I always liked how Shifu, after being so stern and serious throughout the movie, really seemed to rediscover his fun side and enjoyment of Kung Fu when he was training and competing with Po. Po was able to bring out in Shifu what was lost when Tai Lung turned on him. Shifu seemed to find pride in Kung Fu again, a wholesome, playful, pride thanks to Po.
I really liked how wen Tai Lung finally got a hold of the scroll, he opened it and saw the reflection and said: "It’s nothing." Which is honestly a clever way of showing how insecure Tai Lung because of how he placed all of his self-worth in being the Dragon Warrior. I just think it was a really nice touch.
I can't blame Tai Lung honestly, imagine training your whole life trying to reach a powerful peak of obtaining the scroll by breaking out of prison, being humiliated, and beaten up by an opponent with only a few days of training only to discover that the legendary powerful scroll was a "you believed in yourself" message, I'd be pretty pissed off too.

One of the reasons I love Oogway is that he's brutally honest. I lot of people would lie to make Po feel better. "They hate me." "They don't hate you! They just don't know you!" But Oogways like "Yeah, they hate you... But that won't last forever-" And that's a lot more powerful.

In that part where Shifu starts training Po properly, he's not only accepting Po as he is, he is also accepting the present as it is. He is actually having fun while training Po, he's smiling for one of the first times in the movie, even though Tai Lung is on his way. Po was unconsciously teaching Shifu to be at peace and to do things at his own pace. I love this movie so much.
I think what makes Po the Dragon Warrior is his genuine love of Kung Fu. Most other characters in this series see martial arts as a means to an end; power, or approval, or redemption. But Po sees martial arts as "awesome," in and of itself. He practices it because he loves it, trains with every fiber of his being because it amazes him. And it's that outlook which makes him a better martial artist than anyone else.
Some People say It’s the best in the trilogy but some people like like me say it’s a little weaker than the first The second had slightly weaker pacing, comedy and action

Very sad. Tai Lung was just utterly defeated there, and Ian McShane made him sound so perfectly pathetic that it was almost more heartbreaking than any self-doubt o had in the film. Especially when Po says he didn't understand the first time either - Tai Lung's "what?" had so much hurt & disappointment in it, it just made his end by Po even sadder because Po basically killed Tai Lung when he was a shell of himself by then.
One of my favourite visual gags in the movie is when they’re doing the acupuncture on Po if you pause you can see they just scribbled a panda on top of a chart for a tiger or something. Mantis was just fucking winging it. It also explains why the nerve attack doesn’t work on him.

Goku believed this would magically make him a better warrior, but Korin revealed it was just plain water and the real reward was the workout the boy put in to obtain it.
"Master Oogway was a troll." Dude, he was! None of this would have happened had he just not said anything about Tai-lung's return. He set the whole thing into motion and then just went "Peace out!" and fairy-dusted away and left everyone to deal with the consequences. King troll! XD
Tai Lung's pain resonates hard with post-college age melenials. Many of us have been scarred and damaged by our parents and grandparents. They refuse to apologize because they can't accept what they've done. Shifu's apology is a beautiful moment that could been the start of Tai Lung's journey to healing and inner peace, but even in this Shifu failed. Shifu's best lesson is this, real apologies hurt you too, but don't ever delay apologizing.

The Scroll is kinda genius when you really think about it. Both Po and Ty Lung wanted to be special and saw being the dragon warrior and the scroll as the key to that. When Po opens the scroll and sees nothing naturally he's confused but his father helps him realize that he never needed to be the dragon warrior to be special he was special all along and his unique way of fighting Ty Lung using everything he learned shows that no matter who you are or how you look all you need is you because your special enough as you are and that's something Shifu learns from Po through the movie. However when Ty Lung gets the scroll he sees nothing but his reflection showing how Ty Lung views himself as nothing without the dragon warrior title which is why he's so obsessed with it Oogway could see this and knew he wasn't the one and Shifu's pride in Ty Lung clouded his judgement as on the outside he saw the qualities of the Dragon Warrior but inside there was nothing.

Real talk, Tai Lung is one the most badass villians in a kids movie, maybe even in general. Love how violently the actor yells and grunts when Tai Lung is fighting. Really sells that explosive angry energy
1. This movie ans the sequel are *amazing* , just simple stories about self-improvement, dealing with traumas and past mistakes with comedy and badarse fight scenes to hold you over. 2. What I really like about this movie is how it goes the extra mile to explore the relationships between a teacher and their students through Shifu. Oogway was wise, patient and kind with Shifu and it shows. The latter practically worships the ground the former walks on. And ,yes, Oogway was a *massive* troll lol. Shifu when ir came to his first student and adopted son, allowed his pride to blind him. He filled his head with dreams of being the Dragon Warrior because he was *so sure* he would be picked. Only for it to twist and corrupt him into a monster when he didn't get the scroll. Then with the Furious Five, due to how much Tai Lung's betrayal shattered him, Shifu was *never* satisfied with anything they did and we kind if see in the sequel on how much that effected Tigress in particular. But then, once he started training Po *properly* , actually acknowledging he can't train him the way he dis the Five and Tai Lung, we see Shifu actually start to enjoy Kung Fu and being a teacher again. Hell, if you look at the way he walks you'll notice his limp isn't as bad in the last third of the movie as it was at the beginning. So, Po , for all terms and purposes, breathed new life into Shifu and made him have fun again.
I never understood how in the "Kung fu panda world" that a mantis can become a Kung fu warrior without being picked on about being a small insect. Meanwhile, Po, a literal giant bear whose only "problem" is being overweight, is suddenly not fit to be Kung fu warrior
This movie was my childhood and while I love this movie i will always think the second is better. The entire franchise can be summed down to someone looking for who they are ment to be only to realize they already had the answers they were looking for
This is the most wholesome I seen Kor ever been. Most of the time, he’s more wanting someone dead and is happy they suffer, but seeing Shifu down and him worrying like a kid would before learning Shifu is Alice, is just so precious.
I just watched this the other day, and I will not forget the first memory I had of watching this masterpiece. Seeing the satisfying scene of Shifu grabbing the jade scroll with Oogway's cane and barely touching the surface of the water, all while I was munching on Christmas tree-shaped goldfish crackers. Good times...
I agree with the "Dreamworks ceiling" statements. Disney is responsible for more of my favorite films because of the sheer volume of decent to amazing films that they produce, but most of my ABSOLUTE favorites are Dreamworks movies, because their best movies are usually better than Disney's best movies. So in a timeframe where Dreamworks and Disney produce the same amount of movies, Disney may release more bangers total, but the Dreamworks bangers are going to stand out more than the Disney bangers.
I already loved this movie but seeing Eden so excited during it made me almost as excited as the time i first watched it lol. His passion for the movie is great. (also the editor is right.)
No matter how many jokes this movie has, the oogway death scene still gets me and my Dad. He even turned to me and said that’s the best way you could go out. If I did I’d want to go like that.
All this symbolism and analysis breakdown of the movie all for it to come to "If you don't have a dad you can't be the Dragon Warrior", truly a Spilling the Milk moment.
This would be a good time to suggest to you guys to start watching KNOCKOFF movies made from foreign countries. This movie for instance has one called “The Little Panda Fighter” which is ultimately awful and needs to be made fun of to oblivion!!
I guess everyone really did love Kung Fu fighting. Also Kor's reactions were so good this video. Literal bloodshot eyes, tears and snot from the kid😂

Kung Fu Panda and How to Train Your Dragon are two trilogies both under DreamWorks that I think just about everyone loves, with each movie being a banger (and imo the second is best for each, too) Technically kids movies, yes, but my god the deeper themes that you only really notice as you get older or with repeated watches

The entire franchise can be summed down to someone looking for who they are ment to be only to realize they already had the answers they were looking for
I love how Eden’s inner child just came out while watching this movie. It was very cute!
I love how Eden is so invested in the story from admiring the art and animation to not wanting Shifu to die. It’s wholesome and funny at the same time
This is the most wholesome I seen Kor ever been. Most of the time, he’s more wanting someone dead and is happy they suffer, but seeing Shifu down and him worrying like a kid would before learning Shifu is Alice, is just so precious.
that's eden you're talking about not kor
15:28 You really just laid out my whole fascination with bridges in this video.
This channel is perfect for me
-quirky commentary
-funny jokes
-ga
10/10 will watch again
This movie is a masterpiece. I rewatched this one a few months ago, STILL makes me laugh.
When you notice the villain was looking at his own reflection while saying "It's nothing."
This is unironically one of the best Chinese films ever made.
Eden's reactions were so friking wholesome 😆 I've got invested as well
16:15 don’t be silly, it’s an embarrassing picture of Po at the Jade Palace Christmas party
It's weird yet nice seeing eden so passionate about this movie
Fun fact: The director also did the Cartoon Monsoon short “The Stump”!
21:29 Love how the F bomb is uncensored but the B word was. Truly an hilarious Spilling The Milk moment.
9:25 thats even better knowing that po is a word for ass in german
Eden made me smile so much lmao - this is definitely my favourite video of yours atm
The first two movies are genuinely incredible films, and you know the third one exists
" if all pandas are fat, then are they even fat?"
Spittin deep bars right there
I already loved this movie but seeing Eden so excited during it made me almost as excited as the time i first watched it lol. His passion for the movie is great. (also the editor is right.)
11:25 “editor, put sad kid crying”
“No”🗿
Eden was genuinely so sweet during this video 😭
I need to see a 5 hour video essay about Kung Fu Panda from Eden 😂
Man as a kid Tigress was my first cartoon crush. But it started with the show after the 2 movies.
6:44 oh man, the mollassia thatguywiththeglasses movie. now theres an old reference.
7:42 I think this is called a juxtaposition, but it is a kind of “show don’t tell” if you ask me
11:50 Oogway passes his goofy ahh onto Po.
8:54 Finally, the arc is complete, they realized
can't wait for you guys to review Kung Fu Panda 2! I loved Shen's theme and overall him as a villain.
No matter how many jokes this movie has, the oogway death scene still gets me and my Dad. He even turned to me and said that’s the best way you could go out. If I did I’d want to go like that.
Remember when Disney made villains almost as good Tai Lung?
Those were the days. 😢
Ah yes, Scar and Jaafar is probably one of the best villains in Disney
Tai lung not having a father bit hits harder when you realized he pushed his father figure in shifu away, blinded by his desires.
5:37 Actually Po is considered underweight for Pandas
All this symbolism and analysis breakdown of the movie all for it to come to "If you don't have a dad you can't be the Dragon Warrior", truly a Spilling the Milk moment.
13:42 - 13:45 Basically me whenever these guys react to a movie I love.
Actually reminded me of back in the day when my lil bro and I watched WWE and he got genuinely devastated when he watched Daniel Bryan get slammed by Kane when he had casts on. Literal bloodshot eyes, tears and snot from the kid😂
Eden in this commentary was so adorable. I need moreeee
Love Eden’s reactions to this movie ❤
Honestly I feel for tai lung. Like imagine someone telling you that you are meant to be the chosen one but you have to train your whole life, and when it's time for you to officially receive that title they tell you to fuck off.
The fact that the secret ingredient isn’t even love is funny.
11:12 more importantly two chinese philosophies.
whoa! trivia!
21:20 Goated editor
Kung Fu Panda and How to Train Your Dragon are two trilogies both under DreamWorks that I think just about everyone loves, with each movie being a banger (and imo the second is best for each, too)
Technically kids movies, yes, but my god the deeper themes that you only really notice as you get older or with repeated watches
