As a 3d artist myself I can explain about the trees scale. If they will scale the trees correctly but leave the same quantity of tree models there will be a lot of empty space between the trees. And if they will multiply the quantity of the trees with the correct scale it will make the polygon count of the specific map way way higher and there will be problems with the productivity of the game. The only good decision from my pov is to make the tree model way simpler and then scale the size and multiply the quantity.
The Apache is a very cool heli to fly. I ran Apache Havoc and EECH back in the day, but I remember tactics to be very different. I used to fly Falcon 4 and James sims around the time, and i had to "unlearn" fighter tactics and approach the battlefield more like a army sniper in an Apache. Stay low and slow and mask behind terrain, scan, bob up and take a few shots, then hide and relocate. Only ingress and egress were done fast (get into trouble fast, but also getting out of it faster) and always stay low (flying NOE, or Nap Of the Earth) to avoid detection. I really love what DCS has done to the chopper though, far better than what it used to be!
Hey LS! US GWOT guy here. We called the forward operating bases FOBs, but pronounced it like we would a key fob (like a car key fob) I don’t know of anyone that called it an F.O.B. Is that a Canadien thing?
Even announcement systems on bases would say “attention of the fob, attention on the fob” To be clear I’m not ragging on LS just found this interesting
Gotta be honest I didn’t actually see very much happening. Basically it looked like you were shooting the ground I just didn’t see any targets except for a few instances like when you engaged the technical…which was pretty cool lol
On the one hand, night missions can make it harder to follow what's going on, and the green of the NOD view is a bit monotonous at times. On the other hand, the sudden flashes in the distance marking the demise of some vehicle or other unit, cut with first person views in the darkness on the ground, tracers streaming in and out, shells rocking the camera, and a battery of guns thumping away at unseen targets is so atmospheric and cinematic that I think I can tolerate a bit of murky situational understanding and bright green tint 🙂

LS you are not letting us see your scanners when you were talking about seeing infantry and stuff. I want to see what you see dude!
17:58 - "In other news, two hitchhikers were strafed this evening after a passing car declined to give them a ride. Film at eleven."
😁
This looked exactly like combat at night.
Can’t tell who is who; and glowing things all over the sky.

Went through several nights like that. No sleep and still go to duty in the morning.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for incorporating so much of both NV and what it looks like in the dark.
You're not kidding about the trees. Can really tell on the night vision.
Hey Longshot, can we see more 2 Morans with GS?

LS is saying it the formal way. "FOB" is military slang and the short version.
Even announcement systems on bases would say “attention of the fob, attention on the fob”

@@Dusther210I didn’t think LS was Canadian? I thought he was Israeli?
I noticed he likes the Israeli stuff. He could be both, an Israeli in CA 🤷🏻♂️
I'm not seeing what you're seeing. Most of that was like looking out the window.

It's not "that" thing it's ''this" thing...
Could you fly the ka-52 helicopter and preferably hit the targets with gun runs?

For a fat guy you're a good pilot. Great videos, you are a lot of fun to watch.
Why are you calling LS a "Fat guy"? That's not cool at all. Do you know him personally?
Fat?

LS, That person is trying to say you are overweight is my guess . Very rude and disrespectful IMO.
