    Bro...I need help.....I'm a overweight guy and whenever I try to do those crunches I always get a stomach cramp or spasm where I feel like the stomach becomes a knot....its become so bad that crunches are the exercise I fear the most.....its almost like i know that I'm gonna die if i do this.....any way to stop this from happening??

    • @davidduncan1226
      @davidduncan1226  3 года назад +5

      A couple thoughts on that, if you're contracting the muscle too much (sitting up too high) that will make you more prone to cramping. So maybe try not sitting up so high. Also maybe try taking a potassium supplement or eating a lot of avocados and or bananas. But if you're more than around 30lbs over weight you can probably just skip the ab exercises and focus on cardio and diet. Ab workouts aren't very effective for weight loss. They're good to do but while you're primary goal is weight loss focus on the cardio

      @@dr.skycrafter9966 this was almost a full two years ago but I’ll try to explain what I remember: I did a lot of sprints. (40s, 50s, and even 60s) and then another thing I would do is “resisted sprints” where I’d have a partner hold me back with a resistance band while I sprint. Another thing is strengthening my legs “squats, deadlifts, all that). Last, I also performed some plyometrics as well. It was a long tough process but throughout it all I always stuck with it and stayed consistent and I eventually became fast.

    GIVE WORKOUT PROGRAM YOU USED FOR LEGS

    • @davidduncan1226
      @davidduncan1226  3 года назад +2

      So that was about 9 years ago and it wasn't a written program, I just did legs as hard and often as possible. I remember some days I'd do squats for 3+ hours straight. I wouldn't recommend it to most people because it would be VERY easy to over train and get injured. If you want a really good leg program that I wrote for improving speed go to GentechNutrition.com and then go to the Training page and you can get a free program.

      @davidduncan1226  3 года назад +2

      I'm not sure, I know the workouts were crazy long probably 3-5 hours so maybe every 4 days or so. I wouldn't say it was the best method and definitely put me at pretty high risk of injury from the volume
