As someone who designed and installed kitchens and baths for a number of years, the biggest rule of thumb I would tell customers (and they often would not follow) is - Spend more on cabinets and save on countertops. You can always go back and replace countertops later, but trying to reuse counters and replace cabinets typically results in having to repair or replace the counters anyway. Same thing when looking to buy a house. Quality cabinets are worth way more than a fancy stone countertop or fancy appliances. Spend money on the things that are not easy to replace.
Really love the upgraded cabinets. I love a company that stands behind what they sell. It does sound like the directions to put them together could be a little better? You shouldn't have to guess where the brackets should be installed.
Andew your work sells itself and the cabinet company realized your honesty. Great to see Lily sent you the upgrade package and hope they also benefit.🙏
We think we want a single 13 gallon instead of two smaller cans (even though it's more capacity). We get an excellent deal on bulk 13 gallon bags at Costco and we fear by the time we are ready to empty two cans they will be smelling.
Adding more anchor points to that waste bin cabinet is a really nice touch and more important than some might think. I hope anyone else who might assemble these themselves takes note. Trash can get heavy and years of normal wear and tear will take a toll, not to mention all the accidental bumps and twists and whatnot.
Another great video Andrew. I hope Lily Ann are happy with your reviews and you get to keep the new cabinets. From what we have seen, they are a great company, from the online planning tool, to the finished product. Congratulations on getting beautiful cabinets. Does Tiffany like the new cabinets and approve??
Those are beautiful cabinets for the kitchen! Makes me want to redo my kitchen! Lol....maybe use some of the other cabinets in the utility room or closets.
I would say definitely worth the extra cost. It's much easier to replace appliances, countertops etc...than cabinets IMO. They are looking sharp Andrew, great job and so happy Lily Ann came through big for ya'll. Looking forward to more videos! It's supposed to be down to 54° here tonight, beautiful sleeping weather, yes!
I would not put screws up through the bottom. if you need to replace the slides it will be easier to pull that bottom plate out and fix it. you would never be able to remove that bottom plate if you screw it from the bottom.
Love the new cabinets, they are a lot better than the others. Will you have a small island? Can't wait to see your flooring for the kitchen. Now you have got me into the mood of painting my small kitchen and updating the hardware. I have retired so I can work at my pace. Thanks for all you do.
You should have considered a trash compactor instead of the trash cans you now have. We love our compactor. It will compact one week's worth of trash for us. It has a stainless steel front to it which would match your appliances. Your cabinets are beautiful. The upgrade is worth it. Tell us what you will do with the builder's grade cabinet you now have.
@@TKCL We try not to put food into the compactor. When we had animals, the food went to them. Now food goes into the compost bin. No, it doesn't stink at all. It gets taken out every Tuesday which is our trash day.
Looking good:) now you have cabinets for your garage or you can donate them to The habitat store:) I hope this brings others to order from this company:) tfs stay safe and warm:)
I love your videos. I have watched them from the first video of pouring concrete for the house to building the cabinets and I have loved every bit of it, however you said you use a gopro correct? I would like to see a video on how you setup your go pro. I have faught hard on trying to get my settings just right and I fail every time. I have tried hooking up a external monitor and everything and still can't figure it out. I know this is a not on topic question, but I thought I would ask, because your videos are so clear and vibrant and It makes your videos look so professional.
I know I am in the minority on this one, but I would suggest a trash compactor. My parents had/have one ever since I was little, and I got one for our house a few years ago. It's great to only take trash out once a week. When we bought and renovated our current house, I had the cabinet layout designer incorporate it into our plan, so it looks great in our current layout.
I really like the look of the upgraded cabinets. What are you doing with the other cabinets that you have? Are you going to use those as your outside kitchen and bar now that you have a full kitchen now?
Oh boy it's an amazing feeling, a proud accomplishment even on temporary power. It shows everything is safe and working correctly when the time comes to hookup to permanent power.
For some reason, the manic fan in the background cracked me up. So does this mean your loft office will have a full set of cabinets as well? Or will all your tools in the other building have luxury storage?
Would it be better to do the flooring in the kitchen, prior to installing the cabinets? That way if you ever decide to change base cabinets, the floor is the same. Just a thought.
YES!!!!! I have worked in far too many houses where flooring was installed after cabinets and then you are either stuck with the same layout down the road, or trying to piece together flooring scraps (which never looks good).
@@crookedrowfarm6100 that's right. I forgot he is installing a floating floor (I don't agree with using that product, but it ain't my house). In his case, you install cabinets first as you do not want the floating floor pinned down anywhere to prevent buckles and gaps.
Absolutely, this is a floating floor, I've seen major issues when people install cabinets on top. Joints cracking and not allowing for expansion and contracting. Plus in my experience, people tend to change flooring colors/choices before ever changing kitchen cabinets.
No! Never install cabinets on top of a floating floor. If Andrew was putting in ceramic tile, wood, or sheet vinyl then by all means cabinets on top of the flooring, but, he is installing a floating Luxury Vinyl Plank floor, which must not be pinned down by cabinets.
Good classic look. But why doors on the bottoms? Drawers are best. 150%more useful space and access to the back. I would never get doors them days. Just tops wit doors an under sink and garbage drawer.
Hey, hate to poke the bear, as I know you have been breathing and living the house work. Your doing great - but how’s your ice? You even have time to fish anymore
Lol no more fishing recently, weather has been all over the place. I put a couple of deer in the big freezer and had to move some vegetables to my ice maker 😳. I'm almost to the point I can move the vegetables back and install a new ice maker I bought.

I'm impressed how your knowledge on fixing and building is endless! Especially on the cabinets.
I'm just willing to learn, between Google and RUclips you can learn anything you want to. Thanks for watching!
Hi, Andrew! Your new cabinets are beautiful and sturdy. Thanks for deciding to share this video with all of us.
Yes they are, thank you for watching.
Really love the upgraded cabinets. I love a company that stands behind what they sell. It does sound like the directions to put them together could be a little better? You shouldn't have to guess where the brackets should be installed.
That was the only hiccup I seen, I did have to guess.
Wow really pretty color and I like the style. 👍💞
It is very rich looking
Beautiful cabinets. Looking really nice. Hope ya'll have a wonderful evening. Love you guys.
Thank you very much!
Andew your work sells itself and the cabinet company realized your honesty. Great to see Lily sent you the upgrade package and hope they also benefit.🙏
May they serve you well for many happy moments you'll be having there!
Thank you very much
Boy, very nice, can't wait to see everything completed. Lilly Ann has another customer coming their way! Take care bud.
Thank you for watching
Those are some very nice cabinets.
Yes they are
Beautiful cabinets. I love the color against the walls!
Thank you, we knew green would go well with wood.
Dang a fan in winter. I don’t know about that but I’m freezing my south Texas but of here.
70 here one day, 30 the next. Welcome to Florida!
The kitchen will look amazing when its done. 😀
Thank you
Nice cabinets! A few years ago I modified my existing cabinet and installed a 13 gallon slide out can, one of my favorite features of the kitchen.
We think we want a single 13 gallon instead of two smaller cans (even though it's more capacity). We get an excellent deal on bulk 13 gallon bags at Costco and we fear by the time we are ready to empty two cans they will be smelling.

Very nice looking cabinets Andrew. Cant wait for the trim and decorative items added to finish everything up 👍🏻😁
Looking forward to it myself.

She does like them, although I do think she wishes they were a little lighter in color. But there is no denying they look nicer.
Quality cabinets! They will last as long as you want them to.
I agree!
Very nice of Lily Ann!
Absolutely was! Very thankful!
When start installing always do the uppers frist so the bases aren't in the way.
That's very true for two people, not exactly the case when working alone. I'll show soon
They make jacks designed for 1 man to hang uppers after lowers are in, I’m assuming that’s what the man is planning on using
Nope, no sense and buying a tool like that for one time use. I am going to try to modify some things I currently have.
French cleats on the uppers makes it so quick to get them held up.

Those cabinets look pretty neat 👍🏽 just imagine all the crock pots on them going at one time cooking it enormous dinner or lunch 🤔

Yes she is, we think they match the green well.
Another great video Thank You!!

Nice cabinets , looking at a kitchen remodel in 2023 , the other remodel work should be finished by then and waiting to do the kitchen last .
Is that Tiffany creeping past your window at 13:04? :)

Nice job on showing off the newer cabinets man. I think it would have been worth the money for the upgrade by the looks
Absolutely is!
Well you have already made at least one sale for this company...I really like the design & will definitely be going with them for my upgrades :)
Great to hear, hope you enjoy them!

My thoughts exactly. A trash compactor is, in my opinion, the way to go.
@@TKCL You would love it.
Now with extra cabinets me and cash5150 can have kitchen in our room
Sure.... 🤦
Did Tiffany love the glass front? What are you going to do with the other cabinets?
Yes Tiffany desired a couple of glass cabinets to display some dishes.
I really like the look of the upgraded cabinets. What are you doing with the other cabinets that you have? Are you going to use those as your outside kitchen and bar now that you have a full kitchen now?
No I want something more waterproof for outside. A friend of mine reached out to me about the other cabinets.
You can never have enough cabinets.
We shall see... 😁
Did you ever find trash cans that fit your full height cabinet? Can you provide the link if so?
I didn't look anymore, the short cans have been working out great for the trash bags we buy in bulk.
I see that you are happily using electricity INSIDE the house. I know it is a temporary solution, but the convenience is nice.
Oh boy it's an amazing feeling, a proud accomplishment even on temporary power. It shows everything is safe and working correctly when the time comes to hookup to permanent power.

No, they are glued together and would be damaged if I tried to break them down. I was told to keep them, I have a friend who is going to take them.

We might make a movable one later, but no island for now.

What brand is this within lilyann? We are considering them but don't want to go with basic builder grade.
The Charleston Toffee
What are you doing with the old cabinets?
A friend reached out to me for them.

Once the trash bin cabinet is installed, and attached to the wall, you won't have to worry about the bins 'tipping over'..
That's correct, as long as the base plate is secured well to the cabinet.
Honey your cameras blerry
It's the bright light in the background on some of the shots.
