Interesting how everyone sees color palettes differently! I like the nostalgia collection colors together. Minus the pink I could see myself wearing them as a skittle. Maybe it's because I'm old, it is the nostalgia collection after all, lol.
I adore both collections! Rumi is basically my ideal shade in terms of complimenting my skin tone. It’s funny; I don’t like Fall because it fills me with dread about Winter, but I love the colors associated with it!
I love the Nostalgic collection! For me, I think it's the dusty quality that makes the group feel cohesive. They're such perfect fall colors when you want to keep things simple -- or do some fun art with these as a base. Personally, I've been wearing the colors alone with a matte taco. Gorgeous!!
I just love the Nostalgia collection. It is a perfect color story in my opinion. It takes me back to the 80's and 90's interior design colors. A perfect collection.
It's weird. A couple years ago, before I started getting into nails, I had 5-7 bottles of red I used interchangeably & thought of as basically the same. Now, I can't even see these as potential dups. They look completely different to me. I just (while pausing at the lineup at 10:40) realized I actually see colors differently. My eye trained itself. I probably would have seen 3 colors here before. Now I see 7 completely distinct shades. Oddly, the two I'd put together aren't what Kelli did. To me Mila & Suzie look similar. And both are completely different from Maggie & Rochelle.
I know you made a comment about it in another recent video, but I just want to say that I really appreciate your little intro into brands, and that you've even started defining the terms 'vegan' and 'cruelty free.' I feel like it's a nice reminder/summary of what different polish brands are about, a wonderful introduction if we as viewers are new to the brands, but I feel like it makes your videos more accessible, and therefore nail polish as a hobby more accessible!
I LOVE the Nostalgia Collection. It is the perfect color story for me for fall, including a soft blue sky color, green and reddish leaves...all the colors I wear in fall.
I am a lefty and I wright like a right handed person. I have never hooked or turned my paper. I tend to keep my pinky below what I am writing and I hardly smudge. Now crafting... that is another story. LOL I find learning calligraphy or knitting/crocheting more difficult being a lefty. I also use my mouse on the right side and the hand held can opener as well. Somethings you just learn automatically. As for the Zoya collections... both are very beautiful, even if pink heavy for my taste. I like the darker pink colors. My favorite red from Zoya is Pepper, but it's more of a dusty brick red than true red. Very stunning. I am glad to hear the formula has improved. It's been awhile since I've purchased Zoya. :)
Had some bad nerve damage when I was younger, so I had to teach myself from being right handed to left handed. I’d say notepads, swiping credit cards, and mugs always being backwards were my biggest annoyance.
It's a good think we humans can adapt in such situations. For us lefties, we've had to adapt to a rightie world from the beginning. I have now morphed into a right-hand dominant, ambidextrous lefty. I can pretty much do anything with both hands, which comes in handy for a hobby like nail polish! My other hobby is sewing -- also quite advantageous to be able to use either hand.
I love both the collections. I would wear them all. I absolutely love your makeup. Could you please do a makeup tutorial on this look??? I really love all your makeup looks and would love you to do more makeup tutorials. Pretty Please. I also absolutely love your hair.
I am curious about how Shawn compares to Cooper. I might get the Eggplant color. I’m also a lefty who uses r-handed scissors and mice. I choose my pens carefully, so I always have quick dry pens to avoid the smearing.
Have both collections and love both of them. I don’t even normally like reds and pinks, but I really like the combo of the Rose palette. I also broke the Nostalgic collection into Austin, Cooper, and Becca, and then Vivi, Rumi, and Mila. I like those combos.
I love the Nostalgia collection! I think it's a nice change for fall from the usual color stories we get. I'll definitely have to pick these up. As for lefties, my sister, brother, and daughter are ALL lefties, so I empathize. My daughter loves that she's the same as her aunt and uncle (and they think it's cool too), but she's starting to get frustrated about things that are harder for lefties, such as notebook coils getting in the way and also the inevitable smudging. Especially with her only being seven.
Lefty here! I'm actually wearing the nostalgic collection minus the light pink as a skittle mani. I made them matte and to me they are perfect for fall!
I saw a skittle mani of all the Nostalgic minus the light pink shade with a matte top coat and it sold me on these colors. I'm excited to get them and play!
Hi Kellie Marissa. Thank you for letting me to subscribe to your channel , I am studying my Cert 3 Beauty Services, I enjoy watching all your videos and learning about product knowledge.
Vivi was my very favorite Zoya color, but I have the one that’s circa 2007, which is a hot pink with a fuchsia duo-chrome. I didn’t realize they re-used names.
I'm am extremely right hand dominant. But I was in an accident that rendered my right unusable for 6 months. So, I briefly lived the lefty life. It is definitely way different in some ways.
I'm extremely left-handed. As you may have discovered while temporarily left-handed, the world is made for right-handed people. Everything, all kinds of things you wouldn't even think of, are designed for right-handed use. Being left-handed is an adventure in work-arounds and coming up with other ways to do things.
I’m with you Kelli. I prefer the rose palette & I will be purchasing it. These are my go to colors, although I do wear others as well. Love your videos! You answer my questions before I ask them!
i never knew you were left handed! i’m left handed too, but kinda learned to do most things with either hand (except for writing, i can only do that with my left hand haha!) i even don’t really have an “other hand” because i can comfortably paint my nails with both hands!
Same here. Left handed but write like a right handed and do everything else right handed. Even scissors. My 1st grade teacher didn’t believe in left hand scissors so I learned . Lol
My husband is like that. We are both left-handed, but I jokingly refer to him as "left-handed" in air quotes, lol, because he can do so many things right-handed. He only writes, eats and chops food left-handed. He does almost everything eelse right-handed. Meanwhile, I'm super left-handed (my mom was too) and it can really be a challenge at times.
Both lovely collections! I like single color collections, I think they're interesting !! Nostalgia collection reminds me of a really late summer/early fall color story
I agree that the color story for Rose is super convenient for minimalist nail art. And even though I want some of Nostalgic, I feel like I have a few similar ones from last year's fall. However, being able to get them for a discounted price might tip the scales in favor of a purchase. Thanks for the comparisons and beautiful swatches!
Love Becca and Maggie...and I have a daughter named Maggie so I’ll be picking that one up for sure. Along with Ella from the summer for my other daughter. I’m not a lefty, but my dad and one of my sons are. Both of them are very good at using their right hand though, just not for writing or eating. As a kid I did write with my paper turned sideways though and got a lot of curious questions about it. It just was easier to me.
I love both collections. Maggie and Cooper are my favorite out of them. I see what you mean about the Nostalgia collection not looking great all together, but I still like it. I also love the lip gloss on you! It looks so pretty!
Hi Kelli, I'm so glad you mentioned and wore the Zoya Hot Lips gloss for this video! I have several of them, and several of Zoya's lipsticks, too (none of which I have worn in a long time because of the pandemic and masks... aaarrgh!!). They are great quality, feel comfortable on my lips (not sticky), and there is a nice variety of colors to suit different skin tones.
I agree with you about the collections. I was on the fence about the Nostalgia collection, but when they came out with the Rose Palate collection, I picked that one instead. I really like them! Also, I'm not left handed, but fun fact my 3 year old looks like she's going to be left handed. She favors that hand to color and draw and hold a spoon 😊
I learned to use a computer with my right hand because I learned at school and even use my track pad right handed, I kind of write with my hand twisted above my paper
Lefty here! lol When I was in kindergarten, left handers were forced to learn to use their right hand. As a result, I can only use scissors with my right hand now. Writing with my right hand, however, didn't stick. I never realized that I use the mouse and trackpad with my right hand until you just mentioned that! I guess I ended up slightly ambidextrous because of it.
Hi Jennifer, most lefties are, in fact, ambidextrous because we have to be. And did you know that only 2% of the left handed population is female?? Only 10 or 11% of the population overall are lefties, so we are extremely rare.
I picked up the nostalgic (& love it) before they started advert the rose. I probably would have waited since I can't afford both right now. But I'm happy. Hopefully I'll get some of the rose eventually. It's REALLY helpful to see this & be aware of the similarities.
I was just thinking about the Rose collection, and hoping you would swatch it. It's my favorite of the two collections, but I really like dusky shades in general. Maggie is a must have for me!
Lefty here! I've always felt more comfortable using a right hand mouse for my computer. I do have left-handed scissors and when I'm writing my paper is always at an angle to prevent smudging. The smell of Starlet, right!? Heavenly.
