This is most methodical and enlightening tutorial. And above all it's so understandable. Great video. Thank you so much. I am low contact and just got two high contract color shirts in relation to me. I could not figure out what is wrong with them. Now I know!!! ♥️💃♥️
Hi jen i love your analysis of colour because i also study colour because i do art. I draw people fashions and rooms of homes. So this helps me with that as well as my fashions. Thanks so much. Thats true. I was born with red hair. Now i have dark black hair and i wear deep blues, cool and dark blacks. Deep violets and deep teals.
Does "low contrast" means you are soft? Because the last "low contrast" old lady looks really bright to me. And also the first "high contrast" dark lady looked very soft to me. So I am confused 😕
Contrast is the difference between two things (colors). The dark skinned woman can be HIGHLY contrasted because of her very dark skin and white eyes, but like you I think she can very well be a LOW contrasted individual because she has dark skin, dark hair and dark pupils all of the same VALUE. I believe others seldom pay attention to one's eyes and teeth for contrast against their other features but maybe they will. The brighter older lady is a LOW contrasted individual because all of her features are of the same VALUE. So the dark skinned lady is DARK LOW contrasted and the brighter lady is LIGHT LOW contrasted.
confusing....the grey haired woman with blue eyes at the end is used in other videos as a "bright" but now you are saying she shouls be "low contrast" and show a rather muted color.. ??
Her contrast is LOW for sure because all of her features basically fall into the same VALUE ranges, but her OVERALL complexion is very BLENDED which makes her SOFT. She would maybe fall into a soft cool and light category.
Nice points about color. I'm currently about to switch my work outfit to charcoal/olive color which is I believe a lower contrast look? I think it'll work for my coloring. Who says dressing for work has to be a drag.
@@sinarosemond9950 If you bothered to listen through her take on contrast then you would know it is Not clear she is aware of that fact! Alot of people are not aware that white & black again are not colors. Colors are what is presented in the rainbow 🌈 no white, no black and no gray! My comment was not rude, your real problem is that I commented at all. I can so I did, step you don't want me to come for you so don't come for me. You also have a problem that I didn't pay her a compliment for her breakdown contrast and comparison.
@@Marsolan I still stand by my original comment, I thought she was going to blow me away with her breakdown on contrast and comparison. She didn't and I wasn't blown away with what she had to say! This is the second video of hers I watched where she bumble and stumble through it! For the record my day was fine thankyou for asking!!!!
I agree with you that black and white are not considered “colours” in that way. In everyday language most people refer to them as colours though and for the sake of this video I don’t think a separation into colours / black and white would’ve been useful or helpful to be honest. For simplicity I would refer to black and white as colours in this context too as they are, like all the other actual colours, a shade that we can choose to wear. I’d rather say “I like wearing these colours best” and not add “plus these shades of grey, white and black”. And I think the others thought your comment came across as rude because of the way you started it. It did sound a bit passive aggressive to me too.

Thanks, Jen! This explanation is so clear to me. And I love your FB group.
Thanks Jen. How do the eyes figure in? My hair is silver/white, my skin is light but my eyes are dark brown.
Really well explained. Great video Jen. Thank you!
Thank you for this wonderful video, Jen!
Great video! I understand this much better than I did previously

News flash I have an art background and white is NOT a color at all, and neither is black they're both shades!
Is it possible that you had a bad day or week? Your comment is pretty rude ... I think she's fully aware of that
@@sinarosemond9950 agree. Thank you for saying this. ♥️
