Great tutorial. I find that regular stock origami paper isn't thick enough. You need to use firm paper but not cardstock. My paper gets moisture in it b/c I live in a rainy part of the world. It gets hard to fold models like this b/c of it.
Took some time and research compared to my original estimates, but worth it. I love how this came out. Now that I've done it once it should go much faster as I practice. Yeah! :-)

geez, i didn't think it was that easy, I managed to finish it, but it did take me a while though, I do have to admit that some of the folds came out off balance though

Don't use regular printing paper, you need a thicker one and get the folds correctly or it will not look good in the end. Thanks for the tutorial!

Hello, i think, it´s a goot idea to cut the 4 corner-triangles away instead of folding them only down
by cutting them off, you get an equal octagon.
