I can't believe you thought this was simple. That's cool though. I did watch some vids and learn how to fix some lamps on my Marantz receivers. Not sure I did it exactly right, but the results were good after repair.
Hi Great video, my tape counter belt is rotted away like this too, and I noticed the tape also spins very fast on normal play but the main belt looks ok. Does the counter belt affect the main tape speed or is something else making it run too fast on play, maybe the belt id bad and making it run fast. Thanks for your info.
I have an issue with my kx250, when it play the tape it sounds fine for about 3 seconds and then all the high frequencies disappear. Could this be a belt related issue?

there's a neat shop out in Colorado called Bob's Vintage Electronics, google them. They carry pretty affordable belt kits for hundreds of models. I'm repairing a K-960 right now.

How do you get that first plug/connector off! It won't budge and I feel like I am going to pull the wires out. Is there a trick to getting these out?
How many centimeters or what is the measurement of the strap you are changing?

@@carolinesilvaquitoni4419 looks like capstan belts for the 250 are available on Ebay. You'll probably need a smaller belt for the counter as well
No need to remove motor Just put on belt it’s wide open
