Let’s get this great world sport spreading further! I loved seeing Afghanistan do so well, I’m always loving the underdog(unless they play Australia or local teams I support 😉)! 120,000 people don’t show up to watch a boring game. Tomorrow the Boxing Day test begins at the MCG, the biggest annual test match crowd in the world. They’ll probably only get 60,000 on day one, but it goes for five days.
People that don't understand cricket will never know the true brilliance of this innings. The shots he was playing with absolutely zero footwork due to leg cramps are simply astonishing!!
Not to mention, the Aussies were 7/91 when he walked onto the pitch. I doubt there will ever be an innings like this, especially not under these circumstances. Commiserations to the Afghani players. TBH, they played very well, especially as the underdogs. Maxi just single-handedly crashed their party.
This innings motivated Australia to win the world cup when everyone write them off and mocked them when Cummins said we want to silence the crowd that's the big aim for us and they silenced not only the crowd but 1.4B people as well Maxwell's innings is greatest ever in ODI Cricket history
If you think that then you don't really understand our psyche. We are always motivated to win. What do you think Maxi was doing? Winning. I don't even think this was Australia's most important match in the round robin. That would be the Sri Lanka game led by Cummins and Zampa. At one stage Australia was 0- 2 and Sri Lanka were 125-0 and we rolled them for 209. Cummins got both the openers and Zampa took 4. That was the difference between 0-3 and 1-2. Australia didn't lose a match from that point on. Maxi's innings was miraculous but as I see it, Australia already had that belief because Cummins set the tone. It was no coincidence that he was the batsman at the other end in that partnership. He only made 12 but he rotated the strike and he never panicked or threw it away. He understood the only chance of winning was at the other end.
This was a performance like you can only see in movies. Absolutely unbelievable knock from Maxi. I did watch the entire sequence of his batting and was not sure until the last 2 shots he hit that Aus will win. He played like playing video game with a cheat code.
There should be some reason for cricket analysts and IPL franchises to keep supporting him consistently despite failures in IPL season after season. The reason is very simple he can do it from the point nobody thinks of.

I ended up watching the entire match and for me , following cricket for 20 yrs , I witnessed the best ever batting display i have ever seen. Aus have always been world beaters from 1999 to 2015 , they then had great players retire and the Aussie success went down hill pretty fast , they went through a lot of young talent at the time but still were probably at thier lowest in all of any cricket game and cricket series. It definitely was a worry at the time but in just 2 yrs 22 - 2023 they were back , fire power with the bat with the newer look Aussie team and the best bowling attack arguible with starc , Cummins and hazelwood.. they are now on top of the world winning thier 6th world cup in India, the most successful cricket team with those 6 trophy's and refused to not give up , unbelievable. The other teams that had won any wc , it was 2 teams
I am his fan from 2015 and if he don't performs with bat and ball he never forgets to perform in fielding i love his fielding very much and second last season in bbl his 154 and mid on or off i don't know exactly but he was running and took a blinder in my opinion it was the best catch in the history of cricket even though it was a blinder

To start my comment, Melbourne is pronounced Melb'n. Us Aussie's in general don't take ourselves to seriously. It's just something in our way of life & culture with a laid back, she'll be right mate attitude to life. We say that we work to live not live to work, so it's just something in our Aussie DNA that makes us the way we are. We are a sports loving nation, sport is the most important thing in Aussie's lives. It's more important than politics & sport is an actual religion for us. No matter the sport we get behind, not just one sport like in India where it's all about cricket, for us it's every Aussie team representing our nation in every sport, male & female as well as our individual sportsmen & women like our swimmers. We this year alone has won around 4 world cups this year in all different sports & speaking of our swimmers, they absolutely smashed the world outta the water this year at the world champs in Japan. Not just individually but in in relays too & not just winning gold but smashing world records at the same time. Even our biggest rivals in the pool, the US, just couldn't compete with our "Dolphins". For a country that's the 6th largest in the world, we have a tiny population of 25 million as the majority of the country is inhospitable, we do punch well above our weight in international sport in general
THE BIG SHOW - with the innings of a LIFETIME! 😲💎 The Afghans are a great Team with some great Players. So Maxi's innings actually helped us win The World Cup! 🏆 It's amazing he survived a full body cramp! Astounding. Thank you, Maxi! 🥰 M 🦘🏏😎
i am a crazy indian cricket fan and let me tell you this inning was the best out of all crickiting history juts bcz of the sheer situtation and essence of it
Australia struggled to beat a team that, 10 years ago, no one knew existed. Ten years later, they almost beat former champions. Super proud of the Afghan cricket team.
I'm not hating my country India but our team really needs to learn how we can turn the unfavorable games on our side with responsibility. I have not seen India win from a dead situation apart from Gabba win and Kohli 82* I think this is the reason India has match winning combo but not trophy winning combo.
Afghanistan worst fielding and Afghan bowlers immature approach not even bowled a single Yorker or away deliveries to batsmen who had cramps still a mystery ..!!! Whatever, Huge salute to maxwell's brutal innings ...❤❤
Away deliveries was there he smacked em fours or reverse sixes! Who is bowling Yorker consistently these days?? Even starc bumrah was not that consistent.
Please make also comparison vdo on how much, Afl and Rugby Player in comparison to cricketer in Australia Like comparison of AFL auction and IPL auction ❤❤
Australia’s jaw dropping performances, comebacks and brilliant strategies defined that they are the true owners of the title “The Mighty Australia”. While everyone had their eyes on India, South Africa and New Zealand, everyone seemed to ignore their potential! Actually in reality, they were always the truly deserving team to win the title. They deserved it, and they won it! It’s not just a physical game, it’s psychological as well. While everyone seemed to underestimate them, they were busy making plans and strategies!! Hands down, they are The best team I’ve ever seen.
Maxwell played best innings of all times despite he was having cramp in that match he can't able to run properly also and seriously falling down to ground because of cramp i salute Glenn Maxwell
I feel like Pat Cummins role isn't appreciated enough. If Pat Cummins had lost his wicket Australia would have 2 left. And if the last 2 batters went out Australia would lose even if Maxwell was still in
There is one mistake i found in the video, lyon was not part of the world cup squad in 2023 it was Adam Zampa instead (ref to 06:28 ) It must've been a spur-of-the-moment thing but Kuddos great video.
Australia is the team of champions, they know how to handle pressure. They were in last position in group stage but they were also the only one who doesn't choke on big occasion

You have made some valid points. Great insight 👏
Surely GOAT ! Thanks to maxwell I won a friendly bet ! hahaha !
THE BIG SHOW - with the innings of a LIFETIME! 😲💎 The Afghans are a great Team with some great Players. So Maxi's innings actually helped us win The World Cup! 🏆
It's amazing he survived a full body cramp! Astounding.
Thank you, Maxi! 🥰
M 🦘🏏😎
Absolutely amazing Maxwell ❤❤❤❤
Maxwell 💖🙏🏏
literally Goosbumps!
Legendary innings 🙌
This was a good concept for a video. I liked it
Thanks man 💖🙌
Maxi devil innings👑⚡💯🔥💖🔥🐶🐶🐕🐕........
Great video. Maxi deserved his time in the sun in that tournament.
Absolutely! He helped building the momentum for Australia's comeback 🔥
@@officialsportica it was a phenomenal result. Possibly the best of Australia’s World Cup victories.
My all time favorite innings In a World cup Match or any match.
Same here! What a knock 🙌
Big-show for reason ❤
Big Show 🐐🙌
Love from Bangladesh 🇧🇩 ❤
Thanks bro 💖
This match and match between Pak and NZ were the best of the 2023 CWC tournament
i am a crazy indian cricket fan and let me tell you this inning was the best out of all crickiting history juts bcz of the sheer situtation and essence of it
Australia struggled to beat a team that, 10 years ago, no one knew existed. Ten years later, they almost beat former champions. Super proud of the Afghan cricket team.
Proud moment!
I'm not hating my country India but our team really needs to learn how we can turn the unfavorable games on our side with responsibility.
I have not seen India win from a dead situation apart from Gabba win and Kohli 82*
I think this is the reason India has match winning combo but not trophy winning combo.
Valid points!
Afghanistan worst fielding and Afghan bowlers immature approach not even bowled a single Yorker or away deliveries to batsmen who had cramps still a mystery ..!!! Whatever, Huge salute to maxwell's brutal innings ...❤❤
Big shot for a reason 🐐🙌
Away deliveries was there he smacked em fours or reverse sixes! Who is bowling Yorker consistently these days?? Even starc bumrah was not that consistent.
Please make also comparison vdo on how much, Afl and Rugby Player in comparison to cricketer in Australia
Like comparison of AFL auction and IPL auction ❤❤
We don't have Auctions for sports in australia.
@@largechips comparison vdo about earnings
We are actually researching these topics. Let's see if we can find something interesting 🔥
@@officialsportica ❤️
Australia’s jaw dropping performances, comebacks and brilliant strategies defined that they are the true owners of the title “The Mighty Australia”. While everyone had their eyes on India, South Africa and New Zealand, everyone seemed to ignore their potential! Actually in reality, they were always the truly deserving team to win the title. They deserved it, and they won it! It’s not just a physical game, it’s psychological as well. While everyone seemed to underestimate them, they were busy making plans and strategies!! Hands down, they are The best team I’ve ever seen.
Most feared team for a reason 🙌
@@officialsportica Indeed 🙌🏻
The simple FACT is this is and will more than likely forever be the best WORLD CUP INNINGS of all time ❤️🇦🇺❤️
Definitely one of the best innings 🙌
I've been lucky witnessing maxwell stokes and perera on their best day
Truly inspirational
Greatest ODI innings of all time 🔥 🔥
Indeed!
I remember watching it live it was legendary
I took a screenshot of the winning six, and I have framed it on my wall. That's how legendary it was.
Best ODI innings EVER !
Maxwell played best innings of all times despite he was having cramp in that match he can't able to run properly also and seriously falling down to ground because of cramp i salute Glenn Maxwell
This was magical
Magical indeed 💖🙌
I feel like Pat Cummins role isn't appreciated enough. If Pat Cummins had lost his wicket Australia would have 2 left. And if the last 2 batters went out Australia would lose even if Maxwell was still in
There is one mistake i found in the video, lyon was not part of the world cup squad in 2023 it was Adam Zampa instead (ref to 06:28 )
It must've been a spur-of-the-moment thing but Kuddos great video.
Australia is the team of champions, they know how to handle pressure. They were in last position in group stage but they were also the only one who doesn't choke on big occasion
Most feared team for a reason 🙌
Video Quality , Voice , Videography Editing Everything is perfect
this channel deserves more "
LOve from Bangladesh brother
Appreciate it brother 🙌 Love for Bangladesh 💖
Wish he’d do something at RCB. Him and Faf have been duds this season
Maxwell is homestly a miracle
Maxwell 🐐
Does anybody else find it weird that a video about cricket is being narrated by a American/Canadian voice/robot?
Haha we try! It's real voice btw
One error was Nathan Lyon was not in the World Cup squad otherwise good video 💯
