I just watched this back to back with Scott Mclaughlin's 2m03 from a couple of years ago and it's incredible how much faster they are now and how much smoother the circuit is, no wonder they had to run them so (comparatively) soft back then to deal with the bumps!

They got a mid season homologation pack which made the car more competitive- unlucky in the race punted off into the fence and nearly had a physical fight when he got back to the pits.

I can't recall who it was with, maybe John Goss in the Jaguar near the cutting but I think they would have been the dark horse in the 86 race.
