Very true statement. I found Paul in the mid 90’s and have been listening to him ever since. He’s never been away for very long - always putting out new music and performing.
Where does Paul take this seemingly endless stream of inspiration for timeless, classic tunes? I'm glad I became a fan 41 years ago and he never stopped enriching my life with musical beauty& soul.
This version is definitely better than the one in the album. I listened for the first time back in 2021 when it was released and now I remember of it 🥲.
I wish people would stop slagging Paul off about his hair how old he looks and how rich he is just enjoyed the music thats what matters he one of the best if not the best singers ever
Sadly mate some people will always get off on negativity. Those people are better ignored, they've nothing going for them, so to bring the rest of us down is their only joy. Forget them and enjoy the tuneage!!
Paul Weller is and always has been a genius.I listened to the Jam way back in the seventies and he was the driving force of the band.40 years on and he is still producing amazing music. He is without doubt the best singer songwriter we have ever seen .
Paul Weller you have excelled yourself with this one. It is relaxing, uplifting and inspiring. Made my day when I heard it and I'm playing it every day. Still and always a fan .
I'm an American from Chicago. See Paul whenever he comes to town. In my opinion he may be the worlds greatest writer and performer. Nobody I know knows about Weller. Surprising to me. He would fit in great in the States.
Too funny, I'm from America and have no idea who he was (just a month ago) also I have no idea how I started listening to him the live festival Hyde park and I'm hooked! Especially the song...you do something to me 😊
Genius. A master of his craft. His back catalogue is astonishing. Something for everyone, music spanning so many genres, always from the heart. Blessed to have him. Beautiful tune, really uplifting and soulful. England’s finest imo.
Tuesday's slow, I just don't know What's happening here at all We go for days without a word Without a kiss Both looking for something that we missed I thought I'd lost you for a while Couldn't find you in a crowd Hey baby, where you been I get so lonely waiting for you Thought you didn't love me anymore I'm gonna keep our eyes on Looking for the good times Trying to stay high on Looking for the glad times Gonna keep my head up Looking for the good times Biding my time Waiting for the glad times Don't break my heart about it Things I can't change I'm try'na make sense of All that remains I got this thing about 'cha I can't change Don't you know I want you baby Just the same From nothing there Something came From nothing there Something came Hey baby, where you been? Who care if he needs a haircut or if he looks old , he keeps doing it maybe not to everyone's tastes but still up there . Good vocals and a good song .
@@CIOMBEI In a similar vein, "Frightened" (VH-1), "Light Nights" & "Cold Moments" (Paradiso) and "Invisible" (Later) and "What Would He Say" (Union Chapel) come to mind. All deserve a place on a future collection. Thankfully, the 3CD deluxe box contains the brilliant sounding Mid Sommer Musik session.
Oh Paul , that’ll do me .... you just get better and better, could stretch out in the bath , a glass of wine, close my eyes and sail away listening to this .... ahhhhhh
Haven’t listened to him in years but he clearly still ‘has it’. This isn’t a competition between young and old, but there’s a special poignancy for those of us older than our 20s who can reflect on good and bad times, that only an older performer understands. For us ‘old foggiest’ I suspect this is an absolutely smashing song.
I have been a Paul Weller fan since 1981 and he has never disappointed. I still think Sure is Sure is a lost classic. The most consistent soulful British artist of the last few decades. This is a hauntingly beautiful melody. Thank you Paul.
A song writing, continually evolving, never standing still, genius. Delivering ground breaking lyrical and musical excellence for 5 decades. Nuff said.
i know this is going to be like a dream to you.Thank you for being my fan, I have been seeing your comment on my verifying account but due to the management i cannot be able to reply your you there. Best Version (should be on record) WAO WAO !!!, on the first notes i got the Style Council's, "You are the best Thing", but afterwards its all over the place, Lyrics, uplifting beat, Voice lots of soul, R&B, PAUL IS A NEVER ENDING CREATOR. Marvin Gaye, Barry White ,etc most be listening in heaven to this great song, asking how this Brit genius keeps delivering AMAZING SONGS MODFATHER 4 EVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’ve already listened to both some hundred of times and I can agree that yt version is better in instrumentation and the sound but for me at the emotional level of conveying the message by expression of Paul’s voice the first version goes straight to the bottom of my heart. I could somehow imagine the miming and his face while singing. Even without lyrics I would know the mood. both are brilliant. thank you once again ♥️
Soul basically captivates almost every song of Mr Weller’s solo career in some specific and peculiar way. Simply captures with its emotional universalism. Fascinating! 🌹
Awesome track , completely fell in love with it from my first listen - its so addictive - can't believe that's its over 40 years since I saw you at Salford University - I think the legend of John Cooper Clarke might have been supporting - Keep up with the great work - a totally beautiful album - you should be very proud of it !!!!!
Without doubt Britain’s greatest ever singer songwriter. Keep on keeping on.
Completely agree! One of the best ever.
Nobody and I mean nobody has consistently written and made such incredible and soulful music over such a prolonged period of time as PW.
spot on
Living Legend! 😍
👌

Cant say it better, T. How good is the music !
MERCI GGBC🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
The man is pure class!!
Totally agree just so talented for all these years.
I’m seriously addicted to this song - can’t stop playing it over and over - and particularly love this version
Just heard it for the first time. I was gulping. Said to the other half, stop and listen to this. What a brilliant summer track. 👏
I've played it at least 10 times this morning! ❤
This version is definitely better than the one in the album.

Too right. But I think musicians should keep politics to themselves...Paul is a good example of this. But nevertheless he's great!
Hard to enjoy mediocrity. And you're smoking something if you think he's a great singer.

The main man and we all live in a better world when he’s still making music like this ✌️
Listening to this in the garden with a beer, late evening, as the sun goes down would be epic! This is going on the summer playlist.
Doin exactly the same..the man is a legend
Totally agree
Yep couldn't agree more. He's still amazing.
Kicking back on a rainy night in Melbourne with a nice bottle of whisky
💚Have done just that
Cheers r kid
This is mind blowing
Fantastic soulful beauty from Englands best ever singer songwriter
Glad I'm not the only one who thinks that
Holy crap, the man does not stop writing soulful pop gems. Also fantastic band.
It feels like it harks back to some of his style council gems.
Steve Cradock turns every guitar lick into a gold.
By far my favourite guitarist. Every note is played with taste and class.
Ocean Colour Scene are very underrated too.
He’s amazing
Awesome sounds on this track
Black star artisan 30 amplifiers, great sound.
Paul Weller you have excelled yourself with this one. It is relaxing, uplifting and inspiring. Made my day when I heard it and I'm playing it every day. Still and always a fan .
All the people focusing on how old Paul looks..Pathetic!!!! he is a mature guy with a great talent..❤❤...!!
That's the shallow superficial tech social media world these days unfortunately.. doesn't matter, he looks great!
@@nicholas70paul Excactly..!!
He's a silver fox for sure. The guys saying he looks old are just jealous haha.
Hugely talented songwriter at 18, still smashing it at almost 63. The epitome of it all, great song.

Biding my time
Waiting for the glad times
Don't break my heart about it
Things I can't change
I'm try'na make sense of
All that remains
I got this thing about 'cha
I can't change
Don't you know I want you baby
Just the same
From nothing there
Something came

Something came
Hey baby, where you been?

I really love Steve Craddock on the guitar, it’s one of the best things when seeing Paul Weller live
Who care if he needs a haircut or if he looks old , he keeps doing it maybe not to everyone's tastes but still up there . Good vocals and a good song .
he's 63 yrs. old . Let's see how you people look at his age!
Weller is astonishingly talented, great performer, intelligent, funny and still spunky as hell. I’d marry him..
I think he's hotter than forty hells.
@@swami19581 l think someone has beaten you to it. 😊
This is an incredible song......a master class...
Better version than the official one actually.
Absolutely, beats the official version! Prefer the Fender Rhodes and vibe of a live room over a sterile drenching in strings.
I agree with you completely
Yes! And for many other Paul songs

This is the best song I've heard last year !
Awesome, what cool song and what an even cooler man … thank you Paul.
LEGEND. And that's just a fact. Wildwood is one of my favourite albums of ALL time, was listening to it today actually.
Prefer Livewood. One of me favourite albums, check it out. Trumps it. In my opinion.
I love PW so much but still think he is criminally underrated as a songwriter and performer
Sings to your soul that man. This is an incredible song this.
