I have listened to this album for so long, had it on vinyl, cassette, cds, and this remains one of my favorite songs from it

I really do love how the version of this song sounds and the visuals when he is a kid walking up to his adult self is my favourite in the whole movie, I still have that image on a shirt I've had since I was 14 years old.

The bit from 3:51 to 4:19 I interpret as Young Pink coming face to face with what he will turn into from the drugs and isolation behind The Wall. It scares Young Pink, so he tries to find his adult self to warn him of what he will become if he stays on the path that his adult self is on Young Pink then finds his adult self and realizes its too late.
That is what it’s about isn’t it. I’m a recovering iv drug user, I get that for sure. And of course it’s too late for young pink. It’s destiny, can’t stop it. We’re going to be what we’re gonna be.
