Hey, for people using cheats through Swiss, the process changed slightly. You don't put your TXT file named after the game's serial code in root -> cheats. You put them in root -> Swiss -> cheats.
Hey dude, Thank you for explaining this, Me and my cousin had just baught a WiSD memory card adapter a few days ago and have been using it to play emulators as well as gamecube iso's, However we were a bit confused on how to make cheats for gamecube games actually work correctly, This video helped with everything we needed to know!.
Also thanks for the tips. Went back to play Super Mario Sunshine and I couldn't stand the horizontal camera controls and NEEDED to use a cheat to fix that nonsense.
The video became outdated with the change. The folder with cheats must be root -> Swiss -> cheats. It works perfectly. Some codes won't work properly, but that's nothing new to anyone. I have a folder with almost 2909 files, it has codes for many games, but not everything works all the time. In Resident Evil Remake, for example, even with infinite life, if a dog bites Jill in the throat she will die. Other than that you are immortal, and have infinite items.
Awesome video but i have one problem if i toggle the cheat the game wont start instead i get a black screen i am using a pal gecko code for a pal game usually it should work but i dont get where the prob is here do you maybe have a solution or advice? Found the solution thanks anyway
Copying over the .txt file cheats into a "cheats" directory on the root of the SD card did not work for me. Swiss doesn't detect cheats when I try to view them for a game. I saw the game in the list of cheats, so I know it's there. I suspect these aren't actually supposed to be .txt files. The gc-forever wiki mentions that cheats should be in GCT format and named the same as the ISO file. Is the method in this video out of date now?
Yep. The new location is /swiss/cheats on the SD card. .txt files are fine. Make sure your SD card isn't set read-only, but you probably have to move them manually anyway (I think it's supposed to move them for you, didn't work for me).
Is there a way I can use one SD card adapter for multiple consoles at once? Like perhaps I can save the codes to my action replay disc itself rather than just the SD card. Or at least have a way to keep the game running when I eject the SD card from the adapter.
Thanks for uploading this video. I was wondering how to use cheats with Swiss and this answered that perfectly. However, it’s odd that a particular cheat for Mario Kart Double Dash works fine using an Action Replay disc and the game disc, but the same cheat crashes the game when enabling it via Swiss and loading the game from an .iso file. Any idea what could cause that? I’m wondering if the cheat via Swiss is an incorrect code compared to the one on my Action Replay disc. I just don’t know how to verify that.
I have the same prob when i use the armax code wit the cd game it works but when i convert the code to gecko and use it with swiss the game wont start have you got a solution yet?
Have it idk if you still have the prob or not but solution was you take the encrypted ar code which is working for you, copy it and past it in the GCNrypt convert it then copy the converted code without the first line to GCN AR to WiiRD code type converter then get that code and put it in the text file it should work then
@@solidwolf496 I’ll have to look more into this when I’m more with it. It’s been a long week. But, it sounds promising. It’s nice to know others have experienced the problem or a similar one, and care enough to look more into it.
Small question, I load in Swiss thanks to the Melee save exploit so with the real disc. I'd like to use cheats to unlock all characters and stages in Melee but I can't find any way to boot on the disc once inside Swiss. Is it possible? If so, how can I do it?
Having an issue with mine, have gcloader setup with sd2 adapter, all working fine, i found a load of wiird cheats and put them in the cheats folder in the memory card sd2 adapter, i select boot game, then press y for cheats, i select the cheats (i know that if you go back into this it defaults them all to unchecked, but they should work if you just press b after selecting them and booting). so booting the game then I can see... the cheats arent working at all. freezing timer for 18 wheeler for example, timer still runs.. infinite health in resident evil.. first bite of that first zombie "caution" on health. so the cheats arent working at all :(
I was having this problem too, then I noticed that there is a cheat folder within Swiss. The same folder that stores your settings. Maybe they changed it, but don’t put the cheats in your root folder. They won’t work. You should see the folder it will be Swiss/cheats
Top tip, don't Boot Through IPL when trying to use cheats. The System will do a full on reset and not boot the game. I was puzzled at first on why it was doing this. Strangely too my SD card wouldn't show up again until the system was fully powered off and then back on again.

So do you just need gecko codes for Swiss to work on the games?
How do you format the cheats to save them to your SD cards?
Hey man I have a question. When i click on the link for the Cheat Collection, it loads an error page. I'm not sure why, can you help?

How did you get the Pokémon Colosseum codes to work? On that site there’s only 1 listed and it’s the master code.
How do you lead the AR codes through Swiss if you are using actual game discs?
