After playing through Pikmin in just a few hours I am now madly in love with this franchise and will definitely be playing through all the other games eventually, including Pikmin 4! Hope you all enjoyed this massive video of my whole playthrough, it was an incredibly emotional experience
Controversial Opinion: Olimar is the most compelling Nintendo protagonist. Purely because you can kind of relate to him. Him just wanting to see his family but can’t from work is a dark mirror on reality As well as Olimar not being a hero. Some people might say that Samus is because of her sad origin of witnessing Ridkey kill her parents as a kid, traumatizing her. Or maybe even the Hero of Time version of Link, being a kid and having a rough time at birth with dying parents and being given go the great deku tree to be raised as a kokiri to find out years later he’s not, having years of his life skipped and seeing Hyrule is complete chaos, to then beating Ganon and then going to Termina to save an alternate universe from destruction from the goddamn moon, to then eventually dying while trying to find his Navi. Mario, Link, Samus, for example are all destined heroes that were chosen. But what makes Olimar the most compelling is that it he may not be as tragic as other characters, but it’s one that most of us will relate to eventually, and that it’s a realistic scenario. Just an amazon worker but in space
I don't think that's very controversial...just saying. I am hard pressed to find anything to disagree on cuz like...Besides the actual pikmin, he is THE pikmin character. And opposite to nonverbal protagonists. He is extremely verbal as the one who writes all the lore and explains his own backstory which is way more amazing to me than just a silent one that has no freaking personality

I am legitimately impressed with how you not only beat the game 100%, but with several days to spare and after beating the Smoky Progg! All on your first playthrough! All that's left for this game is for you to see what happens in the bad ending (which you can look up, of course; no need to sacrifice your time or emotions going through that yourself).

Growing up with Pikmin 1+2, this was amazing and I'm glad you enjoy it a lot. I'm so excited to see how it goes in Pikmin 2 and how badly he'll do in a lot of the dungeons
I just replayed Pikmin 2 for my own reasons before the Vernation Exploration. Some of those dungeons have traps that literally require foreknowledge to avoid deaths. It'll be a blast.

Pikmin makes you feel like the father of 100 tiny carrot children Most if times you curse their stupidity in recklessly walking into enemy territory But nothing compares to a seeing a boss keel over and deflate after you absolutely rush it with your little guys

Watching you play pikmin was an emotional roller coaster. On one hand you killed half the pikmin species by giving them nectar but on the other hand seeing your reaction to the terrible pikmin AI (especially around water) was hilarious. Can't wait to see you go through pikmin 2's breed of trauma.

This was absolute joy to watch as a Pikmin veteran and I would absolutely watch you play the other games. Seeing a new player experience the empowering victories and crushing defeats of my favorite series is super entertaining. The Pikmin in the original game unfortunately have some dumb AI and pathfinding so it can make navigating terrain a little finicky (Pikmin just wandering into water or getting stuck on walls) but their AI gets better with each game. It makes me really happy to see Pikmin finally getting the mainstream attention it deserves!
