    Teslacam Stories is a series of Tesla owners real experiences told by the Tesla Dashcam and Sentry Mode videos. All incidents are recorded from Tesla vehicles and submitted to this channel by other Tesla enthusiast. I contact each person who send me their videos to talk with them and learn more about their story and to follow up what happened after what we see on their video. Voice over and captions are added to describe what happened, and why. I believe that this additional information regarding the incident gives the videos a newsworthy value.
    From the footage and additional information, a viewer can learn the consequences of bad driving and can educate his/her self with better driving safety. This process also gives the videos a great educational value. It is my desire to add my own unique and creative value in a transformative way to ensure you enjoy and learn from the videos being presented.

      I wasn’t injured, but have been involved in a DUI wreck, ended up driving my Jeep over a curb onto a parkway in front of somebody’s house to avoid a head on and still got hit! Luckily, it was in the left rear quarter and I was alone in the truck. Damage was minor enough that it could be driven home then to the body shop, though the drunk ended going to the hospital once the police found him.
      Even though it was a low speed crash on something slightly more than a residential street, it would have made for one hell of a dash cam video today, especially if the Aerostar van following the drunk had one as well for a second angle!

    • @hotlush
      @hotlush 2 года назад +17

      From the oncoming vehicle being visible, to them reacting it takes 11(!) seconds, including 5 seconds after the Tesla warns them, before they react.
      That is just poor driving.

    • @eh42
      @eh42 2 года назад +1

      Expect a lot more of this as society traverses the valley of accidents caused by distracted drivers & not prime time ready autopilots.
      I am continually convinced that most people do not actually want to drive. They want to be chauffeured. The driver had autopilot running - this gave them the "excuse" to be less involved in the driving responsibilities than normal. Concerning, yes. Surprising? No.

Any body work lowers the value of the vehicle then prior to the accident by typically a couple %. Their insurance company said $1,000 was just the default minimum for it and we weren't complaining.

    I think it is a very poor design on the Model Y that the trunk lid essentially extends into the bumper. In this case if the bumper just gets the slightest hit, the lid gets damaged as well. On most cars the bumper sits completely below the trunk lid and thus offers some protection so that the lid and locking mechanism would get damaged so easily. That could've been much less expensive if it had been a Model 3 or X, where the bumper protrudes a bit outward from the trunk lid.

    My guess for the damages caused by the elderly woman losing her sight: $11,538.44
    Edit: More accurately, caused by her crashing into the Tesla. When she lost her sight, she should have slowed down even more or even stopped. Once in awhile I'll have a sneeze come randomly while driving. I ALWAYS let off the gas and depending on traffic, speed, weather, straightness of road, etc, sometimes I'll just about stop. I make sure whatever move I perform is done safely, of course. 🙂
    Edit 2: Dang! I thought my guess night might be a little high, but nope! I was under by $4,093.76! 🤯💲💲💲

    7:00 Border Patrol can operate within 100 miles of the border. By law. I didn’t always know but I was like most ppl that intuitively thought Border Patrol only worked “at the border”. But research it and the definition of the border where CBP have jurisdiction is within 100 miles of the actual border. That includes checkpoints.

    • @quickdropz
      @quickdropz 2 года назад

      The entire door had to be painted. In CA diminished value is a great thing that people can take advantage of but many don't know to. Many insurance companies have some sort of minimum for it as well. The Tesla appreciated $15,000 in value since getting it so any body work lowers that and that estimation was ~2% of the car's value or $1,000.

    One thing I've noticed on this channel, if a Tesla is damaged by not the owner the repair shop gouges the insured outrageously. If the Tesla is damaged by the owner they will find a much more reasonable option to repair it. $2,500 to repair a DOOR DING?! It's a CAR not a kidney!

    • @quickdropz

  • @fishernate

    If Kiran is convinced that the alert is what saved him from getting in an accident then Kiran shouldn't be driving, just like the person going the wrong way... The fact that he also took SO LONG to react once the alarm DID sound also shows how little he actually was paying attention... People like Kiren are extremely dangerous and shouldn't be allowed to drive EVER again... Except for maybe a moped...
