One thing I hope gets changed is that while I love the idea of being able to use my Mobiglass to chart, while in a ship I'd much rather being using the ship computer do it. Mobiglass is like Fitbit or an Iphone whereas I'd assume a ship's computer is a billion times better.
this was the plan from begin on. using the mobiclass is just a replacement for the time beeing

Probably the best footage of 3.0 so far. The camera, the aspect ratio, everything sells the experience of playing this game.
Someone needs to make a Star Trek like series where they explore the Verse with their Javelin and boldly go where no citizen has gone before.
With these cinematic shots, properly edited with voice overs and some sort of script maybe, I could see myself watching it :D

Funny you speak of doing a serie, i was working on a similar project a couple month back with other Star Citizen backers. The hard part was that with 3.0 around the corner it was difficult to achieve something of the scale we wanted. But i guess 3.0 opens a lot of new possibilities now. Who knows?

Already people on the Frontier forums, which is were Dereks goons are most of the time, are claiming that this very video here is "just a demo in order to fool blissfully unaware potential backers".

Did you see a game here? I saw footage with some of the worst flying physics I have ever seen but you fail to see it due to how he filmed it. What is the point? Do you fight enemies, find loot? There is no game, just footage to entice people who are not thinking what a game entails, FUN perhaps?

This game is absolutely breathtaking. I can't wait to take a few hover bikes, load them into the cargo bay of my ship, me and a few friends travel to a deserted planet. Fly down onto the surface of the planet, take the hover bikes out, and have a race up a valley...on a massive deserted planet. I am so glad to be alive.
ya maybe after they get another 10 million dollars...and another 3 years so developers can continue living lavishly off all the idiots who keep giving money.

Thank you also for letting us know the hardware you used to play it, really helps. When I saw the video initially my 1st thought was "this has to be running on a 1080Ti or higher". Is it me, or did they add what looks like "Pincers" to the front of the Cutlass Black, the new version of this ship is jaw dropping.
every time you start to use free camera i keep expecting it was a cut scene, the graphics is that good and i am watching at 1080p can't image how 4k looks like

It's truly what the developers must have hoped for, to see their creation used on this majestic scale. Beats the first person view every day. Great work. It's just miss something for me, if you can add some parts levitation around your ship behind a planet or in orbital station, just to see your body floating in the interstellar void, that will look great ;p

Liked and subbed due to quality of work :). Great video and, holy crap this game is INSANE in every way. Anyone who sees this game at this quality level and still says it's crap or not going to happen really need psychiatric evaluation....... With the level of detail and the visual fidelity they are managing to achieve, I think all gamers will be looking at their game makers and saying, "hang on a minute here guys, but if they can do this whats all the crap you keep trying to have us buy?"

The people who're worried this game may not come out remember that this patch was supposed to come out LAST YEAR.
yes, whilst you are right 3.0 was due last year, it got pushed from last year due to them wanting to get procedural planets/moons in it and also Item 2.0 and the procedural bases/stations and cities.. We were also supposed to be getting a much bigger are to play in but, now we have much MORE stuff to do even though we are starting of in a smaller area, the amount of tech in this game now is obscene
During Citizencon Chris Roberts ADMITTED 3.0 was delayed by feature creep. If not for feature creep we'd have had 3.0 months ago.
It is NOT feature creep, we haven't had feature creep for ages, since they stopped doing the funding stages. What we have now are things that need to be made extra due to the mechanics or requirements of another system they already have, ie they make "shops" then they need to make all the stuff which goes with that that they didn't originally want or realise they needed.
For a second there I actually thought you were going to rail gun your own ship haha.

there isn't really any need for atmospheric flight at the minute lol since these are moon's and as such don't really have an atmosphere and fairly low gravity. There was one idiot somewhere that was complaining that a guy's Nox was "floating" when he was on a moon, lmfao didn't even get the idea of Grav-Lev :)
But...they are heating up on reentry... Reentry into what......i dunno, an atmosphere.

It just goes to show with recent'ish AAA games, I mean they have done this level of quality, visual splendour and fidelity and then we get Andromeda hahaha. I think most gamers will wake up when they see this game and start complaining to all the publishers that their games look like shit compared to this and that we been getting ripped off for years by crap output from most companies.
Except for bugs and popups this is THE SCIFI GAME to play!! It's everything Mass Effect could have been and were still in alpha!! When they have sorted out all the bugs and inserted more eye candy etc this will be AMAZING!
