- How to Make a Simple Kayak
In today's video I want to show you how to make simple and quite stable kayak from 3 basic materials: sticks, transparent tape and stretch film. Current project can be completed in 1 day. All needed instructions are included in the video! Kayak can be used for fishing or as pleasure boat. If you accidently cut your kayak - the hole can be easoly fixed in seconds with transparent tape.

i see a bunch of comments saying "Where did you find cellotape in the wild?" but did you ever say that this was a survival kayak built from materials found in nature?? no! This was an awesome video!!
I think I always used to call it clear packing tape...or something like that...and I've seen that growing around in nature sometimes...but cellophane in nature?? 😳 no way dude
it's a great design! don't listen to what ppl say "oh it's not natural", whatever - it's a cheap and easy way to build watercraft. and that's perfect when youre broke and still want/have to use the water. for example, during a summer camping holiday (and you might flip it for a profit afterwards as well!)

Try lashing the ends of the kayak frame between two trees when you are ready to put on the cellophane wrap. It's a lot easier, you can spin the whole kayak around as you wrap it.
Isn't it plastic wrap that he was using? Cellophane is the stuff on cigarette packaging. The whole construction thing was still pretty cool.

Oh wow! I love this video! I use to do these things all the time and I seriously miss it!:) I use to walk around with a big knife strapped to my hip so I could cut down trees easily!:) love the video! We have a video that is for the actors and this video gives us great ideas for things on set!:)

Hardest thing is finding the right sticks. I ve never seen a stick that can bow so good and don't break
I had the same problem for a bit. Eventually found a type that works (sickamore sapplings?) I'll confirm the name next time i'm out.
Usually saplings are pretty springy, lots of woody weeds are very flexible. Give them a try
Soak your sticks in water

Well it could sink yeah but if you can swim you won't drown in a small lake
U wouldn't be kayaking if you can't swim and even if u can't u would wear a life jacket 👍.
this guy coud have drowned and died because the cayak wasnt reinforced enought and that clear plastick coud have been broken because of the fishes fin when the fish fin went near or under the cayak the fishes fin coud have cut and makes a small hole.

Should not really be disposable. I can already imagine the amount of microplastics that your are leaving if that thing breaks and is left to nature for animals to break even further. Nice idea tho!

Yet that’s not practical, that is pretty cool. And probably cost like 15 bucks for the Saran Wrap and tape. I would have never thought of it.
Make sure you bring a full roll of tape and a saw when you flying in a plane and skydiving
