The emergency spring brake button on the dash does that need to be pushed in or out for normal operating? The guy I bought it from said in for normal and out for parking and emergencies but I've heard otherwise also. I'm new to these things so I'm still learning
Im going Camel this is an old comment but for the sake of anyone else who watches this video - the Spring Brake Override button should be OUT (disengaged) for normal operation. Normally you have to wait until the truck builds 60-70psi in the air tanks before the brakes will release; the primary purpose of the override is to allow you to move the truck out of the way or off the road if you suffer a sudden air loss (hose rupture, tank damage, etc) or, in the event of a sudden enemy attack, you can jump in and get the truck moving immediately by hitting the override so you don't have to wait for air pressure to build. The spring brake override should *never* be used under normal conditions - it's an emergency feature only, which is why an alarm sounds and a light comes on when it's engaged. If you haven't done so already, you should download and read the -10 manual for the vehicle. It's a great resource.
No,if you own one as a personal vehicle, you can drive one with a DL.But you're restricted to haul too much Weight. Some States however do require CDL's to privately own trucks like these.
To reset the engine emergency shutdown, you need to raise the hood and manually reset the lever that the shutdown cable is attached to. You cannot simply push the lever back in and start the engine. (This is on the NHC 250 Cummins engine.)
Thank you so much for making this video.

Where can I find the manual?
Where's the lever to reset the emergency shut off? Also how do you shift gears?
It's Automatic. All of these trucks had MT654CR Allisons. The older 5 Ton Trucks like your M809's and M39's were Manual.
Is a CDL required to own a truck like this?
I do not think so

How to reset the motor emergency lever?

On my A2, there is nothing to reset under the hood. Just push the lever back in and she fires right back up.
