UC Berkeley is top public and No. 4 best overall in U.S. News rankings. Is it actually any good?
UC Berkeley is located in California, more specifically, right next to San Francisco! Being less than an hour away from Silicon Valley definitely has had a big influence on the school culture at Berkeley.
Walking into campus, the first thing you'll notice is how small and compact the UC Berkeley campus feels. It's probably the smallest college campus I've been to so far in the Campus Crawl series. Right after class, it can get crowded. But that won't stop the tiny Kiwi Bot from delivering your food! That's right, UCB has robot food delivery.
College life at UC Berkeley is mostly centered around academics. However, they do have a HUGE selection of clubs you can join...Including Venture Capital Club and the HyperLoop Club (yes, the Elon Musk one). You'll probably never be bored on campus. Even if you get bored, you can always just walk five minutes out the Sather Gates and into the nearby town for some delicious food.
If you're looking to go into the tech startups scene, UC Berkeley is definitely a top choice for you. BUT it can be incredibility difficult to get admitted into because it's one of the top public universities in the country. I got a call from an Admissions counselor at UC Berkeley and they said they'd love to have me be apart of their computer science program, specifically Data Analytics... I told her that I wasn't ready and was wanting to go to trade school to receive my certification in Networking and she said it was fine and that she will check back in with me in 6-12 months to see how I'm doing. Really nice counselor named Brooke🙌

What a nice video. I spent the summer'15 in Berkeley for a internship in JBEI, in Emeryville, and my first week was exactly at this frat that u shown. But as i had to wake up very early for job, and there was a lot of people crazy for fun in the frat, it was too much for me, and I moved to I-House, but every weekend i was in the fraternity hahahaha.
I miss this place so much. Berkeley is in my heart ❤

This public university is even better than one of the most expensive private university in my country.
I live in Richmond but Berkeley is my home away from home I walk there all the time then get mad when its time to go back to Richmond. I love going to the college even though I dont got no friends there but the people still seem cool as hell and happy and enjoying themselves. I feel like the campus can be free entertainment with the skaters,dancing on the weekends, and the youngsters play their little Gladiator games or whatever in the grass on the weekend. I Brung my friend there a couple times he didnt wanna go back said it was too much LGBT going on but I dont mind im not bothering nobody and nobody is bothering me im. I never had a issue with LGBT but now I got a lot more respect for them and know that they are very strong people. Everybody is human and should all be treated the same and I know that they had been through a lot in life. I love going to Berkeley thats the closest place I can go to where I just feel like im in a big city and be around a crowd even though its not big lol. Its good to know that LGBT people have a place to go to where they can feel comfortable and not have to worry about backlash. Berkeley has taught me that there is no straight community or LGBT community its only 1 community and the College and downtown is a place for everybody.

When I went there, UC stood for: "Under Construction"... the Valley Life Sciences building, the Big Dig of the new underground Main Library stacks, Davis Hall, Hass School of Business, Hearst Gym, Harmon Gym: Spiker Pool, Stanley Hall. I used to take BART from Fruitvale in Oakland and walk all the way up the hill (usually) to my first class most semesters (not sure how/why they knew to schedule my first class the furthest distance from the Downtown station). I would have loved to have gone to the school after that dust settled, like it is in this video! I took it One Week at a Time. Some days I'd go down to Sproul Hall at lunchtime and with some pizza from Blondie's or Fat Slice, sit and listen to the Cal Band practice on the steps there. It was SUCH a Relief, on Fridays, to walk down from Cory Hall, Evans Hall and then Sather tower and stop to check the view out the Golden Gate... and if it was a particularly NICE day, without fog, one could see all the way out to the Farrallon Islands. Years later I got to go Camp out on a fishing boat around the Islands and did luck out with a nice clear day, to look back, the other way, INTO the Bay. This sure brings back memories. Thanks Hafu!
... edit: speaking of weird people - Back then there was this "Naked Guy", who was "making a statement" (rebel without a clue kinda thing), and the Regents said: okay, but, you can't wear ANY clothes of anykind in the Winter either, bc, it's your thing, right?! "Naked Guy" didn't last 4 months.

True story. I volunteered at an American Red Cross blood drive at UC Berkeley almost 20 years ago and literally dressed up as a blood drop. One of my favorite memories when doing volunteer work ;)

All I know is that all the UC’s I applied to rejected me(except Davis that waitlisted me) as a 4.0 student I thought my luck would be better but pain😭 hopefully In 2 years, but I’m glad I applied to privates because here I come USF💀

I got accepted to almost every UC including Berkeley and honestly I don't feel like I deserve it. I did go through a lot of traumatic stuff in my life. Maybe learning to balance cPTSD and school is what impressed them. I did drop out of high school too. It's hard to tell what these UCs even look for if it's not academics. I never did anything extra or cool with my life. If anything, it's mostly been miserable.
Got into no UC's (rejected from Davis) and got into every UC the very next year for the same major (CS). Admissions are bullshit, don't take it personally.

You can do it, Lex! If you don't get in out of HS, you can go to a community college (but you'll still need a 3.8 in your college classes), then transfer. It's HARD to transfer - you'll need at least a 3.8 and good extra curriculars. But, you can do it!

I would love to study there. This looks so much better than my university. :( My university looks like an office building compared to this. :( My university campus is so empty and without a soul. Everybody is going home after studying. There are no clubs and there are no people dancing. This makes me unhappy. :(

I got in Berkeley this year as a transfer student with the Bioengineering major; I just wished that I changed my major to Computer Science sooner. Now, I might have to go to other schools.

I also would want to check out their dance studios and see if they have any social dance spaces or events. I love learning and spending quality tine with people, so that combination would be FUN!
