This was honestly the best of all the rose tutorials I’ve seen. I think what helps the most is when you reach the 3 dimensional folds, you have 2 points of reference to make sure you aligned them properly. Most tutorials only have 1, and it’s a hassle to get those to align properly anyways. To anyone in a similar situation as me or anyone having trouble with this version, let me know and I’ll gladly help out!
@@k4x1rda41 I watched a few videos and they actually add a few folds between camera cuts. All the comments praising the instructions are from accounts that look like @namename#### so I think they’re probably bots. People that don’t fit that mold are the ones saying the instructions aren’t clear. That leads me to believe they’re just creators with bad instructions that use bots to pad their crappy content
Why this is my favorite origami rose model: 1) Greatly simplifies the Kawasaki Rose. I can fold this in 3-5 minutes. 2) Looks more natural than the original Kawasaki Rose.
hey! i really liked this video. i felt that the instructions were clear and detailed enough without over doing it. i really liked the woman's voice and the little extra hints she gave as she went along. her voice is very sweet, and her tone was very kind. i also really loved the design of the rose itself. kudos!
Thank you Sara, my girlfriend and I had a great time folding this rose. We've only folded two other origami shapes before (a man and a shirt) and we nailed this one! Thank you so much!
I just wanted to say you are excellent at explaining origami. I just tried to make this rose and I did it on my first try! This is the first time I have tried to fold origami since I was a child.
Perfecttttt!! I made a prototype and have determined this model is the one! I have been looking for just the right type of rose to fold that isn't too hard or complicated but still achieves a more natural look over the boxy counterparts. Thank you Sara! Im going to fold many out of moonlight sonata's sheet music and add a yellow rose to the middle of the finished paper bouquet! A perfect graduation gift for the girl i like :)
I've been practicing the origami rose found here on RUclips by Origamite - Origami Video Instructions. After about 15 of those roses, I have it down pat. It's a nice rose, but very complex and time consuming. I am happy to have discovered your tutorial, as it is similar, but easier to fold and perfect. I succeeded on my first try and it looks quite nice. Thank you!
Mine didn’t come out as pretty, but for a first try I think it came out fairly well. It resembles a rose and that’s good. For anyone wanting to make this but getting discouraged by all the frustrated comments, I think anyone with a bit of origami experience will do fine. Update: it’s been about a day and I’m trying again. One thing I’d recommend is when you’re shaping the rose with the pen, really try to open up the center quite a bit, it’ll look a lot better and it’s something she didn’t really point out.
I did this and it was amazing! I couldn't lock the base because the tips weren't long enough, so I cheated and used tape. I'm still so proud of myself. Your tutorial was great and explained stuff really really well.
Thank you! What a beautifully simple explanation! This is the first time I've been able to comprehend folding a twisty base. You are so wonderful :D thank you :)
I love your videos! I can understand the instructions clearly... you are so talented, and I wish I could make this one for my assignment. thanks for the video!!!
made it and it made my day. i was a bit nervous about locking folds since older comments were suggesting its difficulty. perhaps my previous practice of doing similar items helped me get it done
Thank you so much for this video. I have finally achieved how to make an origami rose! :) I did have some problems with the interlocking in the end but I manage throught it! This is a great video and your voice is very clear, I could understand it well! I hope to see more of your origami videos! Again thank you! xxx
Very clear. A nice modification on a classic pattern. I like this one better and I think it's just as easy as the traditional roses. With patterns like these, I'd love a diagram of the steps to serve as a memory jogger if anyone has found one...
She edited the video. So that she could draw lines on the crease to make it easier for us to see the crease line. She is using Origami paper (Kami paper). You can buy Kami paper on amazon. And many other places..
Well done! I like how there is a space inside the rose that can be used to put an engagement ring or some other small gift. Chocolate maybe? Also it has very few pre-creases like some of the others.
Thanks so much for sharing! I can't really afford to keep fresh flowers at the moment and I've been looking for a beautiful origami substitute. And your directions were so easy to follow! Thank you for helping me decorate my home. :]
Thanks, got something very correct on the first try following your instruction and what you did!!!!! It's really nice how you took the time to demonstrate what to do, and the oral explanation help as well :D (took me an hour though, I need to train XD) edit: just finished the 4th!! made it in 20 minutes!!! really amazingly simple efficient design!!!
Congrats on folding the rose - and thanks so much for encouraging other beginners, too. You are right, patience is key and you can then be rightfully proud of yourself when you completed a beautiful rose yourself!
Really excellent tutorial, Sara. I have been trying a number of different roses trying to find the one that balances the shape with the degree of difficulty so that I can do quite a few. This is the model I have decided to use. I am going to make a long chain of them to use as garland on my origami Christmas tree for the coming Christmas. I am doing 10 models a week so 520 models for the ornaments and then the roses as the garland. If I succeed and stay on track I will link pictures at Christmas time.
This is a great tutorial! I really loved how mine turned out, although it did take a few tries. This is definitely a model for an intermediate folder, but beautiful nonetheless
Thank you so much. I'm having a hard time locking the rose but it was a good tutorial! Maybe I'll use a hard paper next time. I kind of got it the second try :)
I have been on a rose folding kick the past couple of weeks and want to fold several different kinds so that I have a variety on my Christmas tree. I am the crazy person who is folding 500 models for my Christmas tree !! It has been easy to meet my 10 a week goal, especially with staying home orders. I have been wanting to learn to fold the Naomiki Sato Blooming Rose model. He has a pictorial tutorial on his IG. I have folded the Kawasaki rose, the Fukuyama model and several basic twisted models. I posted a comment and a question to his IG and he told me about his IG tutorial and told me I would have no trouble folding it if I had folded the Kawasaki, LOL! However, I think I am a more oral learner as I cannot seem to get it right just based on the picture tutorial. I was wondering if you would consider making a video of how to fold it? I am sure he would give permission as he seems like a very nice man and has posted the picture tut. It would be a huge help to me and I am sure many others. I followed along on this video and found this really easy to fold given your instruction. I have tried to follow a lot of Masahiro Ichikawa's roses from his tutorials but since he doesn't speak and never moves his hands away from the model, it is hard to grasp what he is actually doing. He hasn't done the Blooming Rose but he has so many variations for different roses. He has folded several that have a double helix and also a version that is much flatter than the Kawasaki and Fukuyama roses. Anyway, I am rambling here in some sort of stream of consciousness. That is what happens when you live by yourself, in the wood, during stay at home orders. You end up writing books rather than comments !! Thank you again for sharing not only your talent but your ability to explain and demonstrate any model. Deborah
mothers day is coming, I'm poor to give to my mom something big, so this origami will be part of my gift.
Thanks for the vid.
I love how she says that the locking of the base of the rose is easy... That is the hardest part of the whole thing.
It's actually quite easy it was one of the first things I learned I used to make these f***erz by the dozen. Patience iz important.

I'm convinced they are folding something in the 4th dimension

I suggest beginners try this with paper they don't need to practice on. By the way, this tutorial was wonderful.
Started at 11pm to make it... it is almost 2am now... The things I do before finals
Same here X2

Your voice, your instructions, and your sweet words are as beautiful as the rose you made, thank you x
Thank you! Your comment totally made my day. :)

Some of you might want to try using a larger sheet of paper so that you can master the folding part first.
i think you are the beat teacher i ever heard on you tube...thanks...!
everyone can cook but not everyone's a chef, and you're the master chef x
I was really into origami and I watched this video, but after months of not making it, I forgot how to make it. I'm glad I found it again!
Best rose ever. Simple but effective! And your voice is so sweet and soft! Very good in explaining 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼thank you 🌹🌹🌹🙏🏻

I was blown away when you turned it over. I thought the end where you were locking the sides together was the top end of the rose.

I like watching your videos. You do an excellent job of explaining and showing what to do, making it so much easier to follow along. Great job!
Glad I'm not the only one who had a hard time with this. Managed to get it with a little patience.
Congrats! I'm glad you had the patience to finish the model, even if it challenged you.
I did this and it was amazing! I couldn't lock the base because the tips weren't long enough, so I cheated and used tape. I'm still so proud of myself. Your tutorial was great and explained stuff really really well.
This is a great detailed explanation of how to make an origami rose!
I like this particular origami rose because it looks so much like the real flower :)
Love your accent. The instructions are excellent. Thank you.
I made it! I was scared that it wouldn't stay locked, but it did! Thanks for sharing this tutorial! ♥

Ur voice is like ur reading a book and its quite exquisite
Thank you for this video! The rose is very nice and it will make a nice gift!
I thought your video was great! I made the first rose decent, but the second was no problem and it looks amazing and I used printer paper! Thanks!
Wow, thanks for this tutorial! It's similar to a Kawasaki, but without all of the prefolding, haha. I was able to fold it in under 10 minutes.
That's great to hear! I hope you enjoy your rose.
Your commentary, was kind very easy to understand.Thank you!
Thank you! watched like 10 other vids and yours was the easiest to understand haha thanks alot!

Nice! I'm glad you like it.
To those who are beginners: get a lot of patience and don't give up making it. I'm also beginner and I've made the rose and it's beautiful! :))

Practice makes perfect - or at least better. :)

Amazing! I was trying to create a diagonally oriented bariation of the one-minute rose once, but I didn't succeed. This is a very nice rose.
Couldn’t but looked really good
