No.. no its not. Just get the 6950XT. Honestly its a steal at $649 right now.
Probably best bang for buck on the high end at that price.
530 watts lol.
7900XT at 800 is better it has RT with 3080/ti and 20gb and AI and FSR3
@@zdenkakoren6660 you know I saw asrock 7900 xt for 778$ on Newegg tru value
@@zdenkakoren6660 cant every card utilize fsr though
Those peak framerates are just a very small part of the story.
Look at the frame times in that first video benchmark.
Lower frames overall with smoother gameplay are much better than peak with stutter.
0:46 16GB?
Frame generation use +1,5GB Vram and give perfect console experience due lag issue, RT also need a lot ram , in end 12GB Vram GPUs in a year or two will be only good for 1080P
It's not the vram that is the issue dude, it's the tiny bus they are giving all cards besides the 4090 and the 4080 is an exception but still has a small bus. If the card can't get enough bandwith it will stutter. 128 bus is absolutely sad. That's why the 4070ti stutters in 4k and the 3080ti doesn't. The 70ti only has a 192 bit bus. That's why I gave mine away and bought two 4090's and a Tuf 4080
@@6r3ys0n Reviews show overspill video buffer on system memory and this large decrease average fps, 0.1% lows dive in this occasion to 11FPS, internal GPU bandwidth issue is another issue. @@kkrolik2106 Thanks for the info!
Just got a 6950XT Asrock OC Formula for 600 bucks new with free games. It smokes the 4070 by like 25% stock at 300W and like 35% at 475W and it has 16GB VRAM. In 3 years 4070/ti will be junk but 6950XT will be good til like 2028 probably.
True give it 1 year it barely survived
at this price point mind as well buy a 6800xt
you get 16gb vram
and if you get it used it can be as low as $450 for the same performance and more vram
If the 4060Ti was this card, and the 4070 had like.. 16gb and performed like the 4070Ti.
They condensed a lot of the top product stack. Instead of allocating the top few percent for a Titan, they planned to sell a lot of 4080 and 4090. It's evident in a few features we see on FE cards that Nvidia had a strategy that was pricing people into buying a $1200-1600 card on this series when it was completely unnecessary.
The 50 series will be like a 40 series but with way better memory amount and bandwidth probably. That's a way they can "innovate" (iterate) these great GPUs they've made into a product they can already make. If a consumer can see a 50 series as: 110% across the board in rasterization to the 40 series, VRAM that makes sense for like... a 2026 title. That isn't far off. I'll pay you $600-800 to be able to guarantee high refresh 1440p for the next 5 years, given I'll play some older titles.
But that's why I'm waiting for AMD to come up with a 7800XT or a fully fledged architectural improvement in the 8900XTX that matches 4090 performance with generous amounts of VRAM headroom. That's worth $1000. But if Nvidia can get me that midrange performance where RT is a nice little perk in some games, I'll buy an Nvidia 16gb 4070 for what they're asking.
What's crazy is that people will see 12gb the way they saw the 6gb cards. The 1060 6gb is still trucking in 1080p in a lot of rigs, but its near peer at the time the 1060 3gb was like 25% cheaper and 15% less performance in benchmarks at the time. Well the gap has gotten huge, so I predict we'll see lots of 12gb cards rounding out the entry level in 2025. Those models will still be relevant. 16gb will be the new 8gb and no one will really debate the VRAM issue anymore. 24-32gb for 4k gaming will be high end.
Isn't it true AMD also opted for HBM memory instead? Slightly more cost per chip but there's a reason people still game in these AMD cards that are from 2015-2016 even though everyone at the time was suggesting a 10 series Pascal card. I don't see AMD as a non-competitor or falling behind. Theyve got the architecture design for the latest consoles and their drivers age like wine. Suddenly a game from 2019 gets a 20% performance uplift from 100 to 120fps at your settings? That's the value of buying at a bargain and continuing to enjoy that bargain. Once you turn away from benchmarks you just look at your system as "well can I run this the way I want it to?" Often times older hardware is enough for 80% of the 1080p gaming even today.
You are a big boy. Please consider taking care of your health, both diet and exercise. Do not neglect this, you will regret it as you age, your body will begin to fail you and people will judge you for not taking care of yourself. Best of luck! Good content for sure!
someone went to the bathroom at nvidia, decided mark it $600 bucks and sent it out the door.
LOL
I got Rtx 2080 ti for 350€ used, is this good or should I get the newer cards?
its perfect you dont need to upgrade any time soon
@@hackerssjred8630 thank you!
Rtx 2080 ti and 1080 ti were the only exceptions that had 11GB of vram way before it was really needed so they can still hold on very well today
@@SinNumero_no41 thanks!
Should i get rtx 3080 130watts gp66 for 1480$ or rtx 4060 90watts msi stealth 16 for 1900$
If it had 16GB of VRAM I'd say it would be a good buy. But right now. No. It would either have to be cheaper than it is now, or get an upgrade. I don't see it being worth getting. Even with new tech, and higher frame rate without more VRAM it will lose stability really quick. Many games that have come out this year already push beyond 12GB of VRAM, including The Last of Us, Hogwarts Legacy, and Resident Evil 4 Remake.
Cause there piss poor optimized 22 gigs at 1440p will be enough for least couple gens
F**** the 4070 buy a 6900xt used if you're in that price range
Hey, I have that shirt! (bought from your link pre-Ryzen 1st gen).
The 6950xt is the obvious choice, it's about the same price and has 4gb more ram. 12gb isn't going to cut it, also it would be easier to find a 6950xt second hand for even less. The 4070 is doa imo. It's priced wrong, it's only 20-30% more powerful than the 3070 but with a 20% increase in price . And this is over 2 and a half years later. Not going in the right direction. As for the comment about the priced just being how it is because that's how the world is....the world Is what we make it. If people don't accept these prices and hold off they will have lower the price . It should $499 at the most. Most 70 class cards easily beat the previous 80 series card. This time its barely on par, so they have no right to increase the prices. They're doing the bare minimum lol
Why AMD card apart of better fps had less stutter spikes on frame time graph in Returnal?
I am currently using a 3060ti msi gx trio at 1440p.. Almost all recent games cant be played anymore with RT on even with DLSS.. I dont think this card is a good upgrade for me. :(
I will go amd this time, i like how smooth the frametime graph is on amd
You will be alone buddy.
@@TheUAProdigy aaand i don't care 😂 i don't care for ray tracing either 😂
Its a great purchase if you're not really into ray tracing and DLSS
@@TheUAProdigy literally 80% of pc enthusiasts went for amd, i guessing you are alone with you kissing nvidias boots
Same here. I dont care much about fake resolution techs or fake frames. Raw power untill card is obsolete and then buy new one. Amd seems good way to go now.
They must have had a lot of spare 12pin HVPWR connectors to use these on the 4070. 600W connector for a sub 200W card!
You can't argue with the power efficiency though. Thing is a fucking 3080 at 170W. That's an achievement.
@@jokerproduction Hmmm 🤔RTX4090 mobile chip is better with tdp of 150W. Nvida just wont to give us good performer in this price range.
@@jokerproduction its a great card imo i got mine
waiting to see that 7800xtx?
Just get a second hand 3080/3080ti will be cheaper and better.
i am on the wrong side of the pc enthusiast space, the comment section on this video proves that nvidia will continue to increase the prices
imagine paying for a 5070 for $699 lol, goodluck nvidia shills with your stuttering gpu
Love your chanel
Weak GPU bus width🫣, change to 16gb vram💪👍, world economic state🤪😵😵💫 = $499USD max price imo for AIB models and $469 for FE model.
Nice shirt and review 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
i like the 4070 but too expensive in australia from $1130, still got my 1070 need to upgrade soon
Please show link cause 4070 should not be for sale yet
Bro do you know whether it would be able to run stable 240fps for Apex legends at 1080p max settings?
if that card could not do 200 + on that game at 1080 id shit my bed tonight
id expect easily 160 plus fps on 1080 let alone dlss
It's funny to hear RUclipsrs dance circles around trying to justify 599 for a mid range 1440p card
all cards from nvidia side are a tier down and that became a trend from 3k if fun bots go and buy from current line of cards expect 100+ price bumb from next line up/5k series.
The truth is Nvidia felt threatened by the 16GB VRAM high to med end RX6800 Series for AMD so they had to do 16GB VRAM on a 4070 , because how can 4070 have the same VRAM as 4080 .
What even makes it worse is 4070TI has a lower VRAM but it's faster than a 4070 . Nvidia are scammers of the earth !!
Nope. They consistently sell better than and at every price tier. They do not give a f. 😂 Neither do customers.
RTX 4070 has the same memory specifications as RTX 4070 Ti. 12 GB GDDR6X clocked at 21 Gbps with a 192-bit bus.
@@mklschwrtz2 Yeah !! It's a bad value product because in 2 years time 12GB will be the same as 8GB today !!
Nvidia are soo selfish !!
Amd js nothing but a headache so theres that i got my 4070
Nvidia is greedy.
They've been robbing everyone blind for years!
Water is wet.
Who isn't?
Sure but no one buys anything else so this is on customers.
Mine arrived today. Double performance over my RTX 3060 while not losing any VRAM. I paid 630 euro. My Max budget was 650. So good deal for me. And the power draw is only 25 to 30w more vs my 3060.
Any other GPU is outside my budget.
4070 Ti is close to 900 for the cheapest model here. and the rest is over a 1000 to 2000 for the 4090.
Man tell me is it worth 600€ I want to build my pc and im looking for it
@@tweex4952 What are you using now?
@@DeadPhoenix86DP i5 4460 amd intel hd graphics 4600
@@tweex4952 aye man in 2 days I’ll be back to tell you if it’s worth or not just bought it
OK thank you so much
vram alone tells you to stay away from nvidia other then the 4090 there cards are a joke period
It will sell like hotcakes because influencers sent free merch, cards and giftbags and clown "game journalism" reviewers have never been more corrupt and people are dumb as dirt. Even calling this a 4070 instead of a 4060 is a farce. 12 GB of VRAM is the dumbest thing you can do atm. The 4070Ti stuttered in 1440p non upscaling RT. What happens if the consoles throw a few more gigs of cheap RAM in a console refresh? Textures are the most important upgrade visually. Do you really think The Last of Us made Ultra textures for only the PC audience? The people who had Iron freakin galaxy port the game?
The fact AMD will just price match this bullsh@# shows how broken the industry is and you might as well govern it as a monopoly. AMD and Nvidia are colluding so much atm they might as well be the same company.
These prices are outrageous and where are the low end cards 4060 and the 4050 4g , wow nvidia have lost there minds 😅😅😅,
Y theyll just be 8gig vram to fuss abought 4060 and 4060ti
10:55 "Quote-unquote, 'mid-range' ".
50, 60, _70,_ 80, 90
Mid. There's no "quote-unquote".
11:03 Wrong. The _high-end_ has become more high-end, meaning the 4090. But that costs as much as a car so fuck that! The 4070 is LOSING to the 3080 in 1440p and 4k, because of the low 192-bit memory bus (which it should have had 256-bit like all previous 70-class cards!). LOSING while all the previous gen 70-class cards were beating the previous 80-class. Pathetic.
Nvidia wants you to play at 1080p and use their shitty upscaler. HARD PASS on this entire generation. Hoping they get their shit together for the 50XX cards and bring down the prices where THEY SHOULD BE: between $300-400. "Mid-range for $600", LMAO!
Nobody is going to buy this piece of crap
The RTX 4070 is for 1440p main targeting so that alone is worth purchasing when you consider all the 40XX cards are made for DLSS3 so this is a good purchase and anyone can get it right for MSRP over at Nvidia shop for the FE. Good review Joker.
Edit: Also, when are you gonna talk about your shadow banned regarding the keys link issue?
i dont know man. 8gb of vram in 2023 just doesnt sound like a smart purchase at all. some games even at 1080p hit that buffer very quickly so at 1440p its gonna choke
@@lordadz1615 And I agree but lucky enough the 4070 is 12GB VRAM and not 8GB. It is said the RTX 4060 will be 8GB and that's the one to NOT get!
@DaVillain ohh is it. Its 12gb fr? Damn didn't even see tht mb. That's not too bad then
I didn’t know what ray tracing was until I bought a 4090 the Rey tracing on anything else is complete dog shit
Not really a smart buy for gamers who don't upgrade every generation, doesn't seem future proof.
4070 is just 3080 or worse... anything below 4070 Ti doesn't make sense at all
for my wallet anything above 4070 makes no sense
Ill take 4070 amd is just a headache
You been living under a rock for the last 5 years? A month ago Nvidia had mad driver issues.
