS FROM SUSUMU HIRASAWA. For this top I just choose his work on movies, games and series. No individual songs or cd that didn't appear on those three media. Remember this is my opinion, write in the comment your top.
@esousuke1433 I don't think he did in his mind i bet he was pleased or at least contempt, Just because you live a miserable life doesn't mean you've given up on happiness i speak from experience, having had many troubles in my years but i don't know the pain Miura went through so can't really compare it to anything, but i know for a fact happiness, sadness, pain, hate, love, stress, anxiety, fear, longing eventually passes but can as easily come back if you let it, Once you realize it's all in your hands or easier said your head, you can start to counteract it with any form of activity, sometimes talking it out solves the most advanced problems and you don't even have to talk to anyone but yourself or your god or whatever, shrink idk. Either way these feelings weigh you down and certainly everyone who's ever been alive has been fighting these negative and positive emotions on a daily basis, but to say someone lived a miserable life, is in my eyes almost like calling someone weak, which Miura was far from, i mean he created one of the greatest stories ever written/drawn, i don't think we'll ever see another story as breathtaking as berserk.
The most angelic and powerful voice I’ve ever heard in my life, I remember watching paranoia agent when I was around 7 years old and that opening gave me chills man and rediscovering his work through berserk 97 it blew my mind and gave me those same chills hearing his voice almost 10 years later spent the whole night and day listening too all his albums and watching kons movies I’ll never forget how much that impacted me at such a young age, still listening too his music to this day.
There ain't no way, I clicked this because I've been listening to Island Door by him, I had no idea he was behind some of my favorite tracks in any media ever, hearing behelit at the start of this video blew my mind
it is absolutely out of this world. when discovering his music i laughed and cried and thought 'wtf??' many many times. i still listen to some albums regularly.
Wow, I'm a huge fan of his but I never listened to much of his soundtrack work outside of Paranoia Agent and I only got into that because I loved his work and loved the show. I've been missing out on a lot of really great works of his! Which is honestly a delight to learn, more Hirasawa to get into!
Guts theme is forever the most authentic and accurate recreation of the character's struggle. It feels almost impossible that anyone could have composed something so fitting.
Thanks for the compilation! It's kinda amazing how Hirasawa's music fits perfectly with Berserk and Satoshi Kon's Universe despite being radically different works. My favorite track has got to be Actress in Time Layers, as it accompanies what I think is the best climax in any movie
Muchas gracias por esta hermosa compilación, ahora tengo una luz de esperanza en poder ver la cabeza de Griffith rodar por el suelo mientras suena sign 2 y Guts pueda acabar su venganza en paz
I love listening to this while reading grimdark fantasy and sword & sorcery books. It fits almost any kind of manga as well, especially Berserk. Love it!
Do you mean any Berserk adaptations or any adaptations of any works (Berserk included), because there's Paprika, which was adapted from the novel of the same name by Yasutaka Tsutsui and his soundtracks in that animated film are just as solid as Berserk OST.
First heard him actually on Ruiner. I had hear the Guts theme before but never watched Berserk. Just know it from the memes. Island Door is an incredible track though and it got me hooked. Check out Ruiner lots of great music including some Witch House.
The murder track hits so hard when you know all that the Band of the Hawk could have been if nothing of that tragedy had happened. The God Hand is the most true form of evil you can imagine, they work through years to corrupt even the most good people and to make them betray their closest ones out of despair. This is really terrifying.
That’s why the black swordsman act is also so good. I see so many people say it should be skipped, but it effectively reminds the reader that the golden age won’t last forever and subtly makes us dread this eventual tragedy you’re talking about. Miura is a genius with his approach on Literature and honestly should be studied to some extent
Just one little thing: Queen's Funeral isn't a Susumu Hirasawa song, but Ennio Morricone's (Madre Assente). I guess that's why it wasn't included in the Berserk OST. That said, I don't have the album credits nearby, so I don't know if Hirasawa or any other person did retouch it.
