Great video thanks for sharing. Real smooth driving. Dad drove for 20 years so l enjoyed this. You both have the same tall slim build. In the 1960s my Mother took a brief 8mm film of him driving the bus at the same angle. You are wearing the same sunglass style as him in that video. Too cool.
Everyone wants to be friends with a guy who owns a bus. You could publish a relaxation video of the Detroit purring and the Allison shifting, very therapeutic.
Rode these buses a lots as a kid, even back to the MC7 and GMC Scenicruiser. Would sure love to go for a ride, or even see your bus if you ever travel through these parts. Enjoy...looks like you're a great driver!!! :-)
I bought ex-PCL 6740 (MC8) a few years ago. Camperized it & drove across Canada & US 2 years ago. Fuel cost nearly $5000 for entire trip. What are your plans?
Hey Ryan, I love this vid, probably watched four times so far. Very therapeutic with the straight road and countryside. The camera position was just perfect too, shows your relaxed driving style and the road ahead...it's kind of like a continuous video loop. It raises the question just where were these very straight roads and what was your max speed on the straight?
thanks, I'm glad you enjoy the video! This was shot in Dunrobin, Ontario, Canada, ending in Kanata, Ontario. I don't remember exactly the speed but I'd imagine it hovered around 80-90 km/h.
Hey dude i likes your bus very nice and your driving... i'd like be your new friends that's be cool we hangout around with your bus i've know how drive 40 foot bus like yours if you meet me in person that's will be nice. but one thing havent you hangout with deaf person before , man ?
Very nice bus! I used to ride these in the early 1980s in my home state of New Jersey. Brings back many memories!

I drove the MC9 when I was a Greyhound driver in the mid 90's
Ryan you have one of the better MCI's, dress up the wheels, put some black shine on them, tires look tired.

Hey, Ryan why no more videos? What happened to your bus?
The 8v71, the Allison trans and a few rattles.
I put quite a few miles on it when it was still in service.
The steering is better than the cam & lever steering that's on my MC8 (ex 6740)
wow that thing sounds nice
very nice coach!
Hi sawxr dswqxr u at seacr heard gxzs uzsecftsf ivur sxdcyvxd but XD HB

Those were salad buses, especially 8v71 Detroit engine
Used to drive them a lot, sits on the road better then any previous
mc-9 was the best bus ever built. so was the 8V-71 best engine ever.
PUSH on the brake to release the parking brake!!!
Sounds a lot like a 6V92TA.
Joseph Heston maybe, but it's an 8v71
A V8 Diesel Ryan Bottriell
What was all that popping sound? Trying to get the coach into gear?
+Chesterbarnes1 no, just getting the parking brakes to release, they stick now and then
+Ryan Bottriell You're a real good bus driver
6749 was one of the better 9's at PCL.
+cvueguy That's good to hear, I picked it out of three that were retiring at the time and it definitely seemed to be in the best shape of all of them
+Ryan Bottriell It rides mighty quiet-must have that Detroit Diesel Engine in it-rides good, too
+cvueguy 6749 seems to be with ALlison automatic..
+Steve Carras
Allison 4 speed automatic I think
Allison MT643?
I believe it's an Allison HT754
Allison HT740
What's your KPL or MPG?
Nik Halaszi haven't ever gotten a great measurement but seems to be around 7-8 MPG
this the bus still a charter bus or is it an RV bus?
this one was a charter when I bought it but is now an rv
when did this bus retire?
+Aldrick GMC spring of 2013
what was it originally?
+Aldrick GMC Pacific coach lines out of Vancouver, BC. Ran the ferry line from Vancouver to Victoria mostly
