My wife and I were on it the week before the reviewers. What a beautiful ship! It never felt crowded and the other cruisers were pleasant to be around (a big change from the discount cruise lines). We did not eat at any of the specialty restaurants only the main dining room and the food was fantastic! I highly recommend this ship!
Very inclusive and accurate review. We've been on most cruise lines over the past 30 years, and the Celebrity Equinox is our favorite ship for all the reasons you've mentioned. I agree with the reviewer who mentioned the cleanliness of the public restrooms on board, which are also stocked with clean rolled up cloth towels to dry your hands with. These classy small touches are evident in many areas of the ship. The one negative I'd add is the seating in the MDR has often felt uncomfortably tight and close - although the room is beautiful and the food was excellent. Tables for two were sometimes a challenge as to availability and placement in the MDR. The Equinox has a beautiful vibe, and yes, the crew is a happy one.

Of the 14 cruises my husband and I have sailed (we are Gold on Carnival but will never sail on that line again...) we are preparing for our second cruise on Celebrity Equinox this November. She is the first ship we have sailed a second time and I am so appreciative of your review! (love you guys!) There is only one thing I don't like about Equinox and that is when I have to leave. I am so glad you loved it! We are packing now to go on Celebrity Equinox back to back. We are Elite on Celebrity and love them for all of the same reasons that you listed. Will take upscale over party time, anytime. We are in that stage in our lives.

As far as smoking, when I was on The Grandeur of the Seas back in 2004, there was a cigar bar. They actually sold cigars at the bar and there was a room adjacent where you could smoke. It was furnished with leather chairs, had the feel of a private club. Although you could smoke, there wasn't a cloud of smoke in the room and it didn't smell of stale smoke.
You are right about the smoking and the drinking thing, people that do one and not the other always want to complain about what the other people do.
Jenny should say.. What sucks and what didn't suck. Kinda like the jeep experience.
Great video! LOVE LOVE LOVE this ship and the people that were on it! Cruised it over 10 times, and the last one was February 2020 right before the lockdown. Can't wait to get back on it! Luxury and relaxation to the max without breaking your bank!
My husband and I have only cruised on Celebrity,we always have been very happy with them. I do agree with you about the entertainment, we have seen the magician with card tricks,that does not work in a large theatre,i this is where Celebrity needs to do better.

I'm not a smoker either. However, I don't think it's unreasonable to have a comfortable area for smokers to relax as well. After all we have separate places for adults and children, multiple styles of drinking areas, as well as places for people who want quiet time. Also this might discourage people from smoking on balconies or other areas that might lead to fire hazards.
noein road except that cigarette smoke seeps into other areas and it is not healthy for others to breathe in. They should be 30 metres off the stern as far as I am concerned. Or at least only have them at the back end of the ship, like on a river cruise.
First cruise I ever took, Carnival Tropicale, 1986. The mints on the pillows was the first time I'd ever experienced it and it was soooo special. Left a lasting memory. Fastforward thirty years later, I'm on my second cruise. Towel animals are a come-down by comparison... :( . But I've gotten over it several cruises later. Cruising is AWESOME!

Love the restrooms throughout the ship - Always clean and for us with mobility issues in wheelchairs they have the sink for washing at the correct height in the HD cap stall. Very comfortable.
I loved how large and spacious the Buffet area was. So many buffets are cramped and crowded...l loved the coffee area too! And the cake selection there!! Yum! Amazing decor absolutely.
I completely understand the frustration about smoking areas being inconvenient. However, the fact that the casino is smoke free is a HUGE selling point for me to consider Celebrity for our next cruise. In recent years I have been come very sensitive to second hand smoke and on my last cruise in August we accidently took the wrong elevators and ended up walking PAST (not through) the casino. Just that limited exposure immediately started an allergic asthmatic reaction that flared for another 2.5 weeks and could have been avoided.
You should absolutely consider celebrity for that reason. Hope you do. It was a beautiful ship and amazing service 😊Jenny

I love ships that have general seating everywhere. I like to sit and gaze out at the sea while listening to music with a drink. This is the main issue I had with Oasis. Very enclosed and not enough sitting areas. Celebrity sounds more my speed. Gotta try them.
We are booked in 2021 on the Equinox, very happy to hear your review, have never done Celebrity, even though we have done over 20 cruises, mostly Royal and Princess, looking forward to Equinox, thanks to you! The one we are booked is for 55 and over, so sure are going to enjoy it!
33 years a pack daily. 3 months smoke free. I'll be crusing in November. I am looking forward to doing so without worrying about smoking.

Good for you. Coming up to five years quit. Travelling when you aren’t looking for a place to smoke is wonderful, especially in airports.

I love Celebrity and especially the Equinox and this is a very fair and balanced review.. I can’t believe I haven’t tried Le Petit Chef yet but will definitely do it next year when I’m back on the Equinox. Love your video on that too.

This video is the exact review I was looking for. I have 2 separate back to back cruises in Ft Lauderdale (both with Princess) from Feb 25- March14. I just booked the St Patrick's Day Cruise with the Equinox March 14-21. I figured since I'm already going to be in Ft Lauderdale that day getting off Sky Princess, I may as well get on the Equinox. I love you both so much, and love all of your reviews. I am fairly new to cruising, but I did go on 10 different cruises in 2019....all with Princess. I have watched every one of your videos and love them all. Hopefully I will see you both on a cruise ship one day!
I am glad you had a fair taking on smokers.
I always find it ironic that people who are morbidly obese can sit there and make judgments on smokers or people who drink way too much.
A recent study reveals that deaths due to excess body fat and obesity have now overtaken smoking-related deaths in people older than 45.
As a smoker, I don’t sit there and tell obese people they should not gorge on 10,000 calories a day because they are on vacation. Or that I barely have room on the plane to sit in my seat. Most casinos let you smoke so if this boat does it’s one more place you cannot.
I get it. No smokers hate smoke. But if someone else has the right to treat their bodies like shit and are obese than a smoker should have the same right to smoke.
At least a smoker is aware because we are constantly shamed for our “dirty habit”.
Not sure that’s the case for the person I am always squashed next to on a plane or the one that feels the need to recline in my lap for the entire flight.
As a smoker I hear it all the time, or get the dirty looks. Just saying, I don’t hear other smokers shaming others who drink like fish or people who are obese. If others have the right to over ear and over drink a smoker should have a right to have a smoke in their designated area without others complaining about it.
Tony & Jenny, your assessment of Celebrity is bang on! Perfect video! We are committed Celebrity cruisers for ALL the reasons you mentioned. So disappointed that our Celebrity Silhouette is cancelled for our April 5th cruise so looking at the Equinox with our FCC. Thank you so much for profiling this beautiful ship & cruise line. The problem with the internet in the room is a deal killer for me. I am a business owner and need to be able to receive and send emails. I get up early and get my emails done and enjoy the rest of the day. It sounds as though everything else about the cruise is something I would enjoy. Sounds as though you had a good cruise!
Port days were a little better, still laggy but eventually data would flow a little, but was a challenge. - Tony

Thanks for this in depth review, as well as the vlogs for your cruise. It sounds like you look for similar things to us when cruising, good live music and shows, cute seating areas, great food, cleanliness and quick off and on in port. Celebrity is a line I didn't know much about but it sounds like the Equinox would be a good choice.

I’ll be on the Equinox in June 2020, and it’ll be my 2nd Celebrity cruise. My first was the smaller Millennium-class ship, Celebrity Infinity, and I had a fabulous time. Can’t wait to experience that larger Solstice-class ships. Thanks for the detailed comments and review. I loved the Martini Bar on the Infinity, so I’m looking forward to that again on the Equinox.
Booked to go on this ship in 2019 for 2020. COVID happened so the world got cancelled. Finally getting that looooong awaited trip a week on Monday. 10 days around the Caribbean....
Hi guys, I enjoy your channel. I've sailed twice on the Equinox and I totally agree with most of your comments. Very clean ship and the staff was beyond courteous. Unfortunately the entertainment as good as it was, hadn't changed between our 2 trips except for the comedians and the Franki Valli tribute. Topper and Elysium were repeats for us. We only ate in the MDR on both cruises, once in assigned dining and the 2nd time in the "anytime" dining. Both were great, lots of variety and we actually ate with the same folks around us in the anytime option. We enjoy getting to know some folks over dinner. It's a more mature cruise environment which we tend to appreciate now that we're in our 70's.
Another good video Jenny and Tony. I agree with the casino. The table was a bit pricey at $15.00 min. Like you, I enjoy the craps table the most. The table was empty when I went as well but we did get almost a full table. You had to have a good bank roll to really play the inside and to pay heavy odds.
Suzy and I enjoyed many of the things you enjoyed as well Afternoon coffee, the chef's table was absolutely amazing, and the glass blowing was also a highlight.

My wife and I have been looking for a cruise and we just booked on the Equinox because of your reviews!
As I mentioned in a comment on another of La Lido Loca’s Equinox videos my wife and I took a two week Greek Isle cruise on Equinox and a two week Baltic cruise on identical sister-ship Celebrity Silhouette. Both were in Aqua Class so a lot to relate to here. Jenny and Tony had almost all the same impressions we had (except we had a better muster experience). Very accurate in describing the food as great, and the Blu dining experience was a huge highlight. We had lower expectations for the shows than we have on some other cruise lines (no Mamma Mia here) so were were more than satisfied with what was presented. We tended to spend more time on deck sunbathing (even in the Baltic we had 80 degree weather daily) and since the La Lido crew don’t seem to enjoy that, so I will go on to say Equinox has great sunbathing space with lots of unique seating options. Don’t want to be outside? The completly indoor Solarium is a great (and quieter) relaxation experience. Tony and Jenny stressed the elegance of the ship, which we feel makes Celebrity perfect for longer, more exotic cruises such as the two we took ( and our upcoming 14 day Asia cruise on Celebrity Millennium). That is this line’s distinct personality- as opposed to the more “exciting” experience we recently had with our extended family of 9 on Allure Of The Seas. Where the Celebrity Solstice Class really shines is as a great and elegant floating hotel on which you spend half your days exploring exotic foreign destinations and half your days simply relaxing.

The homemade ice cream on celebrity is really good! If u go back on Celebrity u get a feee scoop of gelato with Captains club membership. Overall Celebrity is my favorite cruise line. The food and service are top notch!
Loved this review! We were considering an ABC cruise on the Equinox for later this year if things get going again and came across your video. We predominantly cruise on Celebrity ships and concur with your likes although I would have to say that all of those little things are true for the majority of Celebrity ships and probably are the reason we stick with that line. We have cruised on other lines like RC and Disney but they haven't equalled the Celebrity experience. All those little things add up to be so much more than the sum of their total and I can't think of a Celebrity cruise that cost us very much more than a similar itinerary on another line. Thanks again for your great videos!
Nice one guys. I must say though, they have great bars etc, which means that you would be inclined to spend money on drinks and coffee if you want to go relax at 1 of those bars. If you have an unlimited drinks package its fine, but if not u gona pay

Great review Tony and Jenny ! Besides 3 Princess cruises, we have been on 4 Celebrity cruises. Captain Kate, who you just missed, took us to Bermuda on the Summit back in May of 17. We wanted to do a Southern Caribbean with her at the helm of the Equinox last year, but things happened and we couldn't. After your review and video series, we hope to do an Equinox cruise in the near future. Thanks for all the great info and videos. 👍👍👍
30 minutes for the muster drill? That's not that bad. When I was on the NCL Getaway in July for the Baltics cruise it took over an hour. They had to do it in FIVE languages. It was putting me to sleep.
The Ensemble Lounge is one of my favorite things about the Equinox. I have seen some really great live Jazz performances there. I love having a post dinner drink there. So much fun!

I too dislike smoke but smokers are 100 x more tolerable than obnoxious, handsy drunks

I love y'alls videos, they are so balanced, Pro and Con, Good and Bad. I am so glad they aren't' an "It Sucked or It was so Great" video. We went on the Celebrity Solstice in 2013, great cruise, but then again, we're not cruise experts either, only 3 in our past, #4 is coming up next summer, NE & Canada. Love the vedios, keep up the P & C. As an x-Smoker of 1/4 Century, Even smokers should have a decent place to go, stop treating them as 2nd class Americans, contain them to a afe, comfortable place but don't segregate them to obscurity.

I totally agree a out the smoking. If you are going to invite smokers on board...and believe me you will lose customers if there is no smoking...then you need to provide them decent smoking areas to smoke in. I dont get it. I do not smoke but my husband does and he needs a spot to smoke in. Great points there!
I am not a smoker, but ships should provide comfortable and convenient smoking locations to prevent people from trying to sneak a cigarette in undesignated areas. This must certainly be a safety concern for everyone on board.
Would Tony and Jenny do a casino rundown of some of the games for newbies like Craps Table and others!? Could be good times...I think it would be fun since many might not know what to do/ understand while watching in the casinos.

Sailed on Celebrity Summit last year. Food in MDR was excellent and tons of choices for my vegetarian daughter. Loved the bread and flavored butter each night.

We’re set to cruise on the Equinox for 9 days in Nov 2021! We booked a Suite so we get to eat in Luminae but the MDR food looks so fabulous that I think we’ll be eating there more often than not 😁

I am going on the equinox it is my first Celebrity cruise, I have been on many Carnival cruises, I am doing this with just girl friends and and I love know what I going into and the videos were so good I am SOOO excited 23 days to go!!!
Cruising with Princess in a few weeks and hoping your mention of good muster comes to fruition (our first with Princess seemed to take forever)... Zoom on RC was the bomb... I couldnt believe how fast it was. Too bad Celebrity didnt upgrade to that! oh and the "supporting bad habits" (re smoking).... well the ships like to support the bad habit of drinking cuz it makes them a mint (smoking doesnt).... Ship and restaurants looked great on Celebrity. I esp liked your video coverage of the slots! :)
Has anyone ever thought to question why on some ships the internet does not work well in your cabins even with the purchase of a premium package? May it’s better in the areas that they want it to be in for a reason? So that guest spend money? Just a thought! So glad y’all had a wonderful relaxing cruise.The grass area, the archery and the glass blowing was amazing to me! War Eagle 🦅
Mark Robertson It is connected day satellite and so depends where the ship is. It is always iffy. A.though we just went on the Millenium in Asia, and throughout Vietnam and Singapore it was great.
This is Ari. We were on the maiden voyage on the Sister ship, Celebrity Solstice... Solstice class ships are esthetically beautiful, and have amazing food. I will try for aqua class, next Celebrity Cruise, if it doesn't cost a fortune. Ate dinner in Blu once and it was awesome. Even Qsine's predecessor to Le Petit Chef was wonderful. Will be on Royal Caribbean in November and we have VOOM. Will let you know if it good when used in the cabin

Great review, Equinox was our very 1st cruise 2 yrs ago this week, perfect 10 day cruise, we refer to as an adult only cruise, there was only 5 kids

I agree on smokers and drinkers. I would prefer to be around a chain smoker than a drunk the whole cruise.

It’s such a pleasure to watch all your videos and informative. I really do hope that this video or comments gets to Celebrity as we also like to
go to main theatre after dinner. This little negative point about the not so good entertainers has come out of many cruisers that have sailed Equinox. I understand the main
production shows staying the same for a while but when the other shows (comedian or illusionists)are not to par this Is disappointing.
I hope they rectify the problem before our November cruise as I want to empress my family with their first cruise.

It sounds much more up-market than Carnival. For a massive ship it didn't seem as crowded either. Great and honest review.

I agree food on Celebrity is the best.. They are known for the food..
My least favorite thing about the Equinox (and its sister ships) is the lack of a therapy-style pool, or any type of jacuzzi in the spa. I found their spa package just wasn't worth the price for the services it provided.
The Equinox is on my list. Just got off the Harmony last week (not my favorite ship) and going on the Bliss next week. I love trying out different cruise lines ships.
We sail Celebrity all the time. I also find at the coffee shop that the service can be really slow at times. It seems to depend on the time of day. Sometimes it would take forever to get service and sometimes not. I think certain times of the day they are short staffed.

As an ex smoker I’m thrilled in any type of no smoking. Also a drunk can harm himself and/or act crazy. A smoker can set a ship in fire, there is NO place for smoking on a ship as far as I am concerned. Fire is a whole different ballgame than alcohol, plus I don’t want to breath in that crap.
A lot of what you indicated, with the small touches, is similiar to the Princess cruise line...My favorite on the Princess was the International Cafe where I would go every morning for my coffee, muesli and fruit... I stayed away from the buffet...very relaxing...We are going on our first Celebrity cruise (Edge) next October. From what I understand, it is one level up from Princess. We are experiencing different cruise lines also. My husband also hits the casino and smokes...so I will not be showing him your review!! 😂😂 BUT, it can be different on the cruise we will be on, you never know..
The Muster drill on NCL was the longest that we have ever attended. It went for over an hour and there were no seats at out station as it was it the bowling area ( so we sat on the floor). Most of the people went asleep as it went on and on for ages as NCL did it in English, Spanish,German and French
i agree on you about the decor, we went on the Celebrity Infinity and there was no place where the chairs or seating or public spaces felt cheap or under thought. we thought everything about celebrity was classy even for being an older ship than what you went on. its definitely a step above royal caribbean
Really liked the summary, you should do a video on all the cruise lines with a summary like that "line A ship B is for people who..."
Celebrity does an excellent cruise. The aesthetics, finer touches, the service - everything is refined and intentional. My only complaint is similar to yours: the main stage entertainment was bizarre at best. Larry and I found it kinda surreal - we’d look at each other like “what the actual heck is that?” Very disappointed.
The hot glass experience was fantastic. I made a real piece of art I’ll have forever.
