  • Here's a very cool secret interaction to be aware of for Eyrie vs corvid interactions. Turns out being able to do something ANYTIME on your turn can open the door for cool things to occur.

    Things I never thought of in Root. This game never ceases to amaze me.

      Yep, endless possibilities in this game!

    Another option is to do the exposure attempts before the first step of birdsong to then be able to draw the free card for emergency orders. You'll either need to put that card into the decree or give it to the Corvids again if it happens to be another card you don't want to add.

      I'll be travelling for a few weeks so my normal uploading schedule will be off, so I shot a bunch of shorts yesterday and will release them steadily over the next month or so.

    What would happen in step 2 if you can't add to the decree because your hand is now empty? Does that trigger turmoil?

    • @nitrorev
      @nitrorev  Год назад +9

      Nope, turmoil is only triggered if you cannot perform an action in the decree. The answer is... Nothing, nothing happens. You don't have anything to put in the decree and you can't move backwards in birdsong to get a card so you just, proceed through your turn without having to place a card. That's why it's a cool loophole.

    You could also dom swap to put in your decree a suited card right ?

    • @nitrorev
      @nitrorev  Год назад +1

      Technically yes, but remember that Dom Swapping is only allowed in Daylight while placing a card in the decree is a Birdsong thing. You could Dom swap a card and then place it in the decree next turn but I think converting a bird card to a suited card is maybe not the best idea unless you are planning on going into Turmoil soon or some other hairbrained strategy.

    Is this outdated or am I missing something? Isn't exposure only in evening and before drawing?

    • @nitrorev
      @nitrorev  6 месяцев назад

      Exposure is "Any time on their turn". The bit about drawing cards in evening just means that if the opponent draws a card in evening they can no longer use exposure (Charm Offensive, moving in the ferry during evening, etc.). Exposure can happen in Birdsong or Daylight as long as it isn't interrupting an on-going action.

      @@nitrorev Oh man, is that what they mean? The wording was confusing and it allows so many different ways for other factions to abuse exposure that I thought it had to be in the evening. Why is did they make Corvid so bad?

    • @nitrorev

      @@MrH2O1998 Yes, the Law wording is much more clear than the plasterboard. Always consult the law when learning the rules, the boards are just reminders. I don't think they intended to make Corvids really weak, just like they didn't intend to make moles really strong. It's only something that emerges when really good players finally get their hands on the factions and find way to exploit the things that the designers didn't imagine. Crows might be on the weaker side but ADSET did a lot to give them a leg up early on. It just takes a lot of skill to master them wheras other factions like Vagabond and Woodland Alliance can just stumble into wins due to carelessness of the table.
