I appreciate your expertise. I just seeded my backyard with Tall Fescue. I’m in the watering stage so I’m hoping for the best. I can water twice a day so that’s a benefit to keeping it moist. Thanks again 👍🏽
This definitely helped!! Thank you so much. I canceled my lawn guy this week oh, I guess I should call him tomorrow and cancel him for next week too. I am determined to have a beautiful yard.. I will be dragging that dang hose all over it!
I’m in Fayetteville Pete! I would love to come to Greensboro to purchase your products and get a lesson on tall fescue. I have Lesco Tall fescue right now
My GCI TTTF germinated in 3 days and I mean a ton of germination! Absolutely insane quality seed. 2 weeks in and some areas are already upwards of 3”-3.5”! Scott’s took me almost two weeks to see germination during my first Reno a couple years ago. My advice for early germination is waking up early before work.. I get up for work at 5:30 AM so I’d get up and hour early at 4:30 AM and water the sides of my yard where I don’t have sprinklers and water the far part of my backyard where my sprinklers don’t reach. Than I’d water the sides as soon as I’d get home around 4 P.M. The front and most of my back yard I’d leave my sprinklers set up and on a timer which I highly recommend buying. It was mid 90’s most of the first week so I had the timer set to water for 7 minutes every 3 hours starting around 7 AM. And my last watering around 4 P.M.
Right now my yard is ready to plant but is 37 as of right now rain yesterday and today. But I would like to know when a good time to plant my gci fescue & kBG??
I live on 4 acres of grass.. I only seeded one acre because I have no irrigation system in the midwest. I have to hand water the lawn with 400 feet of garden hoses. By the time water comes out that length the flow rate is diminished, but I keep watering and it takes me 3 1/2 hours by the time I'm done, What a pain. Gotta do this all by hand. I put my thumb over the nozzle and broadcast that way. If I used a movable sprayer, I'd still have to hang around and move the hose around so I just stand there and keep stepping off the watering back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, until it's done because nobody else will do it for me.
Hi GCI Turf. I have been a subscriber of yours for about 2 years. Just come across this video and have a question.... I have recently reseeded and a section of the lawn is thick and another section not so thick. I live in the UK and have a weed called horsetail coming through in the thin areas. My question is do I mow the thick area or just wait till it all fills in.... Reseeded 17 days ago. Many thanks... And any advice on horsetail prevention would be appreciated.
Is it possible to get fungus? (Overseeded and reseeded) I have a fairy ring that I wanted to fill in and I think it is getting moss. If it is moss should I put moss out on it. I am at day 18 and my sprouts are about 1 inch and the rest of the grass is about 6/7 inches. I heard fairy rings are hard to fill in and I am finding that to be true. If I’m getting moss then I would say that area is getting enough water. True?
Pete, I know this video is old but I wanted to say I just re did my front yard using the GCI turf tall fescue blend. Im on about day 5 and anxiously waiting for some germination. I did apply Tenacity, but I also heard it can be dangerous for tall fescue. Should I be worried? I probably should have figured this out before I laid seed :D
I live just north of Greensboro in VA. This summer has been brutal. I held off seeding until the cool of fall set in. Good seed ain't cheap I'm encouraged that you seeded in September and have had success What type of fescue do you have, and do you like it? Great information. Subbed 👍
Robert Swift yeah. Fall Seeding season. We seed around 400 lawns in 45 days so it takes a while to do that. Gotta get it done while the getting is good 😎
GCI turf, Thanks. Do you think it's too bulky? I just aerated and over seeded 3 weeks ago. Do you use a fall pre emergent ? Can you recommend a inexpensive pre emergent ?
I appreciate your expertise. I just seeded my backyard with Tall Fescue. I’m in the watering stage so I’m hoping for the best. I can water twice a day so that’s a benefit to keeping it moist. Thanks again 👍🏽
Great video, awesome accent.
Good tip Pete !
Why does it stop raining the day after I put down grass seed?
This definitely helped!! Thank you so much. I canceled my lawn guy this week oh, I guess I should call him tomorrow and cancel him for next week too. I am determined to have a beautiful yard.. I will be dragging that dang hose all over it!
Thank you!
This video helps a lot.."
Please keep making lawn care videos!

Lack of patience is right I wanna go mow every morning. Lol
My straight forward honest opinion is the KY31 belongs in a cow pasture. There's nothing about it that I like
Yes I agree it is a form of Grab Grass,,,ugly lumpy
Oldie but goodie!
How do you water a downhill slope in the front yard with an irrigation system ?
Right now my yard is ready to plant but is 37 as of right now rain yesterday and today. But I would like to know when a good time to plant my gci fescue & kBG??

How do you keep birds from eating the seeds?
Good video. Your camera was doing some weird stuff.

When did you water when you work? Just in the morning and at night a few times?
Talking about right after seed
Gci turf, Is that an Exmark commercial 30 mower in this video?
Grassology4610 yes
What kind of tall fescue seed do you use? I've been using Scotts. What are your thoughts on sod quality seed sold from sod farms? Thanks
Michael De Luca its a custom blended tall fescue. Sod quality seed will be great

Where can I get your measuring thingy?
www.gciturfacademy.com/product/mower-measure/
How many sq ft you watering?
GCI turf, Got it !!
Heard from this old house that watering in the evening is the worst. Because it sits there throughout the night and can create disease.

GCI Turf Services ok
Too soon and TOO SHORT for a tall fescue! That's failure #1 & #2.
I live just north of Greensboro in VA. This summer has been brutal. I held off seeding until the cool of fall set in. Good seed ain't cheap
