Recently moved back to Australia after living in NZ and there everyone knew how to merge like a zipper. It seems in Australia no one knows how to merge and as soon as you turn on your indicator you see them accelerate in your mirror to not let you merge 😂. Very few courteous drivers in Australia.

It has been awhile Rod. Hey the attitude of the drivers today is a reflection of life in general. I am retired now after 40 years as an underground miner and experienced the same attitude with the younger workers. Thanks for the video Mate

After nearly 50years running up and down the highways I was clad to retire. As a driver you’re treated like shit by everyone. Despatch, receiving, operations law enforcement and even the public. I was grateful to have worked for a fantastic family business in the eighties. Later working for a multinational company I had a heart attack up the road and when I notified the company that I was currently in hospital about to airlifted to a major hospital their only concern was were is the truck keys and where is it loaded to. Never heard from them again until I returned to work after 3 months. Never even contacted my family to offer any assistance. You are just a number. Safe travels.

This video couldn’t have been timed any better. Established a small company with my dad at the start of this year and I’m looking at selling at the end of the year now. Hearing the stories from his hay day I couldn’t wait but it’s nothing but the complete opposite, us drivers are treated like dirt the facilities are disgraceful can’t buy a decent meal anymore the other drivers are grubs they don’t even move over if you’re stuck on the side of the road these days and the whole industry is only getting worse it’ll be good to see someone else drive it out of my driveway.

8:00 - that is a really good point that you would experience all the time as a truck driver. as a car driver it can also occur on a 100 limit road where you overtake a truck on a hill and then side by side at the crest it will speed up with momentum and you will need to go over to overtake them. adel-mel is a bit better as the road is flatter as you know, not many hills although not dual lanes for the most part

Hi Rod, Good to se you back again! Hope your well! I have mixed feelings about the trucks in left hand lanes etc. I guess it would work well if regular motorists were banned from those same lanes. I find (in Queensland in particular) on a 3 lane motorway, trucks are restricted to the lh 2 lanes. This is fine until you get the pelicans in the cars doing well under 100km/h in the middle lane causing chaos... I think it would be more beneficial if all people trucks included would simply keep in the lh lane unless directly over taking. Problem solved... Oh and ffs dont' speed up because you get to an over taking lane just to drop your speed back when it ends...

I worked for Boral years ago as a company driver driving concrete trucks and it was every man for himself alright where didnt matter who they screwed over as long as they got to go home on time and one guy had bludging down to a fine art where he would find out how much work was on the next day to much throw a sickie because when he was at work on the quiet days he had to sleep the day away and yeah they let that happen.

The no trucks in right hand lane thing is the most pointless and ignorant rule ever introduced. We deal with it daily and it isn't good. That's Vicroads for you, by far the most incompetent road authority in the western world.

I travel on the Geelong road where they ban trucks from the right hand lane. Its the worst, because car drivers hog the middle lane and you can't legally pass them.

@@tonyitalia5993 Bobtail, still on the slow side with the changes, but with trailers and a load, quick changes and smooth, rev range between 1350 and 1600 doesn't drop to 1100/1200 like the previous ones.

Kenworth aircons are absolutely terrible. They've never gotten it right compared to everyone else. Yet DAF aircons are amazing, maybe the engineers should take some lessons from the Euro brands lol.
