They need to add an enclosed metal case around the batteries, to protect them from being penetrate/damaged. So it’d need to be able to withstand the amount of force you might expect to see from a car crash. Then that’s where the secondary/backup feature comes in, add a powered type substance or whatever it is you use in fire extinguishers. And have it set up in such a way, that it’d immediately be able to dump all over the batteries, burying them as soon as the protective case takes substantial damage/gets penetrated. Idk how it’d work but I’m sure Elon/Tesla energizers could easily designing something that’s capable of that… certainly easier that getting a rocket to space and back.

Most recycling centers take car batteries. It prevents an inevitable environmental catastrophe

Take it to your local scrap metal recycler if it's a normal lead acid battery, then they'll give ya like $2. Lead acid batteries are only dangerous usually because of battery spills
The problem with mats CO2 point, even if the "clean" sources Also have a large contribution in pollution and CO2 in producing them and installing them. It's a zero sum game, carbon is just the result of doing anything
I mostly agree. I think investing in cleaning sources in a good idea (tidal, wind, solar, etc) but their definitely needs to be a calculation made about net offset.
I believe it’s inevitable that we will need to build some kind of CO2 extraction system.

Doubt it. Sadly. Seen footage from other vehicle transport ships who sunk and was then raised and ALL the cars were mangled like a coke can basically no matter where in the ship the car was when it went down. When the ship sink they go bouncing off the walls and roof and whatever else. And on top of that all electronics are destroyed from the salt water. Would be cheaper to buy a new car than try to restore even a fraction of all that. There were lambos, porches, audis, bentleys etc etc on that ship.. RIP
