    Looks like it's pretty good shape other than working the electrical issues out the trace inverter is old but they are reliable I had two 2012 running in parallel with turbo fans for true 2000 watts each that was 25 years ago
    Trace was what Victron is today in my opinion . Thanks for a great video

    Drove Eagles for Trailways doing long haul charter work. Lots of local sightseeing trips with lots of slow speed turning. Boston was the toughest very narrow streets and no power steering. That why the steering wheels were so large. But nothing rode like an Eagle. There were fun to drive but the manual 4 speed transmission had to be double clutched. Anyone sitting in the rear could tell if you knew how to drive it.They heard every missed gear.

      We have an Eagle and it’s great to drive! Thankfully, it has power steering 😃. Grinding gears and an old 8v71 back there… probably could’ve handed out ear protection 😆

      Best bus line ever!! You guys (Trailways drivers) were the most courteous and professional drivers. Thank you sir for delivering us passengers nationwide safely while providing an enjoyable experience. Rode several charters and interstate lines back and forth to college in the Southeast and Southwest.

    You gave a pretty good description of what to look for in a Silver Eagle. I own a model 01, Belgium built, last one before the 05’s came out. The Eagle you show, looks pretty good. Cosmetics can be fixed pretty easy. Frame, suspension and mechanicals are the most important. She also has great adjustment left on the suspension and the ride height looks spot on. Thanks!

      Me too🙂. There’s 5 35’ eagles out there. One for sale on Craigslist for $41k with a 6v92 in it. I personally wouldn’t pay that for it because I’d have to do a complete remodel and I don’t care for a giant diesel generator in the bay.

      @@RollinHomies unfortunately the only way to get a 69-1984 eagle in 45 ft you’d have to have bought a bus with serious modifications done. There are some companies who actually stretched the frames by adding framing to the middle. If not done right you are in for some problems. If you’re looking for a decent eagle coach I can help you find one. We actually have a couple that we might let go.

I am needing someone to check these out and move them 50 miles to my place .. the seller has driven both ..is professional trucker .. knows his stuff ..but I need pro to start n drive me to my place .. What was the price of that bus?

    • @RollinHomies
      @RollinHomies  2 года назад +3

      To m knowledge the bus was up for sale at $25k. -IMO- I think it was a solid deal. It had been garage keep for 20+ years, had a Big Cam 400 Cummins engine (which is a nice jump from the 8v71 6v-92 or 8v-92 that could’ve been in it), I believe a very low hour 15kw diesel generator and a 15’ drivers side slide out.
      The cons where the dated interior, the paint/body work, no power steering, some of the plumbing lines had been frozen causing breaks and the entire slide needed a new seal around it. The biggest issue with eagles is rust and this one had maybe 10% rust on the frame that was visible.

      There are a couple “Eagle bus” and bus conversion groups on FB. Check into those for some buses for sale. I’d say with 45’, steer clear of the 6v-92 engine… way underpowered.
      Best of luck! And thanks for watching.
