@@wombat2686 yea i had noticed this. Never found a fix for it besides restarting or making a new character. (Even that often doesnt fix it too :/)

Do you do cinematic for other channels?
Just as a hobby
In order to control a player with the camera still like you show towards the end, you have to drag them in, hide/unhide to get the mesh to show. Once showing you need to control the player by right clicking and controlling manually on the right screen (Im guessing this creates the controller in code). Once youve controlled the character you can tick the control player and simulate buttons. This took me about 20 minutes and a few crashes to figure out haha.
Also, I believe some mods disable the ability to click and drag things into the world (I copied an entire mod list and ran into this issue as well, I think it was the admin mod I disabled to get this to work!)

Glad it helped! I mentioned the hide/unhide at 8:53, but the part about why... never figured out why it's necessary I'm afraid. Mystery!
Yeah it wasnt the unhide that was acting wonky but the control character while being in camera mode xD@@wombat2686

So, I wanted to load this with Project Blackpool - Iztek but can't seem to get all of the mods to load in with it; It simply gives me the regular Iztek map instead. How do I get it to download with all of the mods already placed and in their correct spots?
I'm not too familiar with what Project Blackpool is, but if it's a server with mods, you can see the list of mods in the vanilla dayz launcher beside the server name.
I think there's a way to copy that list, but you can otherwise jot them down on a notepad (and as long as you've joined the server once, you'll have all the mods in your mod list to choose from) then you can just tick them all, save a preset if you want too. Order shouldn't matter too much.

Great guide, but my god using the editor myself it was so finicky. I'd set up characters as I wanted and randomly some clothes on them would become invisible, or when I tried to have a character pickup anything I couldn't access the inventory.
Just like anything in DayZ it takes some getting used to lol
Nice video, two things i would of liked to see, how to open map and get to destination AND how to get a working car and do shots connected to the car as it drives
Should be M to open the map if I remember right, as for connecting to a car... sadly not possible in the editor, so no scripted cameras, but the Cinematic Tools mod on the workshop can get that working for you on servers.

I was wondering, did you try to make cutscene with vehicle? It's seems to be so complicated! I didn't succeed to do it!
I didn't no, any vehicle stuff I did for trailers or the like we did on a dev server / with real players flying/driving
Actually I'm trying to do it and it's a real pain.
I have to set my camera at a certain spot and "through" my car at full speed in play mode and switch quickly to free mode look... I will post my result to show you what I succeed to achieved with that.
Just curious: Is there a way to make the render distance with cinematic shots longer, so trees and such don't pop in and out? I've been struggling with this and I'm just hoping for a hail mary.
You can change your render distance in your general DayZ settings. Otherwise, you might need to try a change in the config / text files. You can find that in a more general tutorial though.

Only possible on servers sorry, I haven't setup the mods for that personally, just used them on another person's server
If i grab stuff from the item menu how to i place them, i dont understan lol, and how do i change my chraracter clothings
Left click in the menu, then left click where you want to place it. Or drag from there. To change switch into game mode and equip the items like you would in the normal game. It's in this video!

I created 2 characters and then I shot them with a gun. It always comes back quickly. I want it to continue, but I can't find a way.

Hmm good question... I've never really used cars in editor. Might be they have a strange classname?
then in character, then i am about to pick up the stuff to kit the "survivor" with, the inventory dont opens after some time, 3min one time, 15min another time, and so on.
is it just to live with and start all over again, or is it a workaround for this issue not being able to open the inventory in character mode?
Yeah annoying bug, no idea on a solution at the moment.
Having some issues loading up the editor. I get the loading screen window with the editor logo but then the game either closes itself out or the loading screen becomes non responsive. Any tips on how to fix this?
Hmm, not too sure, sorry. If there isn't an error code (like navmesh issues, or missing assets...) I can't help. CTDs are a headache.

Hey is there any way to record in the editor or do I have to use an external program to record the Nodes and later export it into Davinci resolve?
As far as I can tell there are no render frame tools in the editor, you'll need to capture it some other way (I use OBS).
how do you save and use these video clips? export ?
DayZ doesn't have any video encoding, so you need to record with OBS or a similar program

Unfortunately not, the editor is just for offline. But you can do similar things with some other mods, Cinematic Tools I think is the name of one I've used a lot.

How did you install the "S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Area of Decay" and "S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Area of Decay Buildings" mods? They aren't listed on the steam workshop and without them you can't use the editor on the EX Zone map. Plz help.
interesting... i think i loaded them up originally from the StalkerZ server modlist, but I'm pretty sure they're on the steam workshop?
Maybe listed under Stalker or AOD or something
