- Running the V8 again after a year, trying open pipes and some smaller silencers. I have no idea how much power and torque it produces. Not much, at a guess. The V10 is about 1 year away from completion. It will run fuel injection with twin injectors, top mounted supercharger, variable inlet valve timing and dry sump system
To me, the mona lisa is just paint smeared on wood. These engines are real art
yes its an absolute joke what you get to paint useless pictures, to what you get paid for really talented mechanical work
Well to be fair....when the Mona Lisa was painted the technology to build things like this did not exist. But I agree.....these scale engines are incredible pieces of art...the modern day Mona Lisa!
How
Art is Not what is it, Art is How it is
I've been an auto/truck/boat/aircraft mechanic/technician over 40 years, I have a vision of an engine running, along with all the moving parts but there's no way I could design and build an engine like this. It's hard to put into words, the things I'm thinking about this masterpiece. Beautiful work/fun, my friend. Thank you for sharing your wisdom with everyone. It's a pleasure to see. I'm going to subscribe to your show here and hope to see more. Thank's again.
Right? It's incredible isn't it?
Has more cams than a viper v10, though i guess DOHC is a simpler design on miniature engines due to not needing rocker arms and pushrods?
I would love to see more, the craftsmanship is simply amazing
i don't care what anybody says, that's pretty freaking amazing.
four camshafts?!
D.O.H.C. - double over head cam, very common.
Rob, lost and late i understand it's common on full scale engines, i'm just overly impressed by the detail.
+Rob, lost and late
Not at all common on scaled down hand built engines...
That is such a clean running engine! I love how everything has been machine soooo nicely!
I would rather have the video shaky than the seasick-vision that RUclips stabiliser provides ...
I completely agree, but I can't seem to change it back now.
so it's not just me then
I find it so amazing people can build things like this. I can bearly color in the lines
You can *barely spell too 🤣
I ran out of superlatives commenting some other of your build videos. One thing is certain, you are a mechanical genius, and your engines are like waching the operation of a fine Swiss mechanical watch compared to other builds, which looks crude beside your masterpieces of RC engines.
Thank you so much for making build videos, so we can watch your genius in awe.
Cheers.
Brilliant Keith.
I can't wait to see the V10 running.
Einstein comes to mind.
Pure genius.
No words from the infidels and daydreamers.
I run my 1/8 rc electric cars in speed run events.. what I wouldn’t give to run one with a proper engine like this!!.. awesome work.. wish I had the skills and means..
I don't know where to start and think I'd never end once begun, so, bravo. Bravo to you, sir.
Hopefully this will silence the more persistent and ill informed who continue to display their ignorance with such enthusiasm Keith. I recently spotted a link to your work and have been catching up on your exploits. All I can say is thank you for sharing your achievements.
Mind blown. Hands down the most impressive piece of engineering I've seen on the net.
Jawdroppingly amazing! The attention to detail is outrageous.
Oh my lord that thing purrs like a kitten, the exhaust system worked fantastic.
I'm really impressed. Nice project! Thanks for the video.
Wow. Amazing engineering. Well done
Amazing !! so many skills in one person, I have no words. True art. well done, sir.
Those are truly works of art . truly beautiful .. you have something to be extremely proud of .. Thumbs up ...
Forget the engine...just look at those headers! Those are undeniable genius!
Modeled after the 85-92 GM TPI intakes. Impressive.
Surely a modern day Conley engine. This is impressing and shows how far things have come since Conley made his first model engine.
Maybe, but productionising it would be almost impossible.
this is a beautiful piece of machinery ,, the V10 looks like it's gonna be even cooler when your done with it
keep up the good work
very nice!!!!!!! I have no use for one of these. BUT I still want one. Just to hear it running is so cool.
Man. Respect! Those things are smooth, excellent detail. perfect. Thank you
I absolutely love how he has chosen to make them both double DOHC's (Quad Cam) it just adds to the complexity of the amazing build. I wish all V style engines went this route ... and got rid of the 1950 cam in block design ... uugghh!!
I hope Stuart little don't here about this lol
Hear*
This is a masterpiece in engineering. Well done Keith5700
The TPI style intake is awesome
Can't wait to see more. Some serious skills right here. Cheers!
I want one so badly! What you guys do is amazing! I wish you success and hopefully get these motors into the market. I could see an Rc build with one of these bad boys. And I'm so subscribing (:
You guys should make a website or an Etsy for orders! and pictures.
That looks and sounds so much better than the Conely Stinger 609 !!! .................
That's fantastic. Now that Ive finally graduated to large scale, I'd love to have one of these in a running car. I don't care if it only gets up to 5mph. Just to have a running 1/4 scale with a real V8 engine would be amazing. Expensive as hell, but amazing.
wow a man passionate about his Hobby Human Excellence
just came across this video and your car wow, and what can anyone say about that motor, but holy shit what a beast. and the sound with the purple tips
I'd love to hear that v10 running! That thing's cool!!!
The exhaust sound is excellent
please please keep posting videos on this build... and the car too! Great work!
This is amazing god knows how much this thing costs wow well done
Amazing machine work man and those exhaust headers look flawless.
Te V10 is a great project. I wish you could have explained more of what were you doing. Congratulations!
That beautiful sound🤤
Beautiful work.. just beautiful.
It would be hilariously cool to put this into a go cart
Oh My God, dude! That's sounds beautiful!
Wow very cool!! You are super talented!!
That's awesome, congratulations!!!! great job!!!! simply the best.
That thing sounds absolutely monstrous!! you should build a replica of a '67 chevvy or something to throw it into!!! That would make for the most badass RC car ever!!
I wish these were mass produced and could be bought easily. I have always wanted to use an engine like this in a rc car
I would put this in a go-kart with a centrifugal clutch, and then I would drive around the neighborhood. =)
This engine has very little torque, it won't work
I know this is years late but did you build this completely your self??? This is just amazing
Holy shit that's cool! O_O Can't wait to see that V10 have a go.
***** Conely V8's (which are 100cc) sell for around $7000 USD :0 they are fairly basic, and carbed, and nowhere near as complex as these :0 so i could only imagine how much he'd charge. Alot of man hours have gone into these pieces of work, and i would doubt he would sell it
I’m shocked at how few views this masterpiece has right now
355k now btw
Beautiful work!
Your V8 1/4 is fantastic!
I'm planning to build a copy of mine Ferrari 308 engine, Most worry about the crankchaft tho. ; and the moulding of the block... - a long way to go!!!
Imagine if they come from a production line!!! 😍😍😍😍
please put that on a fatbike and let me have a go!! solo sweet best model I've heard by far!
All I can say is that they are bad ass!!
Dude that thing sounds mean as fuck!!! Awesome!!!
You got a mini Mustang in that engine!
The water pump was not spinning on the first L98 / ZR1 engine! & hope you got it running better, it's got a little blow by & get some hotter plugs and some small Nonanti-foulers. LoL or Time for a rebuild! All Nice pieces of work.
I think he said one of the plugs on the left bank was broken and that he has had more spark plug problems than anything else on these engines.
I'm just trying to make some hotter plugs at the moment. What are anti-foulers?
Absolutely fabulous. Main questions: did you fully design this on your own, or use some plans from others, or a mix?
Secondly, was this done all on "typical" tools (such as bridgeport, lathe) or did you use some highly "exotic" tools? Again, LOVE it!
Hi, all my own design, made from bar stock, on manual lathe and mill.
Do you have the machining process on video?
That is so kool man love those engines
Sweet!! I want one..thanks for the upload.
It must go into a mini 1/4 scale mustang!
Imagine this on a moped 😂😂
the ignition coil looks bigger than the engine.... dam fine job
yes, unfortunately. and theres 2 of them!
It’s great you can get your son to come record for but tbh I wish I could come learn how to know all the details on how to make this stuff
Just curious, do you use pistonrings on these little engines?
yes he does.
you need to make this run on a scale car its going to be awesome
Not sure I understand why the rod journals are offset. Interesting.
The best diy engine!
Wow that's amazing!!!
Bit lean on the right bank maybe? Or do you have an oil breather feeding into right side of intake? Just wondering as looks like only smoking out the left pipe. I'm not knocking it it's a little beast of an engine and looks amazing. I so want one in a pit bike or mini quad.
Keith, I am so curious about this project! I have spent so much time researching to get started (carefully). My question is (or better yet), can you show us the (little) spark plug you used?
Wow. Just wow!!! I get the little machined engine components, but I don't understand a miniature ignition system, or carburetor!? How are those downsized!? Amazing work!
Whow! I would really want to visit you and share ideas. -I dont know if Donald presuare it! However, I'm from Norway. I just started my "Pre-project" V2 engine for a V8 Ferrari motor. I have learned a lot during this.- melting and casting everything down to piston, rods, and engine block. It goes ok, but then... It looks just you have reached another level...?
Now if you could create a vacuum snout that actually pulls the exhaust out lol
If you click on "Nelson Racing Engines", and/or "Nick's Garage", you'll see how they port fresh air in and draw exhaust gases out. Hope this helps.
sounds amazing
"Take it off hammer drill" bearings would have loved that.
Sim o that was my first thought.... how much damage was done just then loading the bearings in the direction they aren't designed to be loaded...
Yep, made me cringe! I might be suicidal if I spent thousands of hours of exacting detail to perfect a masterpiece and destroyed it because the drill chuck was set wrong lol. Surprised they even use a drill to start it, that's something I do all the time, but I am NOT working on anything of this caliber lol. I would suggest putting a model airplane prop cone on the back and use a handheld 12v cone starter. Look at me, a complete idiot telling these geniuses how to do their job lol!
you sir are a genius!
Its amazing to see the little beast..is there any way you can build a full scale running engine for ATV???
I would love to see his machine shop !!!!
cool TPI intake!
Beautiful engine build Keith,
Have you ever considered building a Bourke Engine?
I'm looking for someone whould take on that project
for me on a contract basis.
Anyways, keep on keeping on.
Cheers
Jolly good!
You should make these and sell them, they're awesome. I'd love to learn how to do this.
You can buy a Conley scale engine for about $8000.
I would love to see the build process!
That is so sick. Congrats for gating it running as I know they can be a pain. Where did you get your engine from??
I made it.
you are funny and a mechanical master, i'll take one
Simply amazing ...
That sounds so much like a mini vette lol how can you make these so realistic
Waiting for some genius to find a way to make a scaled down supercharger or turbo. These are really cool.
Amazing!
Tell me you have "How it was made" videos of these gorgeous machines!
nice work
nicest one I've seen wow!!
How muchmachinery does it take to build something like that.? THose are works of art!
I have always wanted to put one of these engines on my scooter
