Not gonna lie Dave, One of the best videos that was totally intriguing beginning to end. By the way, You Sir are fantastic at interviewing people. Wish they had more time where you could have done a 2nd with them detailing that set up. Thanks for sharing.
This is damn good informative video hotshot..The best I ever seen when it comes to big rig and goose necks... Farmers do pull goose necks with semis but 90% dont mess with no brake system or lights as they are doing their own local moving equipment and hay on the back roads.. Two thumbs up for this one...
Hi Dave, I normally don’t write comments about videos but this one is a prize winner. I was very impressed with how you guided the conversation with pertinent questions while keeping the discussion moving. It’s not often you find a video full of useful information learned the hard way. Thanks for talking time out of your busy day to help ease the pain of life’s lessons for the novice. Nice work.
Hey guys I'm a member of the HDT rv conversions. This setup is similar to what us heavy duty rv haulers have. In my current truck a 2015 peterbuilt 579 I have shortened it to the same length as a crew cab dually. To convert the truck over to electric trailer is simple. The converter box is called a Jackolopee and it was designed by a genius fellow from Florida named Henry Schmitt. The box is so simple to install.
If your going to hot shot this is the vehicle to use, but then again if your going this far I say go all the way, get a twin screw a Fontaine 48’ step deck and haul freight
I wish you had followed the title of the video and spoke on why they chose the single axle versus the double axle. I really wanted to hear about that and the reasoning behind it. Hope you get a chance to interview them again.
GREAT VIDEO DAVE ! It would be interesting to know if the drive axle weight concerns will surface once they change to the new step deck. When are we going to spotlight me and my single axle with the 5 car sun country that you so HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ME TO GO WITH 😂🤣😂🤣😂 HAHA JUST KIDDING BROTHER. Be safe out there and we will talk soon. Make that $$$$$
If someone is going to hot shot with a semi and gooseneck why not just get a 48 ft semi flat bed. Is it just cost? When does hot shot trucking become full semi trucking?
That was my debate as I have a semi and a goose neck for the farm..Buying a older 48 foot step deck to haul equipment. These grain hauling rates are in the gutter.. I mean all the brokers have offers around 2.30-2.50 per mile..Thats 1.15 all miles minus 1 dollar per mile expenses...Ummmm this aint gonna work...It can be difficult to find back hauls on grain..
Hi guys!! I did Hotshot trucking back in the early 90's How are you guys doing?? It's something to consider, I wouldn't mind giving it a go again. Is there a recommended year truck to have to start with? Some of these brokerage companies require certain gaudlines. And I do not want to ever go to NJ or NY
Where are you finding Single Axle Sleepers? It’s hard to find these newer 2015+ with decent size sleepers. The cost to single one seems outrageous. I’m so mad at myself, I had a Peterbilt 337 Single w/ Sleeper, 56,000 miles and the dealer was calling me and essentially begging me to take it for $52k and I hesitated because I couldn’t figure out why a large dealer couldn’t sell that truck. He sold it 2 days later when I called to say I’ll take it
I don’t understand how you can scale 38k on a 25gn. The trailer weighs 9k probably so doing the math seems like you are going to crush this trailer, but good luck and be safe
Derek Carter I mean in a team they could move and earn twice faster. I can imagine that he maybe could loose his DL for smth like DUI ))) Or after an accident his insurance is way higher )))
Good old Montana folks!! Be safe you guys!
Keep that attitude awesome . I do not run in bad weather . I have 32 years experience. I only run until I can get to a safe spot

Thank you very much
I know how she feels! I've been on the ambulance for 17 years. I'm done with it! I'll be driving a truck in less than a month! Can't wait!

They answered it. They don’t plan on hauling real heavy.
@@Hotshotdave but is it worth it. ? I want to get a single axle because it’s cheaper but will I find loads
Great video if I ever try hotshot or rv transport I would buy single axle semi automatic
Looks like it use to be a Fedex specs truck. Single axle that what they use in most cases
Great interview!! A lot of information!!
Great video I was always thinking about that setup there smaller semi that might be better on fuel and for one person
I miss your trucking videos. Just going over this one even though I seen it last year. GET BACK IN A TRUCK
Nice setup
Nice job dave 👍✌
Great video
Gem of a video !!!
Why didn’t you buy a aluminum step deck single axle for less money then a diamond c. And the diamond c is almost 14k empty weight

Still waiting on you to be ready. I love to say I told you. But what do I know

Hi guys!!
I did Hotshot trucking back in the early 90's

Some of these brokerage companies require certain gaudlines.
And I do not want to ever go to NJ or NY
I wonder what keeps them from pulling a 53' stepdeck or flatbed: more payload, right?
How much can you carry on that single axle
Gross 73-280

Haha my uncle is a trucker and says that same thing.I may be some dumb but I ain’t plumb dumb 😂
How much did he buy the truck?
what up hotshot

Everyone forgets that the truck g
Carries weight. It's a combine unit for a reason
so did they have their own authority or were they leased on?
Own Authority
Buy a 22k air brake axle take the junk dexter axles off. Save on tolls and tires and have a better set up
Why the man doesn’t drive? Looks weird )))
Wish I could just ride around too. Sounds like he will tell ya it’s his deal when it seems to be the wife’s for sure.
Derek Carter I mean in a team they could move and earn twice faster. I can imagine that he maybe could loose his DL for smth like DUI ))) Or after an accident his insurance is way higher )))
Health issues. He equalibrium is off.
Think it was motorcycle accident
Hotshot Dave oh, its a pity. Bikes are killers...
Uuugggghhh why not run a full size commercial rig
1st
don't even bother trucking of any kind if you are using motels
