A rather unknown gem !! Great film, suspenseful, sincere acting, and totally wrth watching. Go for it !!
This is a gem of a movie!
It has it all, drama, suspense and lots of emotions
Oh how I wish they still made mo it’s like this today with substance and leave you feeling good, not dark and depressed
The youth today would have turned out allot different if THIS were the movies being produced today!
Thank you for uploading this great picture
Movies such as this can't make money in today's spiritually rotting world. Too few of us left to want them.
WOW in everyway, acting, casting, camera, music, storyline, EVERYTHING was excellent. Thank you for this film. Don't know how I missed it before. Thank you.
A magnificent story, a cast of noted and superb performers, well-delineated characters, and a timeless message of Divine providence.

It's not easy to explain why I think this movie is one of the best I have ever seen.
It may be that there is no over-inflated egos...no over-acting.
..no showmanship.
Not a big budget film...yet so,so powerful
Thanks for watching PizzaFLIX
@@PizzaFLIX Thanks for another great film experience. They rarely make films this good today. Thanks for keeping them alive for us and future generations to discover.
I was schooled C of E and gradually became an atheist. But maybe, just maybe...
This movie keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Thank you so much for these timeless movies 🎥😊
Everything is absolutely perfect and absorbing. Thanks for this pizza flics you are the most reliable for quality.
Such a great movie. Thank you for sharing this with us 💖
This is up there with the best of them, in my opinion.
Low budget, doesn't necessarily mean low quality.
Class film with class acting. Far superior to today's trash.
What beautiful English the Americans spoke in that era. People were so elegant then!
Sure, women were prettier and feminine, with often an exquisite voice. Now most US females look like sows and sound like a computer, when they speak. Even a non-American can notice that. American accent from the 30's to 60's was the most pleasant to hear, compared to the standard British accent of the London area; never mind those horrible English regional dialects and their awful accents.
it was before the forced "urbanization culture" which dumbed everyone down instantly.
@@billwilliamson9842 urbanization had nothing to go with it I’m 70. Born raised in urban Chicago. It’s cultural diversity becoming the norm . That messed up our language.
@@Meatcity-sf8fm 70 and you didn't pay attention as you lived, what a shame.
"dumbed everyone down instantly" so that must include you.
I cannot understand why I haven't seen the two young people in this great movie in anything else.
They were fantastic
The creds say they were "introduced" in this film, that's why.
@@DavidRice111 I meant after this film
@@walton1791 Still- neither of them had 'saleable' talent: she has only twp films to her credit, and he can't even be found (under that name) on google.
This movie had me in tears. Beautifully acted. 😢
They don't make movies like this anymore. The highlight statement in this film was when the Padre told the inmate"He listened, He always listens!"
problem I want to see the movie please
Amen and Amen.....
Amen God is always there for you
The men you see in these old movies are real men that a lady wants
That priest remembered everything the prisoner said to him . The priest sounded as if the guy was talking to her directly. 😌
I WON'T forget this riviting movie anytime soon
Very powerful story
Most viewers won't even bother to watch a movie if it doesn't include well-known actors, makes me want to watch the movie all the more! As pointed out in a comment below, it's a huge loss that we don't get to see these actors in more movies, although some of the support actors are familiar faces, appearing in numerous support roles,
He always listens. But He puts you through agonizing mental torture first.
I enjoyed watching this movie - a film very much of its time certainly in style. Several stories within the main film that came together in a fine and satifactory ending.
"Two years in the army pounding a typewriter." He was lucky. My older brother got drafted at the time of Vietnam. After training camp he told me he was asked what he could do. He said he knew how to type. They told him they could use that and he was sent to Korea where he typed reports for two years. He loved it. A lucky break.
Very inspiring. Thank you for posting.
The suspense and drama were great and it was quite noir!!
A surprisingly good film! TYSM!🙏💜🙋
God is listening
I've certainly been praying hard enough this year (2020)
Moron
@@jimclark6256 Who's a moron?
A very heart-felt and touching thriller.Thanks!
THANKS PIZZAFLIX! Thats a real tearjerker You do come up up with some good ones ! Dec. 2019
This is the best by far movie I have ever seen and compares to something I would write or have wrote, his girlfriend is truly what's making the movie stands out because I felt the same way when my first love and sons Daddy went to jail, he died in prison from colon cancer. I love this movie ❤️
God bless you Joyce 🙏
Excellent--unforgettable, really. Thank you.
A really good one! HE does listen!
This was so good! They had me going right up until the end. I didn't think the kid would be found innocent in.time. The electricity failed twice? So did my heart! Good story and great.acting! Thanks for posting this! 🌈🌈🌈
This is 3 years too late, but for anyone else who might read this, out of courtesy for others who might first glance through the comments before watching the movie it is always best not to give away the ending for movies of powerful suspense. You ruin it for those who have yet to watch the movie. If you have such a comment to make, precede it with words, "Spoiler Alert."
What a wonderful crime/true love story. Thanks for the upload (as I grab another tissue :) )
Great movie and they sure don't make them like this one anymore.
Thanks for the upload Pizza Flix
Ed
Wow!! What a movie!! Loved it!! Thanks for sharing!!
This is a gem.
The best movie I have seen in a long, long time
Hi Pizza Fix, just found this little treasure don't knowhow I missed it, thank you
This was an excellent film.
Great movie, thanks for sharing!
Much to learn ...
I just love to see old movies the artistic qualities is incredible and most of them is almost as old as I am. 😆
What a good movie. Acting was superb. Held u till the end. Got to your enter soul. Wholesome. They don't write them like they use to.
Lots of great character actors from this period.
THIS MOVIE PROVES TO BE THE BEST REASON TO ABOLISH THE DEATH PENALTY BECAUSE IF ONE INNOCENT PERSON GETS EXECUTED BY THE STATE THEN THE STATE IS GUILTY OF FIRST DEGREE MURDER!
Don't think you could get a movie more "noir" than this.....what gritty talk and characters!
That was intense. What a way, for things to have turned out.
OMGosh, based on true events. Had me holding my breath, hasn’t happened for a while. A must watch little film.
Well, it happens more often than you think. You just have to be looking for stories about it. Not all wrongful convictions get press, even ones that get overturned. Other times, a judge acknowledges problems, but insists that the previous ruling will hold. Our system has flaws and many men get life wrongfully. As for the death penalty, I don't know how common it is for a man to be wrongfully hanged. Sometimes a poor reputation and bad decision makes juries believe that a person who is not guilty really is.
Thank you PF, great film 🎥🎬👍🇬🇧
Love these old movies ❤️
I really enjoyed this! Thank you!
They sure left us hanging.. What a good Movie, Thanks PizzaFix,,, God Bless You!! There's another good story under my picture, It's a true story too...
I wonder if any younger people like films like this. I like them but I'm not younger person.
I don't know if this is young but im 39 and i love them 😷💙✌️🇺🇸🙏Be safe
This is an exercise in how much the human mind can stand before it comes unglued!
This is more "Melodrama" than "Film Noir". A good movie nevertheless.
MY theory is that its called noir because old timey films were black and White
A good story but not unusual and somewhat slow. There is a religious message and it's clear: God helps the innocent and the honest. Thanks for the upload!
All those who would be found guilty,..but were innocent, God will make it up to them in next life if not this. Great film . 🇬🇧
NOW THIS IS WHAT YA CALL A MOVIE ! WOW ! Thanx Pizza !
thanks for this film. :)
Good drama acting and good music score.
Loved the chair testing scene!
Thank you, this was great
Have to admit, right at first I felt it was just going to be another sappy film. In fact I quit watching the movie. A few days later I came across it again and decide to give it "one" more try. Glad I did, the ending was worth the slowest of the beginning...
And a new method of keyboarding is born---typing with handcuffs on. Amazing!!
Excellant! I was having anxiety watching this movie. I have to buy it on Amazon. All I can say is WOW!
Excellent in every way.
On the night of a man's execution (initially botched and delayed), the real murderer kills someone near the prison, gets captured and is taken to the warden's office where he confesses - saving the condemned man's life.?. Good acting and production and all... but the story is ridiculous.
Good movie, thanks for allowing me to see it. (a little bit of I Want to Live starring Susan Hayward). Very entertaining.
Hayward 's film is a standout
Really good movie 🎬🎥🎬👏🏾🙋🏽
Dig it ... THEY CAN'T MAKE 'EM LIKE THESE ANYMORE.
"God IS listening. God always listens." Thanks for uploading this extremely poignant picture.
That is the problem. If it exists, it just listens and never does anything.
@@nedludd7622 You have to believe. Your word, "if," expresses doubt. "For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall NOT DOUBT in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he says shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he says.
Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses (Mark 11:23-26, KJV)."
@@sheristewart3940 The Bible is mythological nonsense.
He Always Listen Amen Amen!!!! Fantastic Indeed!!!!
I can't understand why so many people deride the poverty row crews and casts. OK, besides Charles Arnt, the rest of the cast in this one were not that well known. But they were excellent actors, giving super performances in this movie. Some of the best, most original movies made in Hollywood are 1930s B movies. By the time the 1940s rolled around, so many cliches and formula plots (and sloppy acting) had already set in.
Technically, this isn't a film noir, because it hasn't got the required noir ending of complete, devastating hopelessness, but that's a small point.
"just in time. They found out just in time. Till then his time was running low"
Roller coaster. Very emotional film
An age when movies did not dumb down to viewers. It is a myth that the condemned dine heartily the night before the execution; in fact some weeks before their appointment with death they cease eating.
Wow!
WISH, MY SINCERE PRAYERS TOO GET 'ANSWERED '.
VERY GOOD FILM !
Pizzaflix...this is a great find....don't know. How you do it but thankyou!
Thanks for watching PizzaFLIX. May the Sauce be with you!
Does anyone know if the real story was ever published ?
johan day: I've been trying to find that out myself. Unfortunately the only thing I've come across is, 'This film is based on a similar true case of an innocent boy framed for murder'. That's no help is it, sorry. I hope that someone can discover some more information about it. God bless you.
"some of us always have to sit in the bleachers..." aint it the truth
I don't think I would have ended the film with a shot of the priest, with all the innocent people who've been fried through the years.
Hollywood can't make a movie like this anymore. Too bad...
Huge cells..quite luxurious
Percy Helton steals the movie. First rate. Needs a remake with Leo Gorcey as the boy.
Leo Gorcey died in 1969
Geez , My grand-dad used to talk about the Bowery Boys and Gorcey.
Iʻm loving this!
An interesting premise for a movie. A man waiting his execution and thinking about meeting his maker. I won't share the ending because it's a twist in the story. Although there were times when I was wondering when they were ever going to actually execute the man. That part dragged a little. But it's a good film noir and interesting story line.
When the 3 cops were wrestling with Ferrucco in the restaurant, couldn't one of them punch him a couple of times? Really? They just kept on struggling for the longest.
What can they possibly do? They had to stick to the script...
In real fight no one lasts as long as in movie scripts, punching or not.
One fist hit to your face, and you are out. But Hollywood is meant to be entertaining, not realistic.
Reality: No one believes the one person who "knows". Status quo wins out every time.
That "Blackie" character in the cafe @36:30, would'a made a great Dillinger~ looks just like him!
You right ! A dead ringer...
Good Movie! If I was Innocent id be hoping a Tube burns out in the Electric Chair.Yes, this was very good!!
A tube if you had time traveled. I guess the most you could hope for is computer glitches. But that was a joke guess I'll shut up and watch the movie.
Icy cold performance as the killer by Lee Frederick. Looked a cross between Fred MacMurray and Dick Powell.
Interesting story... but in true Hollywood fashion- odd.... the executioner would *not* have his hand on the switch before everything is connected, which he would check... to do so would put the prison guards at risk for electrocution should he slip..... typical Hollywood.
What a great movie!!!
Interesting story, scene set-ups, acting, and editing. Sh#t. The main character couldn't look more like my dad did at that age if my dad played the character himself; it wasn't until the end of the movie that I caught that the character's name was "Bill"--same as my father. Kinda freaky. Interesting movie, though!
Sometimes prayers do get answered!
Nicely done.
Love a Happy ending.
This movie is surreal but is similar to The Green Mile starring Tom Hanks which also is a gripping film. Hollywood seems to take ideas from older movies, that's how I see it anyway.
Thank you.
Wow.
Thanks for watching PizzaFLIX
if you name your son "parrot", you gotta figure he's not going to be an exemplary citizen... just sayin'
