      @Bubbly Srinath With all due respect to all the actors you’ve mentioned and this is a very personal opinion; all the actors mentioned after Kamal Hassan could be a dispute in the tag ‘genius’. Vijay Sethupathy might reach to that level in the long run. Mr Bachchan can be termed as a popular star definitely not a genius and I don’t want to talk about the other two.

    I really wish people notice Bejoy Nambiar’s movies more, he has his own narrative style and it’s really good because most filmmaker’s follow the same staple that is already beaten to death. Thanx to OTT platforms, novices like me got a chance to see malayalam movies. And what a way to start , with watching Joseph. I got hooked on to malayalam cinema so bad, that in a span of 20 days I have watched more than 30 movies. What's most appealing is that the story is the king of their movies, supported brilliantly by actors who dont go over the top to potray their roles. They just act like drivers to delivery the story with all honesty. One starts feeling connected to their cinema from the word go. And with actors like fawad, prithviraj, Shane nigam, soubin, parvathy and many more, mallu cinema will definitely make in roads to other parts of india.

    7:34 I disagree....All Malayalees with sense clearly knows that Nivin was an absolute failure in KK....He lacked screen presence and charisma to pull off that character. The cameo of Mohanlal was clearly the saving grace in otherwise a shoddy work. To answer your question, except Prithviraj to a small extent, I don't think an Asif Ali or Pranav or Fahad can do justice to a movie like Devasuram, Narasimham, The King, Commissioner, Lelam etc. Those intellectuals may downride these movies but how many can pull off these movies? Thilakan is a far superior actor than Suresh Gopi or even Mammotty...But can he justify a Joseph Alex or Aanakaatil Chackochi...I don't think so.

    • @Cinemakkaryam
      @Cinemakkaryam 4 года назад +14

      Yes, Prithvi has nailed it in Anwar and Urumi. Other than Prithvi, Dq can pull of such roles in future. Also Fahad was good in Iyobinte Pustakam. Nivin has still a long way to go in that kind of roles. Eg. Michael.

      @@Cinemakkaryam Iyobinte Pusthakam or Varathan aren't exactly Mass movie like the ones mentioned....I cannot imagine anyone from young category except Prithvi to pull off an Oormayundo...or Nee padichalla...or Ente Bheeshini... kinda dialogues with an impact...Even Prithvi will struggle because his style is pretty monotonous...DQ has a poor command over Malayalam...We saw him struggling in Kammattipaadam & Oru Yamandan Premakadha.

  • @astrasurgeon
    @astrasurgeon 3 года назад +1

    The point is, Malayalam audience is an educated audience compared to the rest of India. Most of the audience in Bollywood cinema want heroism and commercial cinema. But Malayalam cinema starting way back from Adoor Gopalakrishnan...to Bejoy Nambiar all of them have a really good knowledge about movies, the direction and particularly a story that engages people to think about the reality. That is what makes it different from rest of India. To those who've always been watching Malayalam cinema know that it didn't become great in the corona period, It was always great! And its evolving to a much higher level 💯

    I don't agree with Bejoy's point that malayalam cinema wasnt that good in 90s.Infact malayalam industry was one of the best in the country in the 80s and 90s.That era gave birth to Mohanlal,Mammooty,Suresh Gopi and dozens of outstanding world class supporting actors(which we lack today) and directors like KG George,Bharathan and Priyadarshan, writers like Padmarajan,Lohithadas and Sreenivasan..It was in 2000s that malayalam cinema deteriorated and gave duds.But it has rebirthed now with the likes of actors like Fahadh and Prithviraj and directors like Lijo pellissery,Dileesh Pothan and Alphonse puthren...But we still lack good writers and supporting actors now..80s were perfect..now is not.

    Totally disagreed with Kayamkulam kochunni. Nivin Pauly is a good actor and he performed well in Moothon. But in kochunni he miserably Failed.mohanlal saved that movie. If mohanlal was not there it was a huge flop. In New generation Asif is most underrated actor. Absolutely he is a good actor than Dulquer,nivin and jayasurya. Jayasurya is a good actor.But Most Characters with the help of make up. (same what mamootty done in Mriguya, soorya manasa-Absolutely overrated)

      Underrated performance are
      Druvam, Rajamanikyam, Kadal

      Overated performance are Mriguya, soorya manasa-, pathemari etc.. I am not telling it was a bad performance. But it's purely overated
      These character he done through make ups. So normal people are thinking it a a great performance. If someone doesn't know acting also if they make up like putturumees we would feel he is abnormal.

    why everybody talking abt malayalam movies TODAY ->
    Ans- thats bec majority indians have poor cinematic taste who watch bhojpuri , masala telugu and straight face actors like vijays , ajeeths tamil movies
    Mal movies hav alws been ahead in great content and awards at national level since 40-50 yrs...the maximum movies that get remade or copied is from Malayalm but ppl of other states dont know bec they are totally unaware of other stuff like a frog in its well...
    Mal movies dont put item songs in every film , one comedian+ hot aunty scenes + hero saving village in slow motion + one mass song with hundreds of junior artist within 30 mins of the film
    Mowadays even some mal directors are taking the telugu route of larger than life heroism + item song + hot aunty behind hero

    Very good example about prakasan movie..how malayalam 🌟 do simple role where other industry 🌟 need heroism to attract audience.I m from East but I m fan of malyalam movies and Tamil movie like asuran .. Content oriented movie...I have seen enough mass movie ..It need to stop.

    I dont understand why malayalis themselves come in such interviews and talk down their own industries !!!
    "there was a lull when even malayalis werenot talking about mal cinema" ----> in some ways , its true that comparing the standards of the 80s , content was too low in 90s but it was still better than tamil , telugu for sure...!!!!!!! i mean there are ppl who think Balayya , mahesh babu , allu arjun , chiranjeevi , Vijay and ajeeth are greatest actors on earth !!!! LOL....

    the way they question things abt Malayalam cinema , it sounds like Mal cinema never mattered earlier , and its only now that suddenly some turnaround has occured !!!!
    thats not the right way -> Mal cinema was always with top content cinema in India -> its the idiotic cinema viewer of other states like you who were never aware
    Not just Fahadh in maheshinde -> there have been such vulnerable characters done by mohanlal and mammooty some 30 yrs back too
    its the tamil and telugu superstars who are superstitious and in heroism mode their whole career

    This idiot channel uses Lucifer and Mohanlal for click bait. Reviews all releasing south indian movies except for Lucifer. But reviews Rajni and other actors larger than life characters films. Also only talks about Mohanlal doing larger than life characters. Though he has done other movies. Never ever would subscribe to you guys. And the start of the video he is talking about Fahad doing njaan prakashan and analyzing it. I don't understand. There are better movies than that. Kayamkulam kochunni was nothing without Mohanlal cameo (even the film director said it). And he is interviewing Bejoy Nambiar who has done 1 Malayalam film which is totally unlike Malayalam movies and asking about Malayalam movies.
