#PSVR #PSVR2 - Игры
A patch dropped today that boosted the graphics a bit and added some hints during loading screens. Hopefully the updates keep coming, it's already in much better shape than it was at launch...
Another patch dropped today. Any new impressions from you? Ive been waiting for things to be fixed to go for this one.
Dead Space should get a VR version that’s fully immersive
If PSVR2 is getting PS3 games in VR I really really hope this means we can have the Killzone and Resistance games..
Since we can get GT7 and the RE games, we can definitely have those
BRO, resistance fall of man, 2, and 3 vr. Im throwing all my money in it. Idc what the reviews will say. I love the resistance franchise
I literally was thinking the same thing about the 2 same games you mentioned.
Bulletstorm was also released for other systems, including PC. If I had to guess, I'd say this was based off the PC version.
The PS3's system architecture was completely unique, which would make porting a game built for that system sort of a nightmare. They'd basically have to either emulate the PS3 (which would eat up a ton of system resources), or rebuild the game from scratch.
I really hope we get ports of Killzone, Resistance, and other PS3 exclusives, but it'd be a difficult task. I think the only way we'd get them in VR is if they're hybrid.
I had 3D TV and Killzone 3 and Resistance 3 were 🔥🔥🔥. As was Motorstorm IPs.
I remember playing Killzone 3 for 12 to 13 hours and going to work next day (I worked on Technology department). My manager, your eyes look sore Lee? Just testing technology out 😄
Am confident we'll get they above has Remasters with full PS VR2 support ✌️
I absolutely loved Bulletstorm OG when it came out. It was intense, visceral non-stop action and you actually had to farm those kills for extra points. It was immensely fun to lasso an enemy, kick him in the air and then shoot him in the balls or kick him onto spikes.
This VR version though feels like one of those mobile game knock-offs. A shame. Glad i didn't pre-order, had a feeling
Actually it is almost the same as the og with slightly better resolution and vr possibilities, so if u l9ved og u will love this one as well
Thats a shame… thanks for the review and honesty Brian!
The exact thing I've feared happened
I'd say the ultimate PS3 VR port would be Battlefield Bad Company 2.
Damn this was meant to be a reply to another comment.
Never going to happen sadly
@@TheWinterbringer never say never, it could actually happen.
@orion7741 would be nice, but EA have shown next to no interest in VR for a long time now.
Thank God I bought this on Quest I can return it over there
Quest refunds are insane, they take like 2 seconds and they refund them on your credit/debit card, not like other companies that just give you store credit.
You can do that with Quest????
I regret ps5 vr2 😢
You’ve saved me countless money and time - I applaud you 😇
CAPCOM MY GODS SAVE US!
I hope resident evil 6 PSVR2
Pray to the Capcom Gods to bring Monster Hunter Wilds to VR
@@Luis-rp2lm but still, capcom did a good job with there port's , especialy compared to Bulletstorm
DRM and no mods for you!
This is the first PSVR2 game I felt like I wasted my money. I will never pre-order another PSVR2 game again without a review or at least something to base my purchase on.
This game really makes me want a gears game in vr.
Great review Bryan! I love how you lay out the details of to good and the bad as well as price details and control options.
I liked OG. If I remember right, story was written by Rick Remender. It sure feels like it.
I found it pretty funny. Especially the story of how the Stygian colony fell.
Gameplay was pretty fun too.
Thanks for the heads up
I don't understand what's going on with VR particularly on the PSVR2.
The PSVR1 catalog was remarkable. But for the PSVF2, many of the most ubiquitous cross-platform VR games aren't available, the amazing first-party PSVR1 games remain missing, & we don't even have things like RUclips or Netflix or virtually any VR-lifestyle applications.
I was blown away by the PSVR1 support by Playstation, & the PSVR2 support seems counter-productive from the PSVR1 experience. What the heck has gone so wrong for the PSVR2? I love it, but I don't get it, especially when bad ports like this keep coming out for nearly the price of a full title that *isn't* 13 years old.
Look back at the PSVR1 catalog and then see how many of those games were available in the first 11 months. Most of PSVR1's great games (and the great games for ANY console) usually arrive a few years in. Especially these days...
@@WithoutParole I hear you, albeit I'd add VR has come a long way since & most of the most ubiquitous titles cross multiple platforms quickly (notably including both inside-out and outside-in VR platforms as the PSVR1 & 2 are different that way). The near-total lack of non-game experiences & even RUclips is disappointing by comparison to-date if nothing else (even Gran Turismo 7 still uses a custom UI made for an offline-only GT Sport with crucial missing data), but again I still love the PSVR2 & use it for hours every week, just *surprised* the way it's gone because of PSVR1 rather than in spite of it.
Thankful for what y'all do, always. 💯
Tell me how you really feel Bryan! Great review. All of your opinions backed up with examples why.
Hot damn. Maybe a couple patches could make it tolerable.. hopefully theyll fix the bugs, resolution & frame rate.. come on devs, we've been having this conversation nearly a year now.. foveated rendering, 90htz native, make it happen.
Plus if they remove the repetitive tutorial stuff, and maybe make the leash less OP somehow.. i mean, thats a lof of work.. hate to see any game fail so badly to reach its potential.. i was kinda hyped for this.. guess its another one to stick on the "wait till its finished" pile.
Wow the glitches with enemies in walls were in the original ps3 game lol
Really is a shame to hear this about one of my favorite FPS games from the PS3 era. Your reviews are always spot on. I regretfully pre ordered this as I was so stoked when it got announced. Either way, I'm excited to run through it and enjoy it for what it is. Hopefully a lot of the issues will be addressed in future patches. I really hope the trend of old PS3 games getting ported to VR continues. There are so many other games I'd love to experience in VR.
Please stop pre-ordering :(
It does everyone no favours, these bad games rely on it
You might still enjoy it, sounds like it's the same game. Problem seems to be that people didn't expect a ps3 game.
@@johnnyjosefsen7644yeah a lot of ps3 games haven’t aged all that well and look way more rough than ppl usually expect. Especially when u see them up close in VR.
@johnnyjosefsen7644 i personally still play PS3 games and so many of them have aged very well and would make great VR games. not the case with bulletstorm, for me at least
@@delgat000Bulletstorm still plays great. I suspect the issue is more the vr conversion. You cant alwaya just slap on same vr shooting to a game and it all work well. Some game design converts over well some doesn't.
I love those psvr 2 reviews
The enemies in the original would try to get out of the way of sniper rounds also.
A patch just came out a few hours ago. So they are working on it. I just played a couple of hours and it was great. Not perfect, but good.
No way is this game better in flat. I didn’t like it then, but I like it now!
The trailer looked ABSOLUTELY AMAZING and I was finally excited to try a PSVR2 game that didn't devastingly disappoint! Then, before I picked up my phone to check reviews, I scrolled down to see the Star Ratings, and 44% gave 1 Star... Now here I am watching gameplay that looks nothing like the amazing "in game graphics". It's like being a kid all over again watching those saturday morning commercials of insane Nerf guns or R/C Cars with explosions etc! Only to to open a box full of sadness and betrayal all over again... So far, PSVR2 and their developers get a 1 Star. Please bring back the PSVR crew that worked from 2017- early 2020. Or if it is the same crew, give them a redbull or replace them...
Don't listen to critics...find out for yourself. It's just not ready yet..the game is fun
I know this is not Sony but it is a case of an old game given the VR treatment, which we have been screaming for since the PSVR 1 days.
Why Sony hasn’t put some small third party studio to convert PS3 games (heck- even PS2 games) to VR is beyond me. Games like Killzone 3 already had stereo 3D and Move support meaning that part of the work was already done.
So it is much more complicated then that especially with engines that where made only for that studio working on only a ps3 version as was the case with killzone (then engine used for 2 in particular but alsi 3 also had hige latency issues which just wouldnt work in vr). It is highly likely that there is limited to no knowledge in how the engine worked anymore with the companies more or less all mahor sony devs use there own bespoke engine. Games made with unreal etc are likely easier but even bulletstorm had to be rebuilt in ue4 for this vr release vs 3.5ish that the og used. Basically it hasnt happened as for most engines it wouldnt be a small task and it is with software that little kbowledge would be left in the company regarding. It likely would be quicker and easier to rebuild many of these games from scratch. Now if they have a pc version of there games that was just never released maybe that would be different but even if that did exist at some point I doubt it would still be around. The source code for the og killzone for example was thought lost until someone found it on a hard drive in a shoe box. Originally the ps3 rerelease of kzq was going to be done using emulation but it got delayed and a native port once the source code was found.
@@Gabi-bv9ux Well, yes. I never said it would be plug and play. It would require a port, as the many remasters and “Classics” have been done.
And I used K3 as an example EXACTLY because the developer still exists and is part of Sony. Heck- many of the people behind Killzone Mercenary were part of the VR teams within Sony.
Bulletstorm was an absolute blast when it came out - it was great dumb action packed fun - clearly this was ported like absolutel shit and the difficulty should have been upped a notch -it also seems like the movement is slower or something
Wow, I am so glad I watched this review !!!!!!!!!!!!
That's a shame, thought this would be the one game that gets me back into my PSVR2, might just sell the thing at this rate.
I feel if they fixed the following in a patch it would be fine:
- fix menus
- reduce brightness in cutscenes
- fix AI
- reduce bullet sponge
- reduce glitches
- increase resolution and frame rate
- improve hit detection
So...fix everything? Lol
Hope they update new patch, so i can enjoy intense action that make me feel 10 yrs ago.
and add back lighting/shadows and post process effects.
That’s unfortunate. I remember when this came out. The only reason my friends and I were talking about it was because it came with a demo of Gears 3 or something to that mayter
I get resources are probably super limited with VR titles but these VR devs need to get some fkn brains
We should of got time splitters 2 vr instead of this
Sadly we saw this coming a mile away
I started on hard mode. its cool so far, but I would recommend Star Wars over this
Out of all the badass 360 games we could have been remade for psvr2 why the hell did we get Bulletstorm lol. I thought that when I first seen the trailer.
because the developer wanted to do that one. The cult following to this IP is huge too.
I preordered this, seen this review and luckily managed to get a refund before playing it! 😅 Thank you
I wished so much they did it right, and inspired more IP holders to revive their PS3 game to VR.
Another missed opportunity 😢. I pray Aces of Thunder pulls through for us. By far my most anticipated.
More than Behemoth and Wanderer?
The one great thing about this game on flatscreen was the Duke Nukem DLC. Can't believe it's not in the VR Version.
Sorry devs, but I'm all out of gum.
Yeah..the saddest part about duke nukem series was that the best modern duke nukem game wasn't even his....he really breathed life into this dull and boring game...
Why won't Sony hire Dr Beef to make it's classic ports
Sony got nothing to do with this game.
@@TheAmigaGuru that has nothing to do with what I said. I want Sony to hire Dr Beef for their ports.
still not relative to this port @@deadringer28
I tried to post here 3x and my youtube app doesn’t want to cooperate.
The short of it is that Synapse did everything mechanically most people wanted out of this game, but this game was supposed to be a longer more action packed version of Synapse with a Gears of War vibe. Doesn’t sound like that’s what it turned out to be.
Back when it was released it was supposed to be the PlayStation alternative to Gears of War after Microsoft acquired the IP from Epic and killed the PS3 port of the GOW games. As it turned out most PlayStation gamers didn’t care about Gears anymore back then.
On top of everything pretty sure this is lightly modified Quest port of the game.
Agree with this review it seems like it was very poorly executed with some ps1/ps2 era graphics. Is re4 vr a 10/10 for you? Are you still doing a review for that one?
I had insanely high hopes for this 💔
After Green Hell and Bulletstorm, Incuvo is now on my blacklist.
I had a lot of fun with this game back in the day. Played it on 360 then again in 3D on my Asus ROG laptop. Best part of the whole game though was when someone called someone else “dick tits.”
I was looking forward to this and definitely feel like they could’ve done a lot better. The graphics looked terrible to me. This review is showing it looks about 5x better than what I was seeing. The cutscenes were super washed out to the point they looked all white and brown to me. Then the game crashed on me in the middle of a fight and I was like “saved by the bell!” And went and played No Man’s Sky.
People Can Fly studios really love this IP for some reason
Woot woot
I’m not having too bad a time with it tbh, I’ve got as far as the rolling wheel section and while I understand what you’re saying about it it feeling like it’s just an MP4 playing in the background, I didn’t find it as much of a problem as you, I am a very forgiving gamer though
I also haven’t experienced the issues with the menu system you have, though I will agree it would be nice not to be told to kick or pull things all the way through
While I don’t think they’re done particularly well, I like the fact that they added the stereoscopic view to the cut scenes, reminds me of the old 3D movies where you donned a pair of red and blue lense glasses, the effect wasn’t great but it was new, Vertigo 2 does the same with similar results imo, and at least it’s not a completely flat cut scene, though that has never bothered me with games tbh
I’m not saying it’s a great game btw, and as I’m not far into it I could find it gets old quickly, my main gripe is with the whip, it needs better tracking imo, Synapse did a fantastic job of making this work
I do think it’s overpriced, and having played the original, I do think it’s lacking
It’s a shame that games aren’t delivering on the promises, and I do fear for the future of VR with this trend, the negative press about games gets far more attention than good press
Did they strip out the high score rush mode? I forget its name, it was a series of pre-set segments of stages with hordes of enemies and gimmicks to try and rush for points and was part of what kept me coming back to the game when it came out. I was #1 on the PC leaderboard for quite awhile until the cheaters came in and were posting max integer scores on everything, devs refused to remove the obvious cheater scores, kinda killed the whole idea of online leaderboards for me. BUT, the mode was still really fun.
Also, it was really difficult to max all the upgrades on the original release, you COULD do it in one run but you had to be super optimal in your scoring and it was unlikely you'd get them done until right near the end iirc. They may have rebalanced the points later or in the re-release, I never played it so I dunno.
This version looks utterly awful too, the PS3 version looked terrible next to the PC version maxed out too so the fact that it makes the PS3 version look like it's on Ultra NIghtmare settings compared to PSVR2's below minimum is pretty impressive.
From the initial reveal it looked like a shameless cash grav the original is one of my fav fps because the combat is so good you can tell they really messed up when I don't think you even mentioned using the kick or sliding in combat which where hug parts of the flow of combat
Just wondering, have you went back into this game since the upgrades and what was your thoughts?
Yessir we actually discussed that on Wednesday's show and we all agree it looks like a proper PSVR2 game now. Everything looks so much better. The game itself is pretty much the same though, so with an updated review the final score would only be mildly better
@@WithoutParole thanks man for responding so fast . I appreciate that I have to go back and look at Wednesday show. Thanks again.
Is this compatible with PS VR1?
I really hope this game’s reception doesn’t scare off other devs from porting older games to VR. Looking at you Bioshock
We Need new games, not porting of PS3 Gen
Disappointment after Disappointment
Any chance for a RE review now that it has foveated rendering?
Pretty unlikely. It took Galaxy Kart to improve the resolution, up the framerate to 90hz, include wheel support, and add about 10x the amount of content to get a re-review. Bulletstorm VR sucks for SOOOOOO many reasons beyond its resolution that I won't be spending another 30 hours of my life reviewing it again unless it gets the Galaxy Kart treatment from the developers. That said there ARE a lot of games that've been dramatically improved since launch that I should be looking at! :D
cant say im surprised about this one honestly
Thanks for saving me the $$$ Bryan. Is there any chance this game will come back like Vertigo 2 did? I was so pissed when I first played V2 but now its in my top 5 since they've pumped out like 5 updates in a week and now its GOLD!
it is already better, day 1 one patch solved several issues. more patches coming.
I had high hopes.Borderlands on psvr1 was great.
Shame how this one turned out.
I think the fun is supposed to come from the creative kill scoring system, but when the game doesn't do anything to require it, that really diminishes the experience. It's a well-known phenomenon in games where players will do the safest/easiest/most effective thing they can to win, even if it makes the game less fun. If they'd included leaderboards and/or a score attack mode, that would at least encourage players to engage with the fun part of the game.
As for that wheel part where it looks like a poorly compressed mpeg, I'd guess the developers did the old-school VR trick of only rendering far away stuff once and duplicating it for both eyes, making it look flat. It was super common on PSVR 1. The low resolution would give that mpeg look. Who knows though, maybe they did just put a crappy video file in there 🤣
"Take them out one by one at your leashure" ;-)
Can you play as Duke Nukem?
Another Dead Beat release ..... thanks for the heads up .. Saving my Money for a game that deserves it .
I expected lazy port, but not expected low resolution from such old game. Still it's fun for me, but AI and some parts of gameplay are outdated. It's not enough just move old game to VR.
Shame...that's me back to Ancient Dungeon, and the rest of the huge backlog!
Psvr2 is bout making me happy lol
I got the re-release for free on PS+ and got bored after an hour or so. This sounds even worse. Duke Nuke 'em vibes confirmed!
I have loved this game from day 1. Beat it on ps3, ps4, and Switch. I feel like i have the exact opposite take on every aspect of the game. Love the story, love Grey's character, feel the personality from him, the dude with him and the woman...and they did a good job on making the bad guy a piece of sh1t. Always thought the game was phenomenal...actually in my top 20 or 30 favorite games just because of how much pure fun it is. I was hoping vr was gonna be good, and I'm actually thinking it still might considering i disagree with literally every statement you made about it as a game at all. Also, 5 hours? Ive beat game at least 5 times and probably never under 10-12 hours. Idk...seems weird we're so far apart on this game that i always found pure fun. On ps4 and i think Switch you can even choose to play as Duke Nukem instead of Grey...the real original Duke voice actor and all.
I'm always thrilled to find out that other people enjoyed something more than I did. I can only speak for my experience (which don't forget was just for this VR version, having never played the original) and my experience was that the entire campaign was underwhelming, boring, and had half-baked VR interactions. Hopefully you'll disagree with me on ALL this and will enjoy Bulletstorm yet again (if you decide to pick it up!) :D
What a bummer. I was really looking forward to a single player FPS that didn't require me to be online to play with others. Thank you for saving me from wasting my money on this junk game. Much appreciated!
wish it had co-op!
Seems like 50% at the very least of new releases are trash. WTF.
Ooph. This is rough.
I really like and have fun with it. The res and the bugs are my only Problems with the game. But it does not look that bad in terms of res! No „no man sky“ res before the holy patch bring us the sharpness and one of the most WTF moments in VR history
The flat screen game is extremely easy even on hard
Im not sure why this game has gotten all these re-releases. This game was mediocre and boring when it first game out and its no surprise the VR version isnt any better.
It was probably relatively cheap to license. Couldn't agree more though, this was far from one of the best games out of the early 2010's.
Did you even play it when it came out? It was so much fun and there’s a ton of giant set pieces like fucking Godzilla wrecking the place. The humor also worked really well
😂@@AntLeonardi01
@@AntLeonardi01 I still have my copy on PS3 lol
@AntLeo nardi01 hmm to both of those claims :/
Yeah I played it at the time.
Wow why did they even make this one, there's so many great games but these awful games seem to take centre stage when the non-cable brigade get going lol 😂
PS4 version has DLC Duke Nukem
Thank you for saving me $40
This was the one vr game i almost pre-ordered glad i didn't
If it wasn’t for your channel I would have bought this, thanks I’ll wait. I feel like I say this a lot on your channel 😂 Atleast walkabout has a new course coming!
Wish they would stop porting this game and make a Sequel
$40?!
Seriously what a joke
Wow! Is it really that bad?
no.
@@TheAmigaGuru yeah I agree it doesn’t look that that bad lol. It’s just mindless gore and shooting which sounds fun lol.
Should be called PS2 VR... ZAM!
So... Desert Warfare > Bulletstorm?
This games looks amazing , i own a quest 2 and looks terrible, thinking about puracheng on PC yo meta quest link because damn look terrible on quest
Yeah, this game sucked back in the day. This is the vr problem. For every good game, you get 10 bagf ones. So hoping that Metro vr is that rare good one. But i DON'T have high hopes.
Was anyone surprised? This looked like shit since they first dropped the first trailer. Lol
Soooo.. wait for a giveaway for ca day you have nothing to play huh?? Got it!! lol!! Thanks for review man!!
First. Damn sucks to see more games releasing in rough shape.
I knew it wasn't gonna be great, but did not expect it to be this bad. Yikes. And the Quest version is apparently even worse.
I’m someone that played the 2011 game at least twice and was really looking forward to this, but after a couple hours in, I agree with all of this.
They’ve also made the blood effects barely noticeable when the OG game simply SHOWERED with blood… No character shadows either, when the original game absolutely had them… They hobbled the stuff that made this game so fun in the first place.
it’s SO strange that they fucked this up. I’m still planning to play all the way through, but only to see a few certain things and squeeze as much out of what I paid as possible.
All that said, I think it’ll be worth a steep sale price for someone who remains curious or nostalgic. If you think of it as a crappy mod it’s more doable. But… damn. Now I’m guessing that the special edition of this game is probably fully playable on PCVR using the UE VR INJECTOR mod.
I bet that’s the fun that this should have been. I’ll keep an eye open - maybe Wes can play that version on PCVR and report back to us.
Now I’m just embarrassed by INCUVO.
Vr gamers should be happy with this somehow failed attempt.
Hoping other devs will try to port there older games to VR too.

I still have my OG PS3 Bulletstorm on the shelf and was looking forward to this one. What a disappointment!
The heads just dissappearing takes this from a maybe to a no thanks for me.
Where is all the gore?
I thought this game was perfect for VR
Every game I want, releases poorly. I just don’t get it. Thanks for the review Bryan, as usual :)
If you're including Vertigo 2, it's getting patches. One was a performance fix. The developer is listening.
I was a big fan of the original game so when I heard it was coming out on psvr2 I was looking forward to it. Its awful lol I have only played it for a short while, but I'm can't be bothered continuing. Pity the VR games are not on disc as I could have traded it in.
So VR doesn't make everything better?
