I always loved the look of this 66. I knew someone that picked one up in blue as his first car late 70's for$600. It had a 3 on the tree. He said it was good and loved it. This green one looks to be in very nice shape. I can't wait to see it after you give it some TLC.
Back in 1965 my Grandfather took European delivery of his 220 SE...charcoal with red interior.... in 1967 he got another one on European delivery in Cobalt Blue. I got to drive the 67 on multiple occasions... the dash panel is so classy on these cars. Enjoy the ride, Randy!!!
Love that muted green tone. Had a black '66 230, rotted to hell. (& 4 other Benzs) Front left shock mount was even rotted clean off and was amazed how well it drove. Cool car maing!
Nice snag!!! I managed to land a great deal on a 300se in the same green from a buddy 3 years ago. She's no runner though. Needs a decent amount of rejuvenating, rebuilding and some replacement parts. She is pretty much whole though and relatively rust free. Good luck on your journey. Gonna be following this!
For years the fin tails were the least desirable Mercs, making them the most affordable. It's only lately I've seen their popularity rise. They deserve the love imo. Can see why you fell for this little beauty, Randy. These babies were built to rack up the miles. Wouldn't surprise me if you made it back home (relatively) trouble free. Looking forward to the on-the-road paint rejuvenation.
Hi Randy. I love a good road trip. I have a fintail 220SE.
Dig the adventure and really like the Mercedes. Safe travels Randy.

Good Luck Randy! Hope the old girl makes it! Thanks Ray 🇨🇦
I had a 1968 Mercedes 230.

Die Radkappen sind vom Nachfolger.
Yes, 14” wheels as well, an upgrade from the stock 13”
@@Carchaeology 14" gibt es ab 1968 bei Mercedes, auch bei W 116 und W 123.
