What I find amazing and admirable that Dr. Unwin, after years of practising "traditional" medecine, he was open minded, curious, and caring enough to look at LCHF as a potential to heal his patients. A fan from Belgium.

NHS should fund your work Dr Unwin. I send high risk patients for various surgery from my preop clinic back to their GP for blood pressure and sugar control. I have had a letter back saying what else you want me to do. I should say 'What Dr Unwin did'. x NHS anaesthetist.
Staggering potential saving to the NHS
I took this up with my MP years ago. We could be saving taxes but more importantly improving health for the population and (I am sure) saving lives too.
I think it could save the health of most of the civilized world. People eating aboriginal /ancient diets may be the few who don't need to eat like this. Plus those few really annoying people who seem to thrive on anything they eat.

I am on the Leto diet , I tried it out as I was suffering with inflammation ( hip pain ) , it didn’t cure the problem , however I lost 35 lbs in 4 months . I’m a 5’ 7 “ male , my weight was 13 stone , I’m now 10-7 , the weight I was at 21 , at 65 years old there was no extra exercise, I’m now never hungry , and feel so much better, carbs converted to glucose in your body are poison . I would recommend everyone try it , if just for the weight loss .

I was obese my whole life and now age 60 have lost over 6 stone on keto. When will the government change the food pyramid so carbs are not advised as the largest source of food?

David, your results are compelling. Why do you think so few other practices are following your lead? Is there still resistance in NHS to promote your methods?
David always emphasises the important role of his wife (psychologist) in helping establish the self-care and support community now mostly fuelled by patient success. This integrated success story (plus a large modicum of passion) is not easy to replicate in a “show me your symptoms and I’ll prescribe a drug” world which predominates in public health.
They are scared
The NHS doesn't want to change, it sucks up a huuuuuge amount of public money, it employs a million people and the drug companies have their fingerprints all over it. If the public were healthier it would threaten their funding model, it's as corrupt as any other large institution (the institution, not the people, many of whom have honest and sincere motivations).
Don't leave out big agriculture .
They would have to stick their neck out and go against a huge tide of Nutrition Dogma. Everyone should the film Fat Fiction
Thank you, fabulous information. This needs to be looked at by everyone, especially those giving a healthy diet advice. I am one of those not losing weight but my blood sugar in the morning is 88 and ketones 1.7. So calories matter on ketogenic diet? Thank you
Maybe add some fasting. I use 16/8 protocol. Just a thought

The Food Pyramid needs to be changed ASAP - turn it 180 degrees. Great work Dr Unwin, but as a layperson it is so sad that the British Medical Association does not act quickly enough and are still training doctors incorrectly. As you said in one of your talks - you are saving the NHS money because of no need for medication, but the surgery does not get that extra funding.
We need a recount on men and women
Add intermittent fasting and the weight does come off even us hard to lose weight folks... bone broth helps with that also
Only 47% of the T2D patients achieved remission? With all due respect, it is because you encourage the ingestion of vegetables. Please look seriously into the carnivore diet and get to 100% success. Many of us do very poorly because of the lectins, oxalates, goitrogens, and the deadly fiber and other NATURAL pesticides and toxins that vegetables bring. Also, please look into cholesterol: more is better, especially as you get older (yes, even the dreaded, “bad” LDL). No denigrating replies, please, 🙂until you have researched very, very seriously.

That's a bold claim. Dr Unwin has clinical studies to prove his 47%. Can you share links to the studies behind your 100% claim?
I think Dr Urwin diet is all about controlling blood sugar and any diet is always a mix of macronutrients. The LCHF is as its says on the tin.
Low carb 20% ish all with chosen for their low blood sugar response, Cauliflower, Broccoli, Cabbage, Courgette, Peas etc
25% good quality protein
50%+ Good fats Eggs, Meat, Full Fat Dairy, Avocado, Olive Oil.
Sucess is about blood sugar control.
Hence the HbA1C blood test which measures the amount of glycation in the red blood cells over 90 days
I love the high fat diet, its simple allows me to fast, improves my energy and lots more
I don't understand why you haven't provided any studies behind your 100% claim.
What do you think about intermittent fasting?
