Teslacam Stories is a series of Tesla owner's real experiences told by the Tesla Dashcam and Sentry Mode videos. All incidents are recorded from Tesla vehicles and submitted to this channel by other Tesla enthusiasts. I contact each person who sends me their videos to talk with them and learn more about their story and to follow up on what happened after what we see on their video. Voice-over and captions are added to describe what happened and why. I believe that this additional information regarding the incident gives the videos a newsworthy value.
From the footage and additional information, a viewer can learn the consequences of bad driving and can educate his/her self with better driving safety. This process also gives the videos a great educational value. It is my desire to add my own unique and creative value in a transformative way to ensure you enjoy and learn from the videos being presented.

That light that Amy went through was yellow for the entire video. Why did she not slow down and stop? She had more the enough time and could have avoided the crash.
Because the road was wet. Plus also, when Amy passed, the light was still yellow. It only turned red about half a second later
@@BukuiZhao Tesla could of stopped seconds prior even with the wet roads, she was at fault no question about it
@@BukuiZhao Lol, come on Amy, stop using fake profiles. The distance was well enough to stop without aquaplaning. Yes it did turn red half second later but Amy had enough time to stop
@@BukuiZhao that is a lame excuse, it was wet, not snowy or icy. And the distance she drove with the yellow light on is huge. So yeah, crappy driver.

Amy is not cursed, amy is a bad driver
Exactly. I wonder what her payments are now.
I’ve driven for 25 years, living in Seattle, Salt Lake, Denver, ect, 0 accidents. I’ve avoided countless close calls. Dive careful, and concentrate fully on predicting traffic, don’t break the laws, and these things tend to not happen.
And she's rich
Amy's cars are cursed because she's the one driving them. It's like when maxwrist gets a new bike
And a tesla drivers
They are basically as the average Mustang Driver
They always overestimate the cars because they think they have the best cars
In fact they have the worst of all together
6:35 the dude just opens his door before the cars even stopped ready to sue his ass
lol
I thought I was the only person that new that😂😂😂
what does this mean?
the mercedes driver was an ass, so what if the guy didnt let him cut the linr? just get behind him!1
@@scottmcshannon6821 So what you're saying is that you don't know how a zipper merge works? That's ok, bad drivers generally don't. The Toyota driver was the ass in that clip, not the Mercedes driver.
For the Wales clip, I'm English and cycle everywhere as my only form of transit
1. It is legally required for drivers to have that amount of distance when passing cycles and horses
2. It is illegal to overtake there, the road markings clearly indicate this
3. The cyclist did not signal or use the turning lane, instead using the wrong turning lane for that junction
Both at fault, however the driver would be liable as the larger vehicle and the fact they where illegally overtaking, Hope this helps!
Edit: Cyclists have full priority over cars on all roadways on the UK except for motorways, they have, legally, a right to be there
The cyclist was entirely right and the driver entirely wrong but a lot of drivers think the cyclist is wrong because he exists.
Which is why ppl hate cyclists. They can try to cause an accident like this and still get off scott free.
cyclists should be on the sidewalk
@@ariestitties Which is why we need to build bicycle lanes. Drivers are so dangerous to each other, to bicyclists, to pedestrians, and to buildings that they need their own separate lanes away from traditional traffic like bicycles and pedestrians.
@@langhamp8912 I think you’ll find the cyclist was also wrong. He did not use the filter lane correctly and also did not signal. They both were in the wrong but in a scenario where it would have been legal for the car to overtake a dare say the law would still side with the cyclist as they seem to never do any wrong.
First story around 0:30: "She wasn*t sure if she could stop in time" -- so she decided to run a red light without making any attempt to brake. Unbelievable.
Big brain boss babe thinking
The light was yellow when she went into the intersection and when the crash happened. No idea where the police got a red light from. Must be colour blind 😂
I feel like Amy could use some supplemental driver safety classes. 💀Although I wouldn't mind some myself after almost going off the road on a short off ramp after getting my Y. Good thing they can go from 70 to 30 pretty fast 😱
IF THE TRAFFIC CAM shows your car inside the intersection “box” when the light is red, then you’re getting a ticket. Your car must be exited the other side to be compliant with Michigan law

@@electrictroy2010 Good to know. I don't travel much for good reason. I should probably take some supplemental driving classes. 😅
@@electrictroy2010
Doesn't really matter at any rate though. Amy was deliberately racing through, which is always reckless driving or a deliberate crash. If she avoided a full red light by sheer coincidence, is immaterial: Reckless agressive driver, possibly bash-cash, needs to be charged.
Longer episodes and more cam stories equal more satisfaction.
I ordered a MYP, and can’t wait to own the most American made car for the safety of my family.
Fun fact: Tesla scores early 1990's levels of safety with cars less than a third of the price outcompeting Tesla easily.
@@fredpuntdroad8701 Fun fact: fredpuntdroad8701 is trying to spread FUD through blatant lies.
Anyone can easily check the results of the various Teslas at organizations like EuroNCAP, NHTSA or IIHS. In fact, no Tesla ever got less than 5 stars in a crash test rating at any of these organizations.
Model Y broke the scale for safety of a vehicle of it's class when it was tested by EuroNCAP last year, and we even got to see a real world example of how safe the Y is when a doctor attempted to kill himself and his entire family by driving off a 330 foot cliff in California early this year; they all survived.
At NHTSA the 2023 Tesla Model Y has a five star rating in everything and at IIHS the 2023 Model Y is a "Top safety pick+".
When Amy hit the limit line at the crosswalk, the light turned red. She was at least 50% at fault.
IF THE TRAFFIC CAM shows your car inside the intersection “box” when the light is red, then you’re getting a ticket. Your car must be exited the other side to be compliant with Michigan law

Years ago I pulled up at lights, put the car in neutral, handbrake on. Heard the sound of screeching tyres behind me and saw a minivan crashing into my rear. The first thing the driver said as she got out was "But.. but... the light was yellow" By sheer coincidence, the next car to come along was a police car with an accident investigation researcher in it. Needless to say, I was entirely blameless

#9--I say the bicyclist was at fault for not paying attention to traffic and for not using a hand turn signal to let the driver behind know that he was turning right.
Enjoyed the longer episode instead of the shorts. Thanks for the great content.
5:22 that's not illegal left turn, you can turn left yielding to upcoming traffic. This is not the first time you are making this mistake in your videos
Yup. I know that area. The guy making the left was making a legal turn from a left turn lane.
10:03 that’s Belton.
I can really get behind a 17 minute Wham Bam video! I'm definitely satisfied.
Not Amy’s fault, light was yellow

How tf can you say Toohaiku was following the impaired driver from a safe distance when he’s following that closely?
Seriously should be a minimum of a 2 second gap and for safety more like 3 seconds!!!
More like 2 car lengths
25 years of turning wrenches and a flashlight in the sidewall is a new one on me!
17:12 Weirdly yes, I think it's the third or fourth flashlight in a tire I have seen, I don't know why so many are lost on roads, but they might be forgotten on the roof of a car or the bed of a truck, and then fall on the road. I think it's the shape of the front end that makes it dig into the road and push the back end trough the tire.
I wonder if that's one of those tactical flashlights?
Oh, that's where my flashlight went!
Jk, if I lost my streamlight stinger from my car and it punched through the tire, that person would probably be replacing a rim too... also, that cyclist was absolutely in the wrong. You should always use hand signals to convey intent of travel in absence of light signals
11:15 I didn't expect the bumper to fall off like this😂😂
must not be first time it fell off
#13: I hate when people try to be "polite" and yield their right-of-way.
DON'T DO THIS.
For the reason in the video, but also because it only makes traffic worse; people expect you to take the right-of-way, and being "nice" only confuses them - so they stop and wait to see what they should do. Also, if anything happens, your failure to yield the right-of-way puts you totally at fault.
This behavior is extremely common at 4-way stop signs. It seems like most people don't know how they work.
I heard one of the best pieces of advice about driving in traffic from a flight instructor: "Don't be polite. Be predictable."
(Some airplanes don't have radios, so the pilots need people to follow the rules, so they can know what to expect. Also, at an airport with a control tower, unusual maneuvers are distracting to air traffic controllers. Distractions are very very bad, in that job.)
Those 4-way stops are just bad, IMHO. I'm not sure, but I think most of the rest of the world puts stop signs only on intersections that are particularly accident-prone, and then only on two of the branches. All other intersections have no signs, which means the right-before-left rule applies. This means, everyone gives way to the person coming from the right, or to oncoming traffic if they're turning left themselves.
Unfortunatly, this can create a deadlock, e.g. car A wants to turn left, car B is oncoming, car C is coming from the left of car A. That means A has the RoW over C, C has the RoW over B, B has RoW over A. Everyone is waiting. The first one to wave the car he has the right of way over is the hero and resolves the situation.
The whole concept works rather well.
In US nobody would stop & cars would just impact. You need to have stop signs at intersections
10:27 I used to live on Main Street what a coincidence!
7:51 I had the same situation except that the car behind me flashing and beeping was an ambulance! I should have known better to NOT merge in the middle of traffic no matter how much the ambulance is flashing and beeping behind me...
The ambulance isn't even allowed to do that.
They are allowed to drive faster and go through intersections without giving way and pass red lights etc.
But they are not allowed to cause danger to other drivers.
That driver could lose his license if you had proof.
@ 13:39 Even the slightest movement to the left or right while driving nice & straight & much slower, you'd notice & woulden't continue driving.
The accident is Amy’s fault. The law states that when a light turns yellow, stop if you can safely do so. Amy had PLENTY of time to stop. There’s a reason why they say you should stop at a yellow light if you can, at that was a perfect example of why.
Stop if you can is clearly the call of the driver. If your front wheels cross the stop line before the light turns red you have a right to continue through and clear the intersection. It was the turning driver's fault.
@@adobo1976 Totally agree. Don't know what these people are doing.

.
i swear, I have never seen a GOOD or smart BMW driver
The bike at 5:40 should have signaled but also the car should not have tried to go around. I do not know the law there, but in the usa you are not allowed to do that. the bike is a legal vehicle in the lane of travel the car is in, so you have to follow behind till an appropriate passing area.
Gotta love the garbageman for trying to take out the fleeing criminals 😂
About that flashlight in the tire, I've had something happen to me like that years ago, I was driving on snow and ice covered streets when my right front tire went flat. I had a bolt the size of a small drinking glass stuck in the side of my tire. I still can't figure out how that happened!

The cyclist was obviously at fault, not looking before changing lane/crossing the road and no hand signal (that is, for place where it's required by law for cyclist to hand signal their turns)
Red lights be like, 12:40
For #13, Nick could've argued that the other driver flashed his brights to go and he followed.
Shit like this is why Cincinnati Ohio Metro and BCRTA and Croswell done warned us about flashing brights to let someone go or to wave them on
i dont go when someone waves me on,UNLESS i can see its clear, DONT trust the other driver, they are often inept.
That Mercedes driver that got clipped when a Toyota would not let them in looked a bit like an action movie the way the guy walked to the car
The Mercedes drivers lane ended he had lots or room to get in behind him and tried to force his way over. This happens alot 8n Canada with drivers that come from other countries.
That flashlight at the end reminds me of the time many years ago when a 3/4in wrench found its way into the tire of my old 95' T-Bird. All we saw when the wheel came off was a rounded piece of metal... but once the tire was removed, we found a wrench had gone straight through, and the other end was up against the center of the wheel, lol.
Happend when parking at a Post Office next to the curb.
will we get some kind of confirmation email if our video gets used?
Thank God that Tesla's were there to capture this, since the dash cams on a HOnda Civic aren't nearly as cool
Amy just dont want to take responsibility, thats typical
I have never seen a torch (flashlight) in a tyre; however, my Father's tire had an AA battery lodged in it.
#15 you forgot to say Honda bump
5:32 This is an example of why the infrastructure should be made to make cycling safer. Having bike paths separate from car roads makes cycling safe and convenient, while also freeing up space on the roads.
In England a Tesla owner decided it was cheaper to sell his car when he was locked out of it due to a fault with the remote locking system. this was in 2014.
8:09 That wasn't Nick's fault, the BMW did an illegal lane change in an intersection.
For Steve - clearly that cyclist was a moron - but just look at the amount of crashes here that happen with no cyclist around.
If anyone - the drivers are a menace on the road.
We need stronger penalties for driving uninsured, being underinsured and not covering the damages you cause, and for failing to self-report damages you cause to parked/unattended cars.
"Following from a safe distance" - yeah, that wasn't much more than one car length when you said it lol

Even when the light is green you still have some obligation, like yielding right of way to pedestrians and traffic allready inside the box.
But on the opposite end, the left turners did seems to have been at a stand still...and basically you are NOT allowed to acellerate on a yellow light.

#1 Amy was clearly not at fault as her front wheels had crossed the stop line before the light turned red. I hope she takes that to court.
MCL 257.612 states in part, " ...vehicular traffic facing the signal shall stop before entering the nearest crosswalk at the intersection or at a limit line when marked, but if the stop cannot be made in safety, a vehicle may be driven cautiously through the intersection."
The bottom line is, unless it is dangerous to stop, you must stop when the light turns yellow. Finally a rational person. I agree but it seems like most other commenters disagree with us. What are they seeing that we aren't? Are they blaming Amy just because she *could* have stopped?
@@johnm1008 I agree, she didn’t “run a red light”, however, slowing down would have been appropriate to do so. Still when approaching the lights, one should not go full speed. The Chevy should have yielded, but they are equally at fault. Yellow doesn’t mean to ram through the intersection.
She had a whole parking lot length to stop and not to mention the light just turned red before the impact. Also another vehicle turned in front of her. the Cruze had their vision blocked by the Equinox in front of it. Neither one of them should of proceeded into the intersection. I could of stopped my fully loaded work van in that gap. She's more at fault then the cruze.
@@jdub4626 It doesn't matter what she could have done. She didn't speed up & was completely in the intersection before the light changed. The Cruze driver failed to yield to Amy's right of way. A Tesla is one of, if not the most, technologically advanced vehicles on the road. It’s ABS and traction control system is absolutely capable of stopping on time for that light. What Amy did was race the light so she was probably staring at the signal light rather than the road. I say she is at fault.
Why are minor damage repair expenses so expensive in the US? Damn

Hello there!
Hey!
That last clip I have the same type of flashlight those are nice lights and bright as well.
I once had a specialized tool meant to remove motorcycle tires end up in our tire while heading to work! It was rather large and is an expensive tool so, while I was very unhappy, I'm sure the person who lost it in the road was even more unhappy!!
The flashlight still works? That question cant let me sleep
It still works. That’s my car.
In Illinois it is legal to enter the intersection on a yellow light. As soon as you cross the plane of the "stop line", the wide white line, you've entered the intersection. I couldn't see the line but it appeared that she was well into the intersection when the light turned red. Though it was a very stale yellow. But as a motorcyclist I always assume someone will turn into you even if you're in the right. I've saved myself many crashes that way.
