It’s a Klon circuit. It sounds like all other Klon circuits plus or minus individual component tolerances. People seriously talking about the comparative audio differences between the notaklon and the original are totally clueless about the point of the entire NAK exercise. That exercise, btw, is self-evidently genius.
Josh is the king of "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all". I think that the Notaklon is pure genius. Hat's off to Josh and Co. you guys are great.
JHS is great. To any trolls or haters: Start your own pedal company, start your own RUclips show, gain the respect of industry experts and great musicians and then come back and make your comments. Keep going Josh and team, you guys rock!
I love how genuine and entertaining this channel is. I wish all of RUclips was like this.. especially in the Guitar Gear world. We can all learn something and have a laugh at the same time

When you did the video about “should JHS release a Klon” (paraphrased) video I had a glimmer of hope you would release one. I had a JHS Klon years ago and sold it to pay rent. Been wanting one for a long time. I’m grateful you released the Notaklon. I’m excited to try mine when it arrives and I’m glad you were able to do this for the community and your employees. Especially just before Christmas!
I think that this is one of the coolest pedal concepts ever and you guys are some of, if not the most creative pedal makers in the biz. I would love to see your take on an octaver pedal someday. Keep on keeping on!
I just put in my order for a NOTAKLÖN and I’m soooooo excited. The pedal is exciting of course but what I'm REALLY excited about is the Goop. All my life I’ve dreamed of having my very own Goop. I think you’ve really got something here. You should think of marketing Goop as a separate product. You could open up a vast new market and make Goop a household name, like Coke. You could even make it available in different colors. Even different flavors. You could have regular Goop and Diet Goop or New Goop and Classic Goop. Just think of the possibilities. (Goop Clear?) Goop is the Future! Together, we can change the world, with Goop! Seriously, I think the NOTAKLÖN is a brilliant concept. I love the stuff you do and I wish you all the best.
I'd love to see more kits from JHS. Maybe some educational leveling up type of pedals. Obviously this would be preschool and you could progress to just a box of components with PCB etching supplies. Eventually the customers could design the pedals for JHS as part of their dissertation in order to earn a PhD from JHS University. Instead of pedal history high school you could start a pedal building university and we could become a Dr of pedals accredited by JHS University. Feel free to use the idea because I'm sure you already thought of anyway 😉 I just want a JHS University letterman jacket. Sorry I got off track, excuse me while my ADD kicks in. 🌪️🕺🤺💨
The biggest trouble for all enthusiasts will be that Josh's new Klon pedal will have ALL NEW PARTS with current high quality manufacturing techniques. If you have an original or older clone of the pedal you are going to be experiencing the bane of electronics which is older capacitors which will no doubt be dryer than a brand new component and this will have some minor impact on the sound. The problem is that without getting in a time machine and bringing a 70's brand new pedal into 2023 and comparing that to the Notaklon, then you would hear no difference except for another interesting fact, grab 2 brand new pedals that are the same and compare them, your going to hear a slight difference and that will not be the circuit it's the fact that not even 2 potentiometers have exactly the same values, one will have slightly more or slightly less resistance to the other. For all intents and purposes it's practicality irrelevant to the circuit but give some pedals slightly more or less gain/volume etc than another. We are talking fractions of a difference here and let's not forget your guitar and amp setup. I've had 2 Yamaha DX7 synthesizers for example and one sounded different to the other just because one was manufactured earlier to the other but overall the sound of either was that classic undeniable FM DX7 sound. Essentially if your getting that picky, buy 10 Notaklons and pick the one that's closest for your ears to satisfy your over the top picky ears and problem solved. Josh I applaud your efforts to bring a nice simple kit to the market which gives enthusiasts a nice easy to build kit to enjoy. If people building the pedal like this themselves reduces cost I'm all for it. The only negative will be the heavy handed guitarist who breaks a circuit board in half etc. Also fellow guitarists, be aware the build construction quality is now in your own hands so you can't go winging about it to anyone but yourself but there is the price for getting a cost reduced bargain kit. So stop your nonsense and just enjoy this wonderful classic pedal with no more excuses not to own and enjoy one. Rock on JHS team!!!
OMG!!!!! Unrelated to NOTAKLON, I had just spent 2 hours rerouting my PC cables and the first thing I did that had a sound component was start this video. I was checking, double checking, and triple checking my audio cables at both ends until it was revealed your mic was in your pocket. Arghhh!!!!! 😵
Wow!!! Thank you Josh, I'm looking forward to my delivery and personally couldn't give a flying F**k what anyone else thinks!!! Hats off to You and your team for a good job well done, I doth my cap Sir...............
Oh, I lost it 2 minutes in. It reminded me of when my friend get up early to Facetime on Saturdays before our kids get up. Then I realized we are both the same age as Josh& I lost it again. Thank you Josh, I can’t wait to see what you have up your SLEEVE for this episode!
I’ve had no experience with a Klon circuit until now and I’ve been Burninating the countryside since I wrenched the last nut. Thanks for the knowhow and the taste
I immediately ordered 2. One is for my kid. This is the perfect product at the perfect time for us. They've discovered rock! Instead of buying a DS-1 or something, we're going to build this pedal together and make the guitar that much more personal! Thank you for giving us a project to bond over!
Josh, I like your pedals that I’ve used. I like your videos, and your dry humor! You seem like a great guy, I’m glad this took off for you. Continued Success to your company.
I’ve been playing guitar for 40 years or so. I never used pedals until a couple of years ago. Watching JHS vids have really educated me on pedal use. I look forward to getting my NOTAKLON and my AT+. Thank you JHS family. Maybe one day I will be good enough to have my own custom pedal from JHS. 🤷🏽♂️🤙🏾
Josh. Thank you for what you and the folks at JHS do. The NOTAKLON video was incredible! I think I’ll buy one from Rockin Guitars here in Lafayette LA to spread the wealth! Ha! Again. Thank you so much for the videos. Be well!
When I have one of jhs pedals, I fill like I’m part of that magic that I’ve filling every time when I watch josh talking about pedals. God bless you josh 🙏🏻
I am sitting here listening to this in Melbourne Australia eating poached eggs on toast with Spinach for lunch...on a beautiful Street a block from the Beach. People are staring at me just a bit...one is listening sneakily I think he plays. JHS is essential entertainment and essentisl pedal knowledge.
Josh I look forward to all of your shows!!! I feel I've learned more about the history, and making of all pedals. I've never heard you say anything bad about anything,or anyone. You a great at what you do because you love it!!! Haters are undereducated, uninspired people.

Millie and Ethan were incredible. No the kids are not coached. YES KIDS CAN BE WITTY AND FUNNY!!! The fact that Ethan called Josh based is absolutely hilarious.
After hearing a lot of the disses in the "Josh reads your hate comments" video, when that one comment mentioned the "hatted baby human" I legitimately thought he was referring to Nick- no shade
Josh you should make a handwired version of this pedal with 1940’sish traces and all of the components thrown into the enclosure and masking tape secured. Maybe some NOS goop and an instruction manual that explains how to read resistors. Have the kids build it and end the videos with the shed burning down. I love a good challenge and a fun project. Ramp up these great ideas!!!
Hey JOSH…love your pedals dude…they are super adjustable and easier to find the tone your lookin for instead of turnin knobs and very little difference heard. Good job man… Im a pedal junkie for sure… need more JHS pedals! Thanks for sharing your creations!!!
Sorry I gotta leave another comment. I loved watching the kids put this together. I watched that video with my 8 year old son and 10 year old daughter. My daughter competes in robotics competitions and my son want to play bass… don’t judge him😆. I got this so the three of us could put this together and it’s an incredible idea. My kids and I watch the pedal show together all the time. Screw these trolls you are awesome!
I have to take umbridge with one particular comment. The Commodore 64 was amazing back in the day even if it falls short now by today's standards. I used to turn pick your plot books into easy basic programs. It was a lot of typing and in hind sight, voice to text would have been SO helpful in that process. Anyway, the C64 brough affordable computing to my house long before I could have afforded it myself. What's the point? In a similar way to the C64, Notaklön (when mine arrives in February) will bring the Klon circuit to my hands before I would ever spend the crazy money to get an actual Klon in my hands.
Very much hoping that there is a video of the JHS meeting that decided on where to put the “ö” in NOTAKLÖN .... mainstream TV just ain’t cutting it anymore.
Josh's grave stone: "The BadMonkey Guy"
You gotta admit "Curse of the Bad Monkey" would be an awesome pedal name. Continual marketing genious.
I'd buy that!
@@mcstabbayou can’t get one new because pre-orders are going for triple list on reverp
It could be a Double Pedal....call it the Mean GoRilla!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🦍
The Monkey's Paw
I think Josh is tired of it so it's not going to happen.
I would totally go for a Notabadmönkey. Hoping for more JHSKEA releases.
As soon as I can afford it I will purchase and build mine with smiles ear to ear. JHS is an amazing company.
Someday I hope to buy a JHS pedal just because this guy is wicked smart and entertaining.

I believe in you

Well I bought the notaklon... So I guess I finally followed through on my similar comments.
I think that with "hatted baby human" he meant "the kid with a hat"
Yep I kept watching the video until Josh realized.
When reading comments, reading skills are pretty important. "Hatted" and "Hated" are not the same. 😂
It’s a Klon circuit. It sounds like all other Klon circuits plus or minus individual component tolerances. and josh is blissfully unaware
Josh needs to do an episode of running his mic through different Klons.

I love how genuine and entertaining this channel is. I wish all of RUclips was like this.. especially in the Guitar Gear world. We can all learn something and have a laugh at the same time

The little wrenches that break off the board are hilarious and ingenious.
