INTIMIDATING!!! I loved this from the first time I saw it on the old ABC late night movies. This music has stuck in my head ever since. The movie is one of the greatest thrillers of all time. I saw this & "Duel" with Dennis Weaver around the same time. Another masterpiece.
the unnerving spooky feel of the music goes along PERFECT with the uneasy spooky atmosphere of the movie itself. Especially the out of tune sounding strings or whatever that is behind the brass at 1:20. That's just plain odd sounding.

I’d say we should go off of when the cars were made. In which case Christine would be the “older sister” almost lol. She’s a ‘58 Plymouth Fury, and He’s a ‘71 Lincoln Continental III

Young couple is dancing in a 80's western bar to a band playing "I love the rainy night's". They exit under the shelter of his jean jacket in a pouring rain..only to be met by the thunderous engine, chrome and terror of the CAR!!! "seeking whom he may devour"

No, this musical cue is literally medieval. Originally a funeral chant (dies irae) playwrights have been using it for spooky/supernatural scenes for centuries.
