      Theirs is similar but a lot more complicated. I checked out an article about the process. "They'll then cut the roses at their peak state and use a non-toxic bleach to remove their color.
      Next, each rose is dehydrated. The roses are then injected with natural oils and a non-toxic and non-allergenic wax formula that is similar to silica. Afterwards, the roses sit in a color tank to soak in their dye." No wonder they last so long. They are actually dyed! I am too lazy to do all that : ) Brenda

    I love your video but I hate the state of Florida not just most of people but I actually hate the soil itself. sand coral whateva.
    if you want I'll help you move away from that hellscape of a place. if you disagree, give it time you'll see.
    Very informative and well produced, nice voice, pronunciation perfect. no fumfers no ums, no you knows, well prepared outstanding vid. I just can't believe anyone in Florida could produce anything of value whatsoever. I wish you luck and you have my sympathy

      I spent 30 years in FL and loved it. Miami, Gainesville, Keystone Heights, Neptune Beach, Tallahassee. Graduated from UF, UNF, and FSU. Pretty numch covered the whole state. I'd move back in a second. Glad you liked the video. We did it in our kitchen.

      That's great! I bet she loved them. I just did a presentation last night for a garden club of 30 people. Tough to wax that many at one time and some people don't list to directions. Imagein that? I have one I did 15 days ago that still looks good. If you put them outside (cool temp) or in the fridge overnight , they will last longer.

    Great tutorial! Have you ever try waxing white daisies?Mine won't retain their white color and turned brown 2 days after dipping them into how wax. Any suggestion on how to preserve their color?

    • @brendalitchfield8841
      @brendalitchfield8841 5 лет назад

      I never check this site. If they turned brown so soon it may be because the wax was too hot. Anything above 138 for whites can burn the petals. You may even want to try lower than that. The thinner/lighter in color the petals, the lower the temp.

      how long do they last once waxed?

    does it stays for years ?

    • @brendalitchfield8841
      @brendalitchfield8841 5 лет назад

      They will last for a couple weeks or more. Depends on how fresh the bloom was when it was waxed. When they fade (turn brown) you can spray paint them gold, silver, or even pink.

      My Spanish is not good.
      aceite mineral (farmacia) y cera para hacer velas.
      Aceite mineral = 125 ml
      Cera = .45 kilo
      Para llenar una olla es posible que tenga que duplicar las cantidades. Si las flores son grandes necesitarás más.
      El aceite hace que la cera sea más delgada y así mejora los pétalos.
      La cera solo hace que los pétalos sean muy duros. Flores se quedan en un minuto o más.
      Puedes hacer muchos tipos diferentes de flores de esta manera.
      Las flores oscuras (rojas) no hacen bien. Rosas, margaritas, orquídeas, son buenas. Las flores con pétalos gruesos son las mejores.
      MÁS importante - la temperatura. 280-284 C. Más alto quemará flores. Bajar la cera será demasiado gruesa.

    Would this work with Epiphyllum Night Blooming Cereus? The large white blooms???

    • @brendalitchfield8841
      @brendalitchfield8841 5 лет назад

      I just saw this. Sorry. You can try the Cereus. The problem you may have is that there are SO many delicate petals they may not hold up to the wax and bend. Anything with very thin petals does not do well.
