Living in Bacolod in a gated subdivision My wife to be , her sister, 2 dogs and 2 cats I spend about 1500 to 2000 USD per month. We will be building a house in Lete 20,000 USD Budget. not including the Lot as it is Paid for. After the house is finished I feel we will be able to budget approx 1,000. USD per month for living expenses. Our income will be considerably more than that from my Social Security and Government Pension. She owns some rice fields and will have income from them. Also we will save money on food from Raising our own Pigs, Chickens and growing Fruits and vegetables on the property for our own consumption. I am not necessarily doing that to save money but just to know where my food comes from. I feel that a 1,000 USD budget under those circumstances is Realistic. So many Vloggers are misleading people in saying that you can pay rent, Utilities, buy your food at S M and Robinson on a 1,000 USD per month Budget. Its impossible.

Hi, and thank you for the very helpful comment...sounds to me like you are well prepared. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding, hope all goes well.
Your right about so many vloggers giving very low amounts to "live" on, however in certain circumstances depending on outgoings it is possible to "just survive" not ideal situation but possible...only just..not ideal right ? Your amounts are probably more realistic...really appreciate your support
      Kind Regards
