@@HeikosGarage are you still riding around with it hooked to a portable battery? Lol.Or are you cutting and editing the video? I know that could take some time.
It's a great video for those who don't have that feature. However, can you do a video of the automated tail lock, I know Amazon sells it for $109.00 dollars. I am curious if that automatic lock can be connected to the tow plug or somewhere else that it doesn't require to run the wires all the way to the passenger seat stud.
I bought the harness after watching your video. Tried hooking up wireless camera transmitters but I'm getting no power from that Green/Purple wire. In fact the yellow wire coming off the harness is supposed to have at least 6v but nothing from that as well. I tested these wires with a test light to be sure. I'm baffled!
Excellent video where can I order the adapter harness I think you mentioned pacific accessories corporation. Appreciate your help, Bo. 7 /27/24 2:40 pm mst
Great video! Thanks bro. I really need an instructional video on how to run it to the camera on the back. Not sure whether to tap into the back by drilling a hole and silicone around that after. Or go through the front firewall and run it under from the front of the truck. Or maybe you can just let me know which way you did it? Thanks again! PS: I'm redoing the audio inside my 2012 frontier SV, and I've learned that Nissan makes these things difficult on people. There wasn't one that I didn't have to modify something to make aftermarket products fit.
Hi, good video, very help full. Couple of questions, what do the yellow and black wire connect to? Second the red wires on the video cable, one is for camera trigger but what about the other end? Thank you for taking time to make this video for dummies like me.
The yellow and black are the video signal wires from the camera. The camera wiring harness has a rca connector at the end(video signal), the adapter that I plugged between the oem wiring harness and the stereo also has a rca jack which via the yellow and black wire connects to the back of the stereo. The red wire is just a 12v signal wire coming from the camera. Once the camera gets powered up the red has 12v power. That 12v signal switches the stereo to camera mode.
You cannot connect the black and yellow cable together, the Black cable is Chassis Ground and is connected to a metal part in the car, for example a screw.
I have exactly the same stereo, just bought the OEM FRONTIER REVERSE CAMERA but I can’t find the aftermarket harness. I tried everything even the Dealership but the harness alone is $1,200 at the Dealership. Do you think I can install the OEM REVERSE CAMERA with what you’re using and playing cutting wires? Thanks in advance, great video!!
hard to say if that would work. depends on the wiring schematic of the OEM. Another guy commented and said that there might be a chance that those trucks are prewired and the wiring harness for the OEM camera is hiding somewhere down under the truck bed. I haven't looked but maybe you want to give it a try. If not you can always sell the OEM camera on eBay. Get yourself the aftermarket stuff I used and it works flawlessly.

@@HeikosGarage Thank you so much! I purchased a camera and harness and next weekend the install begins. Did you make the harness to supply power when the reverse lights activate?
@@HeikosGarage yes. I have same truck/media display. Used your links too. Connecting to reverse lights and tapping the 3.5mm power into the green/purple wire.
@@tylermurphy8524 how are you powering the camera? In my install I am taking power from a reverse light. Behind the stereo there is really only the video connection and the one little power wire coming from the camera connected to the pin # that I am pointing out in the video.
@@HeikosGarage I am using reverse lights for power just like you did. I made the video connection and tapped into the green & purple wire behind the unit. Rechecked all connections and they are solid. I used your amazon affiliate link for the PAC adapter but my wires are not numbered. So maybe my green/purple isnt the same as your green /purple? Either that or I received a faulty unit.
@@tylermurphy8524 the pin number I mentioned in the video (I don't remember what it was) can be found on the vehicles plug that originally is connected to the back of you stereo. So if your adapter is not number labeled you can find the pin # on the original plug. Maybe your camera isn't sending a 12v signal to the front. If you have a multimeter you can test if your camera is sending the signal. Disconnect everything from the back of the stereo. Turn ignition on, put the shift lever in reverse and use multimeter in voltage setting to see if 12v comes out of the trigger wire. Make sure that you have the camera all nicely connected to your reverse light.
I haven't seen the second video. Not sure if you posted yet. Looking forward to it. You're video was very helpful, thank you.

Interesting. I'll look into it.
I have studied my wiring diagrams, there is no better spot than in the B pillar on the passenger side. I might make a video about this . Thanks

The part is called "PAC Cam Ni1". I found it in multiple online stores. Just give it a Google. Good luck
