I think lavawalker and retracing bolide deserve a mention as well. Lavawalker is one of her best sets for mono pyro, and bolide is a really comfy set for anyone who is running the yunjin/zhongli combo. Slightly less normal attack bonus than shimenawa but you dont have to worry about energy drain and you basically guarantee having an unbreakable shield. Only caveat there is not a lot of people probably have a 4 bolide hanging around lol.
Actually you can also farm 4 archaic petra for yunjin alongside 4 bolide for yoimiya if you run mono pyro team with geo, the buff from archaic set can be fully utilized with yunjin for yoimiya, so win" solution?

Just remember, 100,000 damage isn't good. That much damage is excellent and more is superb. If you are getting 10,000 or more, that is pretty good. Well done.
My current favorite Yoimiya team at the moment is Overvape, with Thoma, Raiden and XQ as supports. But I've also had Vape team with Zhongli/XQ/Bennett, Melt team with Diona/Venti/Yun Jin, etc. I think the "fireworks" in Yoimiya's kit is the fact that she's built around a myriad of colorful and effective team comps, kinda like how fireworks vary in colors~
Honestly I’m very excited to get yoimiya and use her with yelan anc collie for the burgeon reaction, it’ll give her more aoe and the friendly fire is less of a probably because of her range
2 hours into playing Yoimiya and my finger is already sore from pressing my mouse's click button lol. I don't know why playing her is exhausting when I main physical Fischl, maybe it's in Yoi's rotation. So I realized she's not really my type of character playstyle, but I still consider her as the best looking Inazuma character design. Still no regrets getting her though.
Shime usage gets extremely more complicated by rotation when you use thundering pulse on her. You want to use burst first and the swap to your supports/sub dps and you want 15 energy before swapping back to yoimiya. If you happens to have too little ER you cant activate her shime buff. But if you insists on using burst at the end of rotation, you'll have her energy full already before her E duration ends, even without having ER substats which takes away thundering pulse passive. At this point you're better off with rust

You can also Opt to bring Diona especially with C6 since it acts like bennett but Elemental Mastery + shield. And If you are using Yoimiya with Shimenawa's, Diona is a good Favonius bow user so you dont have to worry about the set's energy drain. And Retracing Bolide will also be decent if you bring diona along.
If for some reason you want a shield and don't have Zhongli (like me who doesn't intend to as a waifu player), a C4 Yanfei with Prototype Amber (Preferably R5 to lessen the gear requirement) is also an option since along with shield, it also brings some heal, energy, and no off-field pyro application unlike Thoma which may ruin a rotation. I also use her with Hu Tao. Kind of hard to get and gear, but works fine with me)
I've been running Yoimiya, Beidou, Raiden, Kokomi which has been great to get the extra hydro but still have a healer. It might not be the most optimal but it's really fun and easy to play.
Just a heads up, Shimenawa is actually anti-synergistic with Thundering Pulse! If she uses Shimenawa, she cant use her burst at the start, and she will lose one of the stacks half way through. If she has TP, Echoes, Retracing Boulide, or Crimson Witch are all much better options. Otherwise, this is a phenomenal video!
I've been waiting for her since the past year (I couldn't win the 50-50), so I've pre-farmed for her ascension, talents (double crown), Shimenawa with 69/168 prob/dmg, Rust R5 level 90, but I've lost again the 50-50... Anyway, this time I was prepared, so I'm in the 61th wish after that, and I still have 19 days to get her, this time I'll get her.
Just got her, wanted to pull her since her first banner but it was also the time that I started playing so I didn't know the pity system yet. Got Raiden instead. Yoimiya is definitely a very fun character and I love her playstyle.
I crowned her normal attack two days ago. I wanted to see what her potential is and tried her on a boss. My Team was Yoimiya, Ayaka, Kazuha and Bennett. I tried it on the perpetual mechanical array and only used the salad food with 16% crit rate extra. Well she managed to hit 105k with one hit and I was shocked. She can do 65k without food buff so I was pretty happy to see that dmg. I love her since the first day I saw and got her and I can’t be more proud of her. Idc what others say. SHE IS INSANE
The Echoes set has mechanical issues that make it not so good of a choice if your latency isn't great. Before committing to it, I'd suggest anyone whose ping isn't 30 or less do a bit of research on it. And just when you thought that the Xiao set was the lackluster one from that domain. Personally, Retracing Bolide is what I'm now working toward for my Yoimiya. Since I don't have or want Zhongli, the extra shield durability is nice. And while it offers less DMG on normal attacks than Shimenawa's, I'm free to use the burst whenever.
I know this comment is two years old and maybe you've learned this already but I use echoes on 60-70 ping and still get a bunch of procs. I've seen guides recommended under 100 ping. And no one ever talks about how echoes has a unique interactions with multi hit moves and can buff them by more than any other set. Seeing her n1 or n5 get a double proc gives me tingles lmao. It also shifts the power away from her n4 so being interrupted isn't as big of a deal c:
Something to consider also is that Thoma will only steal 1/3 of her Vapes, if Thoma's shielding and pyro resonance outweighs as an advantage then running Thoma is a good choice.
I have Fully build C6 Thoma, I don't think it matters since most enemies will be dead after a full rotation, I'm assuming a fully built team like mine (2 crowned Yoimiya, Crowned C6 YunJin, C6 Thoma, Yelan) In my opinion, better go for Diona instead, cause Thoma is pretty hard to use and he doesn't have a heal, unlike Diona
if this is the unpopular opinion I want to stand against the tide Although very nice for Itto I think that it would matter a lot more to Yoimiya than it would with Itto who (in my experience in trial runs) seems to use more charge attacks than normal attacks when possible, with no major drawbacks to breaks in normal attack combos
Yeah, if I get one quality of life upgrade for her, this would be it. She obviously works fine just pew pewing from behind a beefy shield, but dodging is a lot more fun IMO.
i kinda regret pulling for kazuha rather than yelan but who knows when he's going to be back again and i wouldn't have had enough to guarantee yoimiya if i'd got both
I have a question being Yoimiya main for a year. My Yoimiya burst does 15k max damage but my normal attacks can do upto 95k and I get 3 sets of 5 normals with Noelle as shielder. So is my burst doing 15-20% of her entire kits damage? My maths is decent but I'm not sure.
i pulled yoimiya the other day and her damage is quite good. i got lucky and managed to get her weapon so i slapped it onto her and ive adapted to the shimenawa set already and shes carrying my team rn
Her icd issues aren’t just the desyncing of her vapes to hits 2 and 4 it’s also that for her to vape optimally she needs to vape on hits 1-3-5 since 1 and 4 are double hits this occurs if she finishes her attack string by the 3 hit rule however on her next attack string she needs to hit 1-3-5 again which can happen since by the end of the first string the 2.5sec rule has occurred. But the 2.5sec can be desynced too by a variety of things such as interruptions or varying range on opponent. If it does then instead of being able to vape again on 1-3-5 it will start on 2-4-1. Not saying this makes her bad or w/e just more to keep in mind while constructing her team and playing her. I personally like playing her and use her for a lot of boss things.
Great video but... 2 buts. 1st: shimenawa is not synergizing with pulsar cause you must press E, then few hits will full your Ebar again and you'll lose 3rd stack before 5th shot even on 0% ER bonus. Thats cause that you losing on-field-time off your Q for 3rd stack or pulling shots with 2stacked pulsar. 2nd: even 2stacked pulsar is stronger than t5 Rust with about 7-10% dmg, its easy to prove cause both weapons wont need rebalance your set substats and you can see how just rust passive works on same optioned set against pulsar passive +66cdmg.
I've got hu tao c1 + homa, and I'm preferring yoimiya over hu tao just cause it's soo easy to set her up and once you attack it's just spamming left click after an E skill
I got the queen in 38 pulls...she is my 1st banner chacter...and i love her....i got her in ar41 but today i reached ar45...so i need to farm artifacts...i use hanayumi...i don't have any rust......I LOVE HER😁
One glaring error here: Shim doesn't synergize with TP, rather the opposite. TP's third stack disappears the moment you have 100% energy, so having an artifact mechanic that consistently puts you 15 energy below max is horrible since you'll lose your third TP stack a bit into your rotation. This stack is up to 32% elemental damage at R5, meaning that at that point you might as as well run 2p2p with CW and essentially get the same result (32% you wont lose from weapon + 15% from 2p). Another issue with Shim is that due to the stat balancing principle, elemental damage gets relatively speaking less valuable the more damage buffs you have, such as from Kazuha, C6 Bennett, TP refines, etc. It's obviously always a positive thing to get more, but relatively less so. This is especially important since Echoes is a flat addition that benefits more the more buffs you have. Because of this, Echoes and Shim are generally very close on a high investment build off the bat. Once you take the loss of TP's third stack and the loss of ult damage into account, Shim becomes one of the worst options to put on her.
I was a shimenawa hater due to its annoying energy mechanic, but after playing with yoimiya and thundering pulse for a while, i realized that the problem lies with TP's stacking system where you lose a stack when you energy is full. I currently use 2crimson+2shime, yet i still lose stack midway her infusion with only 105% recharge. 50% dmg bonus from shime is quite powerful to cover for the lost stack from TP so you arent really forced to use burst and waste time on your pyro infusion. Just use burst at the end of the infusion, then rotate through teammates, one or two of them preferably have favonius, and a bit of funneling from bennett (if you bring him), so when you switch to yoimiya she has enough energy and can proc shimenawa
Let's be honest. the main reason yoimiya is becoming meta again is the release of yunjin. Yoimiya's first banner was in august 10th 2021, back when yunjin didn't exist. Yunjin first appeared in a banner in january 5 the next year. Yunjin boosts yoimiya's dmg so much due to her fast attack speed and double shots
Uh..,you need survivability even if you use Xinqiu. 6% healing bonus won’t cut it for Yoimiya. Not even if she’s built well. Also Shiminawa is her set as far as artifacts go. Especially if you have thundering pulse. It prevents the passive on the bow from not being proced all the time. Which is what you want. Her burst isn’t anything special. I found myself only using it if I had it at the beginning of a fight and then went through my rotations. She doesn’t proc it any, her supports do when they do something. So having her burst consistently isn’t as important as she doesn’t really benefit from it.

I'm just gonna share something about Yoimiya, her team comps, and how I play them. 1. I use Yoimiya on five different team comps; (A) Vaporize, (B) Overload, (C) occasionally Over-Vape, (D) Mono Pyro, and (E) Melt "meme". (A) /Yoimiya/ - /Yelan or Xingqui/ - /Yunjin or Bennett/ - /Diona or Yanfei or Xinyan or Thoma or Zhongli/ (B) /Yoimiya/ - /Raiden or Fischl or Shinobu or Beidou/ - /Yunjin or Bennett/ - /Diona or Yanfei or Xinyan or Thoma or Zhongli/ (C) /Yoimiya/ - /Yelan or Xingqui/ - /Raiden or Fischl or Shinobu or Beidou/ - /Diona or Yanfei or Xinyan or Thoma or Zhongli/ (D) /Yoimiya/ - /Bennett or Xiangling or Yunjin/ - /Anemo/ - /Yanfei or Xinyan or Thoma or Zhongli/ (E) /Yoimiya/ - /Ayaka/ - /Kazuha/ - /Zhongli/ 2. I follow the same format on every team comp; (1) Yoimiya burst > (2) the rest of the team > (3) Yoimiya skill > (1). If I'm almost done with the abyss floor, I usually stop following it and just save the energy for the next floor. 3. My Yoimiya has 118.8% energy recharge and she's using 4 pc Shimenawa with r5 Rust. I can cast everyone's elemental burst every rotation on every team comp except the meme comp. How? Because I abuse the Favonius and Sacrificial weapon series. I also use these supports alongside Ayato, Childe, HuTao, Klee, Diluc, Keqing, Xiao, Eula, Yanfei, and Noelle. I can also cast their burst every rotation. /Favonius/ - Yelan, Zhongli, Kazuha, Bennett, Yunjin, Xinyan, Shinobu, Xiangling /Sacrificial/ - Xingqui, Diona, Beidou /Prototype/ - Yanfei, Thoma TL;DR, imho I believe people should also focus on team synergy and energy availability rather than focus solely on damage. For example 100k is bigger than 75k but you can only cast it every other rotation unlike the 75k every rotation.
Slingshot likes normal attack damage buffs so I think you should use shimenawa or bolide, and if u wanna build ur support do bennett first since you can use him for more teams, easier to farm materials and artifacts and since u can use bad artifacts to make noblesse boxes for bennett artifacts
Depends on your timing and er i guess, if you cast the burst just before yoi catch those particle and those particle happens to be enough for shime buff but still casting it at the end is much safer
Exactly what Oscar said. With enough ER and funneling it can work but it’s going to be difficult to manage compared to just bursting after your infusion.
I have a R5 Rust, but I'm still considering Thunder Pulse because I like Yomiya a lot and I want her Best in Slot. But I hate the weapon banner system. The game always gives you the weapon you DON'T want... I want to save my Weapon banner pity for Staff of Homa or Engulf lighting whern they return.
Trust the fuck out of me, as a player who has both hu tao and yoi, I can positively say that yoi does tons more dmg than hu tao plus consistent and auto targeting. Just e and then tap normal atk and one by one she almost defeats 10-12 small enemies in one e duration.
Yoimiya is competitive in single-target damage with Hu Tao, especially on F2P accounts, and I think her ease of play plus versatility of her range advantage makes up for the difference - but Hu Tao easily pulls ahead if she can hit even one additional target, which is often. But what's great is that, since they don't need to compete for supports anymore, the correct answer to "Yoimiya or Hu Tao?" is "BOTH."
@Jeon Kim Your forgetting time spent running to enemies, and if your doing animation cancels with Hu Tao your going to run out of stamina at some point meaning no damage, something Yoimia doesn't use so will always be able to do full damage. On paper Hu Tao is better but in actual gameplay it's a lot closer than people think
@@JJennerUK finally, finally, finally someone with actual brains. As someone with both at C0R1, I've said this tons of times, yoimiya's utility, ease, and flexibility puts her at a higher tier than tao, easily. My tao has been benched since the moment I got yoimiya at her release in 2.0. tao's self utility is lacking due to HP and stamina constraints, her team utility is lacking due to restrictive/few buffers usable with her, and her on-field utility suffers due to her being both melee and grounded. In all practical situations, tao will take longer to kill aoe mobs (except large units such as 2x ruin guards) since she suffers from chases. She also needs to conserve stamina at all times, just like yoimiya needs to land her attack string. At C0, yoimiya is just superior in flexibility. Furthermore, yelan was a direct buff on yoimiya. Where xq is a permanent partner for hu, hu deals more damage than yoi when burst is included ofcourse, but when yelan is brought into yoi's equation as her best partner, the time it takes to clear the same boss evens out (I've tested it a number of times). Players are just assuming tao wins due to burst and yet their clear times on bosses are almost same, and in aoe scenarios they are situational, with yoimiya getting the upper hand in most cases due to range, flexibility, and team comps.
Are good, but not perfect: SR takes from Yoi energy and have 3rd stack on TP. The problem is that sometimes you reach 100% energy during the skill so or you lose NA dmg bonus, or you use Burst but lose some NA attacks
i have a question, if i don't care about efficacy, do I go Shimenawa's Reminiscence or Crimson Witch of Flames. it seems to be implied that if i'm using elemental reactions witch is better, but for ALL of her teams i'm using reactions so im always getting the extra 65% pyro damage, always getting the 40% overload or the 15% to vape and sometimes both and you do seem to imply in the video that the difference may not be huge but the witch outperforms, so grinding that is better yes?
I'm asking around everywhere trying to figure out what a good non shim generalist set is and what the math difference is between running something like echoes vs double 2pc attack % vs 2pc attack % + 2pc CW. Echoes seems fun and I have 15-20 ping but I also have basically 0 pieces of it and dont want to farm a new set. It also seems like a big mixed bag depending on who you talk to about it. Ultimately i'm sure they all work but more direction would be nice.
Ultimately, it depends on your choice of team. Right now you're dealing with choice paralysis because she's so damn flexible. If you're going for a full vaporize or even overvape team then 4 piece Crimson is actually a very strong pick without the conditionals of other sets. The domain is just a pain to farm. 4 piece Lavawalker works as well if you're using a mono pyro team. 2 piece Crimson 2 piece Glad/Shimenawa/Echoes is a very easy place to start no matter who you pair Yoimiya with. 4 piece Shimenawa will boost her personal damage regardless of her team comp but has the energy conditional to consider. Echoes can work but the problem is that the passive is entirely RNG. It may not matter much after a full rotation but that's up to you. My personal suggestion would be to start with the 2 piece Crimson 2 piece Glad/Shime/Echo then work towards whichever set you'd like to test for your team.

Some of what would help is if her team comps werent also so diverse. I'm leaning towards the double pyro double geo or vaporize while maintaining one of those doubles. I got time to research though since I have to get a set for Yun Jin.

It should work yes, since in theory it's similar to the other 4* team - Xinq instead of Yelan or Fischl instead of Raiden, so the team u mentioned should be fine yea

Great vid. I’m going to try out Yoimiya, Yelan, Yun Jin, and Raiden. I’m worried about Yun Jin’s energy though, and not sure what’s the best rotation (Raiden->Yun Jin->Yelan->Yoimiya?). If anyone has some advice for a lower AR player, I’d appreciate it!
EM EM CD Yoimiya, paired with EM HP HB Kuki for juicy kabooms (both above 500 EM) and Kazuha for Pyro% is quite fun. Strangely, this build deals dmg almost on par with the usual Atk Pyro% CD in vape teams... Now I'm just wondering how to capitalize Overload Yoimiya...

This month's spiral abyss is meant to showcase Yoimiya, unfortunately this also highlighted how overshadowed she is by Hu Tao or even by Xiangling. Yes, she can be a good unit and many like her aesthetics but for those who budget their limited primogems they would rather save for the upcoming Sumeru characters.
well i get what you mean by vaporize and overload teams but what if i mix them, like would that still be a good dps option- like if i do yoimiya xingiu beidou and fischl/yunjin, would that still work or should i just go for either complete vape or overload?
i only have the battle pass bow can it still work for her i’m guaranteed and im at 56 pity with some saved up pulls so i wanna make sure that bow is okay for her
yeah it is, I used it on her for like 10 months, cleared abyss 36 stars with her too (some 4 stars c6, 5 stars only c0) the most important thing is that you use Shimenawa 4 piece with it, because you're not getting any damage% like her other options. ofc you could choose to use other sets, but would recommend something that gives much damage%, since the best way to increase damage is balance different stats. More attack and crit increases over all damage less with too little damage%, and vice versa.
She easily hits 70k (c0 and no food buff just Kazoo, Yun Jin and Benny, crit is 50/160 because my luck is trash) and I can say that there's no bad character, you just don't know how to play with it.

What about the passive stack from thundering pulse doesn't she need to burst to get a stack, seems like thundering pulse and shimenawa ain't a match or it doesn't matter cause she gets a buff from the 4 piece?
the passive stack you're talking about only needs the character wielding it to not have full energy, wether its consumed by the burst or shimenawa doesnt matter. unlike the video says tho, shimenawa might not synergise as well with thundering pulse, because you could lose the stack during your rotation by filling up your energy.
if i use yelan, benett and zhongli with her do i even need to use her elemental burst cause yelan doesnt need the attack buff for more dmg output does she?
i have R3 Rust and R1 acra simulacra idk which weapon i should use for yoimiya when i get her. I have zhongli so i think acra simulcra might be bit better plus it is easier to reach 1:2 crit ratios but i havent done any damage tests to prove so and many ppl have been telling me acra simulacra is considerably worse than rust with refinements
My R5 Rust beats out my R1 Aqua. Aqua can do really well with Zhongli but honestly the safer play is to just use your R3 Rust. Many other bow characters can use Aqua while Yoimiya is one of the only Rust users in the game so it will be a while before you replace R3 Rust (which you'll eventually get refinements for R5).
I think if yoimiya has ult then u press e she lose energy but as u do atk she gets it back and at the end of her e u can just put burst, switch to other character and trigger it
@@alex_jpeg on paper it is. In actual practice it isn't. As someone who's main'd yoimiya since 2.0, her burst is never 20% of her output. It's far less than that. The burst can vape for 50% of barely her AA3. Considering 3 AA cycles per E, you are never coming close to 20%, heck you won't even hit 10%.
Very great generalist set! Lots of consistency and a good gateway to any of her three main 4-set options. There is no harm to keeping her on the 2-set combo as well just a little but less damage compared to something like 4-set Crimson Witch. Can turn the 2-set Crimson Witch into 4-set, while the other 2-set attack set can turn into either Echoes or Shimenawa's!
Generally and currently Yoi's gold standard set. Echoes is great if you have a very good internet connection, and bad otherwise Shimenawa is meh and below the 2pcs set damage wise because of its caveats and the tax hindering Yoimiya's playstyle Lavawalker is excellent on Mono Pyro, but not useful outside of it. CW is better in Overvape and Vaporize, but 2pcs is better if you want to do good damage even if you mess up your vap cpmbo.

Yoimiya has been my absolute favorite character since she came out. Glad to see she is getting the love she deserves.
My current favorite Yoimiya team at the moment is Overvape, with Thoma, Raiden and XQ as supports. But I've also had Vape team with Zhongli/XQ/Bennett, Melt team with Diona/Venti/Yun Jin, etc. I think the "fireworks" in Yoimiya's kit is the fact that she's built around a myriad of colorful and effective team comps, kinda like how fireworks vary in colors~

2 hours into playing Yoimiya and my finger is already sore from pressing my mouse's click button lol. I don't know why playing her is exhausting when I main physical Fischl, maybe it's in Yoi's rotation. So I realized she's not really my type of character playstyle, but I still consider her as the best looking Inazuma character design. Still no regrets getting her though.
Shime usage gets extremely more complicated by rotation when you use thundering pulse on her. You want to use burst first and the swap to your supports/sub dps and you want 15 energy before swapping back to yoimiya. If you happens to have too little ER you cant activate her shime buff. But if you insists on using burst at the end of rotation, you'll have her energy full already before her E duration ends, even without having ER substats which takes away thundering pulse passive. At this point you're better off with rust

You can also Opt to bring Diona especially with C6 since it acts like bennett but Elemental Mastery + shield. And If you are using Yoimiya with Shimenawa's, Diona is a good Favonius bow user so you dont have to worry about the set's energy drain. And Retracing Bolide will also be decent if you bring diona along.

If for some reason you want a shield and don't have Zhongli (like me who doesn't intend to as a waifu player), a C4 Yanfei with Prototype Amber (Preferably R5 to lessen the gear requirement) is also an option since along with shield, it also brings some heal, energy, and no off-field pyro application unlike Thoma which may ruin a rotation. I also use her with Hu Tao. Kind of hard to get and gear, but works fine with me)

I quite like Yun Jin + Xingqiu + Ganyu (full ER for burst only), Ganyu gets her burst super quick and you get a bit of freeze to help out.
I've been running Yoimiya, Beidou, Raiden, Kokomi which has been great to get the extra hydro but still have a healer. It might not be the most optimal but it's really fun and easy to play.

Just a heads up, Shimenawa is actually anti-synergistic with Thundering Pulse! If she uses Shimenawa, she cant use her burst at the start, and she will lose one of the stacks half way through. If she has TP, Echoes, Retracing Boulide, or Crimson Witch are all much better options. Otherwise, this is a phenomenal video!

I've been waiting for her since the past year (I couldn't win the 50-50), so I've pre-farmed for her ascension, talents (double crown), Shimenawa with 69/168 prob/dmg, Rust R5 level 90, but I've lost again the 50-50...
Anyway, this time I was prepared, so I'm in the 61th wish after that, and I still have 19 days to get her, this time I'll get her.

Just got her, wanted to pull her since her first banner but it was also the time that I started playing so I didn't know the pity system yet. Got Raiden instead. Yoimiya is definitely a very fun character and I love her playstyle.
I just missed being able to pull on her last banner but I'm so very glad I could get her this time. She is really great.
I crowned her normal attack two days ago. I wanted to see what her potential is and tried her on a boss. My Team was Yoimiya, Ayaka, Kazuha and Bennett. I tried it on the perpetual mechanical array and only used the salad food with 16% crit rate extra. Well she managed to hit 105k with one hit and I was shocked. She can do 65k without food buff so I was pretty happy to see that dmg. I love her since the first day I saw and got her and I can’t be more proud of her. Idc what others say. SHE IS INSANE

The Echoes set has mechanical issues that make it not so good of a choice if your latency isn't great. Before committing to it, I'd suggest anyone whose ping isn't 30 or less do a bit of research on it. And just when you thought that the Xiao set was the lackluster one from that domain.
Personally, Retracing Bolide is what I'm now working toward for my Yoimiya. Since I don't have or want Zhongli, the extra shield durability is nice. And while it offers less DMG on normal attacks than Shimenawa's, I'm free to use the burst whenever.
I know this comment is two years old and maybe you've learned this already but I use echoes on 60-70 ping and still get a bunch of procs. I've seen guides recommended under 100 ping. And no one ever talks about how echoes has a unique interactions with multi hit moves and can buff them by more than any other set. Seeing her n1 or n5 get a double proc gives me tingles lmao. It also shifts the power away from her n4 so being interrupted isn't as big of a deal c:

Yes there is
Yes there is, but if you play far enough range, Thoma won’t steal any vapes if he can’t hit anything haha
Something to consider also is that Thoma will only steal 1/3 of her Vapes, if Thoma's shielding and pyro resonance outweighs as an advantage then running Thoma is a good choice.
I have Fully build C6 Thoma, I don't think it matters since most enemies will be dead after a full rotation, I'm assuming a fully built team like mine (2 crowned Yoimiya, Crowned C6 YunJin, C6 Thoma, Yelan)
In my opinion, better go for Diona instead, cause Thoma is pretty hard to use and he doesn't have a heal, unlike Diona

Although very nice for Itto I think that it would matter a lot more to Yoimiya than it would with Itto who (in my experience in trial runs) seems to use more charge attacks than normal attacks when possible, with no major drawbacks to breaks in normal attack combos
Yeah, if I get one quality of life upgrade for her, this would be it. She obviously works fine just pew pewing from behind a beefy shield, but dodging is a lot more fun IMO.
i kinda regret pulling for kazuha rather than yelan but who knows when he's going to be back again and i wouldn't have had enough to guarantee yoimiya if i'd got both

I have a question being Yoimiya main for a year. My Yoimiya burst does 15k max damage but my normal attacks can do upto 95k and I get 3 sets of 5 normals with Noelle as shielder. So is my burst doing 15-20% of her entire kits damage? My maths is decent but I'm not sure.
i pulled yoimiya the other day and her damage is quite good. i got lucky and managed to get her weapon so i slapped it onto her and ive adapted to the shimenawa set already and shes carrying my team rn
thing is, if your me, having a C1 Hu Tao already, its hard to find a place for Yoimiya. especially when i will be trying to get the dendro archon
Her icd issues aren’t just the desyncing of her vapes to hits 2 and 4 it’s also that for her to vape optimally she needs to vape on hits 1-3-5 since 1 and 4 are double hits this occurs if she finishes her attack string by the 3 hit rule however on her next attack string she needs to hit 1-3-5 again which can happen since by the end of the first string the 2.5sec rule has occurred. But the 2.5sec can be desynced too by a variety of things such as interruptions or varying range on opponent. If it does then instead of being able to vape again on 1-3-5 it will start on 2-4-1. Not saying this makes her bad or w/e just more to keep in mind while constructing her team and playing her. I personally like playing her and use her for a lot of boss things.

Great video but... 2 buts.
1st: shimenawa is not synergizing with pulsar cause you must press E, then few hits will full your Ebar again and you'll lose 3rd stack before 5th shot even on 0% ER bonus. Thats cause that you losing on-field-time off your Q for 3rd stack or pulling shots with 2stacked pulsar.
2nd: even 2stacked pulsar is stronger than t5 Rust with about 7-10% dmg, its easy to prove cause both weapons wont need rebalance your set substats and you can see how just rust passive works on same optioned set against pulsar passive +66cdmg.
I've got hu tao c1 + homa, and I'm preferring yoimiya over hu tao just cause it's soo easy to set her up and once you attack it's just spamming left click after an E skill

This is a great video, but it only made me sad. Yoimia was the first character I ever spent money on the game for and I got Diluc instead...
If they gave her heat seeking properties in her arrows and burst, that would fix basically all her major flaws imo.
One glaring error here: Shim doesn't synergize with TP, rather the opposite. TP's third stack disappears the moment you have 100% energy, so having an artifact mechanic that consistently puts you 15 energy below max is horrible since you'll lose your third TP stack a bit into your rotation. This stack is up to 32% elemental damage at R5, meaning that at that point you might as as well run 2p2p with CW and essentially get the same result (32% you wont lose from weapon + 15% from 2p).
Another issue with Shim is that due to the stat balancing principle, elemental damage gets relatively speaking less valuable the more damage buffs you have, such as from Kazuha, C6 Bennett, TP refines, etc. It's obviously always a positive thing to get more, but relatively less so. This is especially important since Echoes is a flat addition that benefits more the more buffs you have.
Because of this, Echoes and Shim are generally very close on a high investment build off the bat. Once you take the loss of TP's third stack and the loss of ult damage into account, Shim becomes one of the worst options to put on her.
So what's the best then?
I was a shimenawa hater due to its annoying energy mechanic, but after playing with yoimiya and thundering pulse for a while, i realized that the problem lies with TP's stacking system where you lose a stack when you energy is full. I currently use 2crimson+2shime, yet i still lose stack midway her infusion with only 105% recharge. 50% dmg bonus from shime is quite powerful to cover for the lost stack from TP so you arent really forced to use burst and waste time on your pyro infusion. Just use burst at the end of the infusion, then rotate through teammates, one or two of them preferably have favonius, and a bit of funneling from bennett (if you bring him), so when you switch to yoimiya she has enough energy and can proc shimenawa

Let's be honest. the main reason yoimiya is becoming meta again is the release of yunjin.
Yoimiya's first banner was in august 10th 2021, back when yunjin didn't exist. Yunjin first appeared in a banner in january 5 the next year. Yunjin boosts yoimiya's dmg so much due to her fast attack speed and double shots
Yunjin is Yoimiya’s real signature weapon

Uh..,you need survivability even if you use Xinqiu. 6% healing bonus won’t cut it for Yoimiya. Not even if she’s built well.
Also Shiminawa is her set as far as artifacts go. Especially if you have thundering pulse. It prevents the passive on the bow from not being proced all the time. Which is what you want. Her burst isn’t anything special. I found myself only using it if I had it at the beginning of a fight and then went through my rotations. She doesn’t proc it any, her supports do when they do something. So having her burst consistently isn’t as important as she doesn’t really benefit from it.

I'm just gonna share something about Yoimiya, her team comps, and how I play them.
1. I use Yoimiya on five different team comps; (A) Vaporize, (B) Overload, (C) occasionally Over-Vape, (D) Mono Pyro, and (E) Melt "meme".
(A) /Yoimiya/ - /Yelan or Xingqui/ - /Yunjin or Bennett/ - /Diona or Yanfei or Xinyan or Thoma or Zhongli/
(B) /Yoimiya/ - /Raiden or Fischl or Shinobu or Beidou/ - /Yunjin or Bennett/ - /Diona or Yanfei or Xinyan or Thoma or Zhongli/
(C) /Yoimiya/ - /Yelan or Xingqui/ - /Raiden or Fischl or Shinobu or Beidou/ - /Diona or Yanfei or Xinyan or Thoma or Zhongli/
(D) /Yoimiya/ - /Bennett or Xiangling or Yunjin/ - /Anemo/ - /Yanfei or Xinyan or Thoma or Zhongli/
(E) /Yoimiya/ - /Ayaka/ - /Kazuha/ - /Zhongli/
2. I follow the same format on every team comp; (1) Yoimiya burst > (2) the rest of the team > (3) Yoimiya skill > (1). If I'm almost done with the abyss floor, I usually stop following it and just save the energy for the next floor.
3. My Yoimiya has 118.8% energy recharge and she's using 4 pc Shimenawa with r5 Rust. I can cast everyone's elemental burst every rotation on every team comp except the meme comp. How? Because I abuse the Favonius and Sacrificial weapon series. I also use these supports alongside Ayato, Childe, HuTao, Klee, Diluc, Keqing, Xiao, Eula, Yanfei, and Noelle. I can also cast their burst every rotation.
/Favonius/ - Yelan, Zhongli, Kazuha, Bennett, Yunjin, Xinyan, Shinobu, Xiangling
/Sacrificial/ - Xingqui, Diona, Beidou
/Prototype/ - Yanfei, Thoma
TL;DR, imho I believe people should also focus on team synergy and energy availability rather than focus solely on damage. For example 100k is bigger than 75k but you can only cast it every other rotation unlike the 75k every rotation.
My Yoimiya use slingshot. So what's the best artifact for her. I've yunjin & Benny but i haven't build them yet.
Slingshot likes normal attack damage buffs so I think you should use shimenawa or bolide, and if u wanna build ur support do bennett first since you can use him for more teams, easier to farm materials and artifacts and since u can use bad artifacts to make noblesse boxes for bennett artifacts
Shimenawa is her Best Only IF you're using Double Geo (Noelle/Zhongli and Yunjin) and Yelan since those two doesn't benefit from her Burst Buff
Just play yoimiya with Yelan and Yun Jin and watch enemies get deleted

Depends on your timing and er i guess, if you cast the burst just before yoi catch those particle and those particle happens to be enough for shime buff but still casting it at the end is much safer
Exactly what Oscar said. With enough ER and funneling it can work but it’s going to be difficult to manage compared to just bursting after your infusion.
I have a R5 Rust, but I'm still considering Thunder Pulse because I like Yomiya a lot and I want her Best in Slot. But I hate the weapon banner system. The game always gives you the weapon you DON'T want... I want to save my Weapon banner pity for Staff of Homa or Engulf lighting whern they return.

Trust the fuck out of me, as a player who has both hu tao and yoi, I can positively say that yoi does tons more dmg than hu tao plus consistent and auto targeting. Just e and then tap normal atk and one by one she almost defeats 10-12 small enemies in one e duration.

Yoimiya is competitive in single-target damage with Hu Tao, especially on F2P accounts, and I think her ease of play plus versatility of her range advantage makes up for the difference - but Hu Tao easily pulls ahead if she can hit even one additional target, which is often. But what's great is that, since they don't need to compete for supports anymore, the correct answer to "Yoimiya or Hu Tao?" is "BOTH."
@Jeon Kim Your forgetting time spent running to enemies, and if your doing animation cancels with Hu Tao your going to run out of stamina at some point meaning no damage, something Yoimia doesn't use so will always be able to do full damage.
On paper Hu Tao is better but in actual gameplay it's a lot closer than people think

@@JJennerUK finally, finally, finally someone with actual brains. As someone with both at C0R1, I've said this tons of times, yoimiya's utility, ease, and flexibility puts her at a higher tier than tao, easily. My tao has been benched since the moment I got yoimiya at her release in 2.0. tao's self utility is lacking due to HP and stamina constraints, her team utility is lacking due to restrictive/few buffers usable with her, and her on-field utility suffers due to her being both melee and grounded. In all practical situations, tao will take longer to kill aoe mobs (except large units such as 2x ruin guards) since she suffers from chases. She also needs to conserve stamina at all times, just like yoimiya needs to land her attack string. At C0, yoimiya is just superior in flexibility. Furthermore, yelan was a direct buff on yoimiya. Where xq is a permanent partner for hu, hu deals more damage than yoi when burst is included ofcourse, but when yelan is brought into yoi's equation as her best partner, the time it takes to clear the same boss evens out (I've tested it a number of times). Players are just assuming tao wins due to burst and yet their clear times on bosses are almost same, and in aoe scenarios they are situational, with yoimiya getting the upper hand in most cases due to range, flexibility, and team comps.
Maybe it’s just a lucky Shimenawa set but I’ve had no trouble casting Yoimiya’s burst after using her skill

You can technically use them together without too much trouble. But they have conflicting passives that cancel each other's potential damage out.
Are good, but not perfect:
SR takes from Yoi energy and have 3rd stack on TP.
The problem is that sometimes you reach 100% energy during the skill so or you lose NA dmg bonus, or you use Burst but lose some NA attacks
i have a question, if i don't care about efficacy, do I go Shimenawa's Reminiscence or Crimson Witch of Flames. it seems to be implied that if i'm using elemental reactions witch is better, but for ALL of her teams i'm using reactions so im always getting the extra 65% pyro damage, always getting the 40% overload or the 15% to vape and sometimes both and you do seem to imply in the video that the difference may not be huge but the witch outperforms, so grinding that is better yes?

I'm asking around everywhere trying to figure out what a good non shim generalist set is and what the math difference is between running something like echoes vs double 2pc attack % vs 2pc attack % + 2pc CW. Echoes seems fun and I have 15-20 ping but I also have basically 0 pieces of it and dont want to farm a new set. It also seems like a big mixed bag depending on who you talk to about it. Ultimately i'm sure they all work but more direction would be nice.
Ultimately, it depends on your choice of team. Right now you're dealing with choice paralysis because she's so damn flexible. If you're going for a full vaporize or even overvape team then 4 piece Crimson is actually a very strong pick without the conditionals of other sets. The domain is just a pain to farm. 4 piece Lavawalker works as well if you're using a mono pyro team. 2 piece Crimson 2 piece Glad/Shimenawa/Echoes is a very easy place to start no matter who you pair Yoimiya with. 4 piece Shimenawa will boost her personal damage regardless of her team comp but has the energy conditional to consider. Echoes can work but the problem is that the passive is entirely RNG. It may not matter much after a full rotation but that's up to you.
My personal suggestion would be to start with the 2 piece Crimson 2 piece Glad/Shime/Echo then work towards whichever set you'd like to test for your team.

Some of what would help is if her team comps werent also so diverse. I'm leaning towards the double pyro double geo or vaporize while maintaining one of those doubles. I got time to research though since I have to get a set for Yun Jin.

EM EM CD Yoimiya, paired with EM HP HB Kuki for juicy kabooms (both above 500 EM) and Kazuha for Pyro% is quite fun. Strangely, this build deals dmg almost on par with the usual Atk Pyro% CD in vape teams... Now I'm just wondering how to capitalize Overload Yoimiya...
NO ONE should farm for an echoes of an offering set. It is reliant on ping.
The only way it is actually better is IF you can be below 30 ping reliably
I was about to comment the same thing. It's not worth running unless you're a low ping gamer, until Hoyoverse fixes it to not be ping reliant in it's calculation and triggering.

This month's spiral abyss is meant to showcase Yoimiya, unfortunately this also highlighted how overshadowed she is by Hu Tao or even by Xiangling. Yes, she can be a good unit and many like her aesthetics but for those who budget their limited primogems they would rather save for the upcoming Sumeru characters.

yeah it is, I used it on her for like 10 months, cleared abyss 36 stars with her too (some 4 stars c6, 5 stars only c0)
the most important thing is that you use Shimenawa 4 piece with it, because you're not getting any damage% like her other options.
ofc you could choose to use other sets, but would recommend something that gives much damage%, since the best way to increase damage is balance different stats. More attack and crit increases over all damage less with too little damage%, and vice versa.
She easily hits 70k (c0 and no food buff just Kazoo, Yun Jin and Benny, crit is 50/160 because my luck is trash) and I can say that there's no bad character, you just don't know how to play with it.

What about the passive stack from thundering pulse doesn't she need to burst to get a stack, seems like thundering pulse and shimenawa ain't a match or it doesn't matter cause she gets a buff from the 4 piece?
the passive stack you're talking about only needs the character wielding it to not have full energy, wether its consumed by the burst or shimenawa doesnt matter.
unlike the video says tho, shimenawa might not synergise as well with thundering pulse, because you could lose the stack during your rotation by filling up your energy.

i have R3 Rust and R1 acra simulacra idk which weapon i should use for yoimiya when i get her. I have zhongli so i think acra simulcra might be bit better plus it is easier to reach 1:2 crit ratios but i havent done any damage tests to prove so and many ppl have been telling me acra simulacra is considerably worse than rust with refinements
My R5 Rust beats out my R1 Aqua. Aqua can do really well with Zhongli but honestly the safer play is to just use your R3 Rust. Many other bow characters can use Aqua while Yoimiya is one of the only Rust users in the game so it will be a while before you replace R3 Rust (which you'll eventually get refinements for R5).

The problem with Shimenawa is it removes the best part of a 5* character. The burst animation.
Yes but for Yoimiya as a dps, her burst is useless
I think if yoimiya has ult then u press e she lose energy but as u do atk she gets it back and at the end of her e u can just put burst, switch to other character and trigger it

@@alex_jpeg on paper it is. In actual practice it isn't. As someone who's main'd yoimiya since 2.0, her burst is never 20% of her output. It's far less than that. The burst can vape for 50% of barely her AA3. Considering 3 AA cycles per E, you are never coming close to 20%, heck you won't even hit 10%.

Very great generalist set! Lots of consistency and a good gateway to any of her three main 4-set options. There is no harm to keeping her on the 2-set combo as well just a little but less damage compared to something like 4-set Crimson Witch.
Can turn the 2-set Crimson Witch into 4-set, while the other 2-set attack set can turn into either Echoes or Shimenawa's!
Generally and currently Yoi's gold standard set.
Echoes is great if you have a very good internet connection, and bad otherwise
Shimenawa is meh and below the 2pcs set damage wise because of its caveats and the tax hindering Yoimiya's playstyle
Lavawalker is excellent on Mono Pyro, but not useful outside of it.
CW is better in Overvape and Vaporize, but 2pcs is better if you want to do good damage even if you mess up your vap cpmbo.
