...and so, the Emperor finally awoke, after eleven thousand years of psychic agony. He looked up, looked around him, his first movement searching the room. *"Where is Malcador?"* his first words sounded, asking his guardians clad in gold. It took a moment for the Captain-General to respond. "My lord, he passed eleven thousand years ago, on this very Throne...". *"Right..."* the Emperor responded. It would take a psychic Null not to wince in pain at the backlash from just that one word carrying such great sadness and rage. "My Lord, what is your command?" the Captain-General cautiously inquired, unsure of how to respond. *"Reinstate the legions."* The Captain-General was clearly shocked by the Emperor's command, yet his face did not betray his emotion. Little did it matter though, the Emperor's gaze laid bare the very essence of his soul. He had barely opened his mouth before the Emperor responded once more. *"No, you may not."* And like a pneumatic vice, the Captain-General's jaw slammed shut. *"I made a promise once. To an old friend. To the one who raised me, in a manner of speech... I have broken that promise."* The room filled with choked silence, and everyone present wept equally silent tears, as if by instinct. Not out of happiness for his reawakening, not out of fear for his retribution, but as a reflection of His soul. For the Emperor's very soul wept, its soundless, otherwise imperceptible influence forcing His emotion upon others. The Captain-General first thought the Emperor had lost control, but nearly as soon as that thought circled his mind, it was replaced by another. The Emperor had never been more in control, and behind the psychic tears wept through strangers' eyes laid a warp storm before which the eye of terror itself would cower in fear. *"I will never break another promise again. And what my sons have done, I promise, they will come to regret."* with each word spoken, the psychic backlash grew more intense, shifting from a dull pounding to the sharp mechanical rage of the forge hammers of Mars. *"They set the Galaxy aflame. Let it burn. Let it burn, so that they too, may know the heat of its flames as their souls burn."* The depth of His rage now apparent, the Captain-General wavered in His faith. This was not the beacon of hope he had come to know and worship. His mind raced to keep his eyes from witnessing what stood before him, but even his enhanced near post-human mind was too slow. This was the greatest monster he had ever seen, a glimpse of holy retribution, of deic wrath given physical form. This was no bringer of peace. *"They will know pain and death, like they made Malcador."* Yes, he could see it now. This was an Arbiter of War. And the Captain-General bowed his head, and now of his own volition, wept. P. S. by RUclips user @Volvith

Hey Isyander & Koda just wanted to say thanks for all the hard work you guys are doing to spread the amazing stories of the 40k universe. Also the community driven "next episode battle royal" you guys have is genius. I can't express the joy I felt learning that my Malcador team won for this video >:) Ps. White Scars!!!
First of all, I vote for the White Scars. Second of all, if memory serves, he also helped the Adeptus Mechanicus after the Martian Schism in a lot of ways. He sent Dorn and his Imperial Fist to rescue the Fabricator-Locum Zagreus Kane as well as bring Terra as much supplies as they could when Mars was lost to Chaos. When they were addressing the Binary Succession to see if the Mechanicum would stay loyal or not, he basically backed the Kane's representative to form the Adeptus Mechanicus... Granted, the loyalist Mechanicum had to march an Imperator-class Titan to the Senate; Not to attack, but to show them how easily they can do it without any major effort on their part, and if they DIDN'T approve the creation of their Adeptus, they were going to shove off with their Titan Legions elsewhere and fight to reclaim Mars on their own. Obviously the Senate backed down, Fabricator-General Kane was the first Martian High-Lord of Terra, and the rest is history. Malcador was a bro to every imperial allied faction that existed around the time of the Heresy. He really was a hero to all.
Holy shit... Amazing telling of this. Nearly brought tears to my eyes when you talked about Malcador's sacrifice, and then that he still held back put me to the very verge. Absolutely wonderful scene, and absolutely wonderful retelling of it man.

What i know about malcador before watching this video is: he is big E's friend and something like an uncle to the primarchs, he took some self improvement coaches, who not only want to exterminate your demons but also everyone else's, power swords and wrist bolters. Gave some other trigger happy people a button that can end planets. Formed a group of leather lackeys that would love nothing more then to introduce your body to their 'toys' and trained some rather dominant and quiet women to make people submissive with just their existence. After he did all that malcador got a call fron his friend big E (who at this point switched jobs from door to door salesman to IT guy). After catching up with eachother big E asked Malcador if he could do him a favor and run this 'golden chair.exe' programm on his pc while he takes care of some family issues. Malcador, being to good guy that he is, agrees and starts the programm. Unfortunately he forgot to update his driver and his watercooled cpu was about as dry as nocturn during vulcano season. He did manage to run the program long enough for big E to come back, just in time to see Malcadors body next to an exploded pc. Lets see how much i got wrong and what i didnt know yet

...and so, the Emperor finally awoke, after eleven thousand years of psychic agony.
*"Reinstate the legions."*
The Captain-General was clearly shocked by the Emperor's command, yet his face did not betray his emotion.
I have broken that promise."*
The room filled with choked silence, and everyone present wept equally silent tears, as if by instinct.
Let it burn, so that they too, may know the heat of its flames as their souls burn."*
The depth of His rage now apparent, the Captain-General wavered in His faith.
*"They will know pain and death, like they made Malcador."*
Yes, he could see it now. This was an Arbiter of War. And the Captain-General bowed his head, and now of his own volition, wept.

I absolutely adored this episode. As Iysander has been saying all along, seeing the humanity in godlike beings is what continues to bring me back. Seeing something so powerful feel basic and powerful emotions is so compelling. This episode, the delivery, everything has made Malcidor my new favorite character.
He truly was the only man that saw the emperor for who he really was.😔🐱
Only just started watching and 3:30 in Isyander out here giving the philosophically best explanation of male friendship.
Absolutely love this channel and you two are great, now I go back and continue
"I'm a demigod, that's just a _guy_ half my size!"

Malcador to Lorgar: "Don't MAKE me get your father on the phone."
I do love how these two open with the coin flip. XD (Isyander. Beat Nurgle.)

RAVENGUAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARD
@@xyndraxyndra9645 Speaking of the Raven Guard... THERE YOU ARE. Making me wait to find you. XD
I just love Koda and I want to make him my cuddle captive.
RAVENGUARD
Everybody asks "who is the Emperor?"
But nobody ever asks "how is the Emperor..."
Malcador did...
I'm hyped for a Raven Guard episode, let's goo!
The ending notes about how Malcador was the only one to truly know the Emperor were a super nice touch.
Also its rumored that Malcador told Morty about the Webway project to help him get on board.
Malcador: "He will not listen. Not to me, my Lord"
Malcador casts [SUMMON GOD]

Raven Guard sneaking in early where they're not expected
If it weren't for the Raven Guard, we wouldn't have the Raptors.
I would love a raven guard episode
They also show up underpowered as always, needing the real marines to do the job.
White Scar zoomies
Finally someone calling Malcador by his right name, Malcador the Hero.
I would love to see the Ravenguard since I rarely see people talk about them
Not got any grey hairs, but I own the old "slaves to darkness" books from the 80s and hearing the Sensei being mentioned has made my day! Always liked the concept.
Hey Isyander & Koda just wanted to say thanks for all the hard work you guys are doing to spread the amazing stories of the 40k universe. Also the community driven "next episode battle royal" you guys have is genius. I can't express the joy I felt learning that my Malcador team won for this video >:)
Ps. White Scars!!!
In a room full of young and dangerous men the old man amongst them is THE most dangerous man in that room
We need the roast god and his Legion. White Scars for the win

Man this video really hit me in the feels, also i want a raven guard episode pretty please
Maybe I'm just a sentimentalist but this was a very touching episode. My vote is for the raven guard. Rest in power Malcador.
Been here since the grey knights vid. Love your stuff guys! I wanted to get one of those first/founding 100... 😢 but I'm stoked that we FINALLY got to Malcador!
Lets see how much i got wrong and what i didnt know yet
ngl these could be 2 or 3 times longer and i'd 100% watch it.
Can I mention the incredible improvement of drip of both Isyander and Koda. Congrats on your success guys
I legit get really excited when I see a new video of you two comes up. Really glad I found your channel!
so i meaaaan.... By 30k alone, the Windows Vista Rosetta Stone software would technically be older to the Imperium than the Rosetta Stone is to us. By an order of magnitude.
I'm binging these as I build my first army, you guys are awesome

I'm soo happy you tackle the Malcador, because we don't have that much lore about him in youtube
Around 10:40: Today we discuss if the Emporer f**ks.
I love your very engagig story of malcador, you described his end so perfectly i had tears at his end...
Whitescares! FOR THE GREAT KHAN!
I'm just dipping my toes into 40k, but I do have to say that your podcast presentation, as a podcast listener from the dawn of podcasts, is on point and you deserve recognition for that
White Scars gotta go fast! FOR THE GREAT KHAN my brothers!!!
The more I watch this podcast, the more and more I appreciate it. Great stuff!
A video on the Kleptomarines (Blood Ravens) PLEASE.
@maltheri9833in the most recent space marine codex it mentions something about them having a suspiciously high number of relics that also seems to be added to after every campaign. They're definitely stealing
I liked the fan fic where they "stole" Bjorn... By which I mean they painted him red, and when he woke up went "we're totally space wolves, red is our colour, get wanna kill some stuff for us?"

I really need a Raven Guard episode. I love you White Scars, but the Raven Guard are my guys.
Guys, I love your podcast. I have loved it since the first time I found it and this has been by far my favorite episode and the one Ive been looking forward to the most. Can’t wait for the next one!
I have a theory that the emperor himself is just a psychic manifestation created by Malcador. A symbol for all mankind to rally around.
Nah, the earliest lore I recall has him as a bunch of witch doctors, shaman and other spiritual leaders that were perpetuals, and figured out they were. They decided to engage in ritual suicide to become something greater, the sum of all their parts.
@@Mure_nosthat part of the fluff is a "maybe" at best.
If you can create Big E like that, then the Eldar which is much more gifted in psychic power would have done the same
While he did not create Neoth he did create the persona of the emperor for Neoth to act
Finally caught up to the latest episode!
This is such a great series, way to go guys!
I've wanted this episode for a very long time. also white scars
There was a shoetstorry during the hprus heresy that details custodes aquiring a relic malcador required. And at the end looking in the box they felt decieved. Because it was just a rock of ruble with scratchings on it. That was the rossetta stone
Welcome love to hear some more about the white scars

Let’s go raven guard
Gaaaaah i have so many videos to catch up on because youtube stopped notifying me of your uploads. ITS BEEN THREE DAMN MONTHS.
Dude I haven’t cried in years. When the emperor’s sorrow hit I genuinely teared up. You can’t do that to me man
In my personal cannon lore malcador was one of the shamens who was tasked by the others to help guide there new body (the emperor) later on when the emperor's mind is fractured after the Herasy it's because the shamens are "out of synch" with each other idk
Malcador Greatest Failure, Not being able to wipe away Dorn's and Vulkan's tears, As they carry there broken Father to his prison with all the good intention of healing him
Id love to learn more about the raven guard!
Seeing the Emperor come closer as Koda say "You killed who?!" actually made me laugh out loud
44:49 Koda is slowly falling to Slaanesh’s touch😂😂
Khorne: rolls a strength check and gets a 1
Slaanesh: rolls to flirt and gets a natural 1
Nurgle: doesn’t even try
Tzeentch: tries to use thieves tools…and gets a 1
I come back to this video every week because of how sentimental it gets
Hopefully we can get a White Scars episode next. They're one of the most unique legions of space marines, and I'd love to see them explored further.
Malcador moves like he’s Yoda, where the frail old man is half facade/half truth, Yoda uses the force to restore a portion of his youth to him whereas Malcador uses the warp.
The mailman, the milkman. The manman, The manager, the maintenance dude, the minister, the Mman
