after five hours and at least 6 different tutorials on how to make an origami rose, this is the first one I have been able to finish!! Thank you! :)
My first two or three looked like train wrecks but now I can do them perfectly - thanks so much for this video. It's by far the best origami rose pattern I've found!
i like how your honest in the beginning saying how its not exactly easy. other videos say 'Really easy!' and its like turns out to be like crazy frickn brick hard mode

It took me a lot of time , practice and patience to learn the techniques. I made the mistakes on the first 8 roses before I could make it right! I am very happy that I can make the pretty paper rose like his. Thank you Evi for posting this tutorial!

I used a hard sheet of paper, so everything was really hard to fold - however it was secure and came out nicely - although it's not as pretty as his, but yeah - great success!!

This looks like a useful model for decorating a card or some other flat surface. Thanks for posting by the way. And I bet most who would piss and moan over this video haven't tried folding difficult models just from diagrams. You have a video showing every fold. Pause, rewind, and try again, or work on something easier until you get to this level. Realistically mimicking something organic as complex as a flower you can't expect to be simple.
It was easy... But my rose does not look as good as his :(

A valley fold is an origami term that means folding inward or away from you. Opposing from a mountain fold, the fold goes toward you, or outward.

i love how simple basic folds and tucks are used over and over until the end when you just add a flourish and tada an easy to make beautiful rose! (i have been doing origami for years and so i know how to do all those folds so i have an advangtage kekeke)

people using printing paper would find it much more difficult , it's recommended you use similar to the art paper he used , it provides the needed resistance

The thing just start getting its form at 3:00. Just make sure you do the preliminaries folders very carefully, and you most probably will get from 3:00 on easier way. (hope that helps)... and @Hebert San ... Never give up. You will tear or toss away models a couple of times before getting sucess. Believe us... it is worth :-)

I didn't do too badly for my first time, except now the more I look at it the more it looks like a nicely scrumpled up piece of paper.
Any person who says this video is too fast:
Go to the settings on the video.
Click speed. Then set it to 0.50 or 0.25. Voila! It magically slowed down!

That's actually a pretty clear video ^^. Maybe people should try some bask origami then come back to this.
It took me a few attempts but I got there! I made an exploding photo box for my sister's birthday and topped it with 10 of these I'm different sizes and colours. They looked fantastic against the black background and of course stuck well because of the flat base.

Does it need to be made by special kind of paper , I found it is difficult to follow what u do after 7 : 30 since there is not enough light , so that I don’t know which layer I should stick the paper in . Anyway ur rose is awesome and beautiful , thx for teaching^^
Managed to make something that VERY closely resembled this. I'm quite proud of myself - it was my 3rd ever origami shape and I did this first time :D
