Smallest Ukulele I Have Ever Seen! Ohana Ukuleles O'Nina (SOPRANISSIMO)

- Today we will be looking at the purple Sopranissimo ukulele from Ohana ukuleles. This ukulele is a teeny tiny uke that fits in your purse! I picked up this ukulele at the 2019 NAMM show.
The purpose of this video is to show you the size, give you a playing demo so you can hear what it sounds like, and to share my experience playing and traveling with it.

It is so cute and perfect for travelling!! I didn’t realise how small the sopranissimo is when you held your next to it and I was so surprised then. I am not a fan of those smoothly coloured ukus but this one is so pretty! I loved that first part of your outro by the way!

Have the slightly bigger (at 8 1/4 ") Ohana Sopranino and love it! It's a bit of an adjustment in size but the sound out of that little thing is surprisingly loud. Great demo.

In today's fast modern technology, it's such a breath of fresh air to see people who are not glued to their devices. Thank you for sharing your experience Bernadette! How wonderful would it be if all young people and folks of all ages nowadays travelled with a uke or any portable instrument? I think that would be a great culture to start... 😲😊🤩🎶🎶🎶 I believe music makes the world a better place!

OH-A-N-ice A-ddition for the wall of Joy, this is beautiful. Proof that good things do come in small packages. 17"!!! had to get the tape measure, this whole thing comes up to the zero fret on my Flight travel uke😱 The body is almost the size of that body shaped shaker they sell. Love this color too, the matte finish richly highlights the wood grain. I've never heard of Willow wood being used before, interesting. Really like this, also for the reasons you expressed. To have this Ohana at hand, at any spare moment, is an intriguing thought. Instead of the input from social media; pause, play, and output musical love into the world. How very social of you Ms.B! That is a brilliant observation you had Ms.B 💡 Hope the notification for this comment didn't interrupt your 'issimo time. Do you have a name for this beauty cutie? H.D. omg i love it so much i need a sopranissimo , oh and you need to try the pineapple uke the TTPK-70G its so cute and its also 17 inches. I'm saving up for one of the pineapple sopranissime try the with the cute abalone inlay rosette around the sound hole

Oh wow! I have just started learning the ukelele. Day 3. I am looking for some Niall Horan songs with down strumming as I am no good at strumming. Do you have anything or are you able to do a few play alongs?
My 8 year old begged for a ukulele and she got a concert and won’t even try to learn now; I wonder if this size would be less intimidating. I’m not sure how to spark in her the excitement she had before she got the uke. It’s as if because she didn’t pick it up having some kind of magical playing gift she didn’t want to take time to learn :(
As a result I started using the ukulele myself and learning chords and songs from your tutorials I’m very grateful for them!
Keep at it! If nothing else, you are enriching your life which will flow to your family. I, too, bought a ukulele for my son back in 2012. He didn't play it, but because I recently began playing it he became interested. Be careful of UAS (Ukulele Acquisition Syndrome)...lol. Because my son wanted his uke back, I had to get another...and another...and another...LOL

I simply LOVE your explanation of O'Nina's portability and playing it during downtime. I haven't yet gotten over my fright of playing in public. I suppose with its small size, though, it's volume is not very loud?

tuning_did you tune the original strings to GCEA? Other Places I have read state to tune "up" to D, but that would mess playing with others. or change to different strings. Thanks for your answer.
I was so happy when I saw you uploaded a video about the Sopranissimo Ukulele!! I loved this little instrument from the first second I saw it on the picture on your Instagram!! A few weeks later I held one in my own hands, I nearly couldn't stand it. But they are so expensive... Have you ever seen a more affordable one (and which wasn't a toy)?

What a cute tiny-lele :) of course you can sort of tell its size by the sound, but it does still sound like a functioning Instrument. I think you are right, it looks like a great practice tool. Thanks for sharing, i didnt even know there were smaller ones than sopraninos.
